What's new

England beat Pakistan by 169 runs in the 3rd ODI

Let's all give a free hand to Inzi for picking an atrocious squad and backing Azhar as captain :D

If the bowlers can manage 15 runs each , it will be okay.

I'll take 15 in total, if they do their fundamental task properly - that's bowling well & bowling aggressively through-out 90 overs. Bowling (fast-bowling) all-rounders are the most precious assets in cricket - Juniads post makes me sad - instead of leaving cricket for studies, I should have tried to be one, it's so easy (beneficiary is Jaques Kallis - would have been 2nd best of his generation).

Nawaz may think he did enough to secure his place. Such is Pak mentality

Lo, yeah the entire world is built to entertain you. How is crawling to 300 and not losing by more runs not better than 280 all out?

Because in the first approach, you are looking to win and are risking a horrible loss.

In the second approach, you are looking for a dignified loss which is pointless after a while. When used in a strategically in a tournament where NRR matters, it makes sense...or else its even worse than just getting 220 all out in 25 overs.

dont score 210, please get the hammering of the worst ever defeat by any team under azhar ali as he well deserved it...

Scored hundred in test in Australia vs Australia.

Rahul is a 20+ Test century player, which I called watching his Dulip Trophy match before debuting for even IND A - you can check my post when squad for AUS-IND series was not finalized yet.

A batsman has few other attributes to look at, apart from the silly-card. In PAK, people look at where the ball has ended, Indians look for how it was sent there - that's the fundamental gap.

Fast bowling all rounders are extremely rare , because it is not easy to be one.

I always thought that Pakistan main issue is that Bowlers are not putting enough effort with bat . I mean I am not saying they become proper all rounders , but need to stick to the wicket.

Also , Pakistan captains are reluctant to develop some batsmen as bowlers ( part timers ) . Dhoni despite yuvraj not bowling well initially , continued to use him , he played a big part with his bowling in 2015 WC.

With WC 2019 to be played in England Pakistan should look to develop couple of batting all rounders who bowl seamers.

This is like watching a Bangladesh match back in 2000 for a giggle :yk

NO, we didn't lose by ~50% margin even those days. It's margin, nothing to do with average scoring of the match.

This is beyond pathetic & I know 8 or 9 players will be retained for WI series, including the Captain. A dynasty doesn't crumble over night - PCB retained most players along with the Captain, after 3-0 thrashing in Bangladesh. Even Afghans won't do that, if they suffer same against Hong Kong.

Well said Boss. What do you think are our chances against this English side? I am smelling a 3-0. If any of Hales, Roy, Root, Butler clicks, we are done. We are also missing the 'Fizz'

It doesn't work like that - International circuit is not the learning ground. Since WC2016, a lot of eye wash had been done by PCB - a bluff I called then & then. These are rubbish - as long as PCB arranges 40 team FC (including qualifiers), in NOV-DEC on some of the most atrocious wickets with 250 overs in 4 days, things won't improve. In PAK domestics, batting from No. 7 & down doesn't matter - top 6 can some how manage 170 + 20 from bottom 5, you are in dominating position in a FC match - result is this.

Yasir can atleast practice his batting and make sure he does not throw it away.

8 or 9 will be retained and rightly so.

All we need is Azhar, Malik, Wahab, Yasir, and Hafeez if he can't bowl out of the side. Rest are fine.

Nailed it. And said it nicely too. *hat tip*

Amir : Hasan Ali = Murali : Chris Martin in batting. These two need to swap batting positions..

I want to see "Breaking news, Azhar steps down from ODI captaincy" after this match

I meant from playing XI though.

Yaar I'll even stand 8 being retained from playing XI.

As long as Azhar, Malik, and Yasir are out I'm good. Wahab is probably the most bareable out of the lot even after today...

Every time Rashid gets spanked I feel good from the inside, guess it's just me.

Mogambo Khush Hua :murali

Could be tighter though. I am not sure actauuly how good the Poms are on a bit turner (like the SRL-AUS) series. Azhar is absolute ***** - so he took off Yasir after few overs against Hales. Better planned teams would spin him out - may be he'll score at 100+ SR, but won't last long against duel spin attack.

Bangladesh has to look beyond Mustafiz - if one player matters that much, either he is Bradman or the team is absolute rubbish - neither is true here. But, it'll be difficult, if they play on 300+ tracks - must play on wickets where 250 is winning total & there is spin to use (no shame in that - Lankan's are not welcoming Aussies on a WACA flyer)

Surely, Micky reads Junaids post - otherwise no way he can sent Hasan Ali ahead of Aamir/Yasir.

That's the way Sarfra dropped the catch in 1st ODI although there was a fielder a yard away then!

I think Poms will struggle on the bongle tracks. They are a bit slow and not so easy to adjust to for any batsmen outside of Bang/SL. And will turn nicely as well. All these Pom hacks - Hales, Roy, Buttler, Morgan, Stokes will struggle against quality spin on bangla wickets. I expect a series with scores similar to the Aus-SL one, but Poms not as mentally strong as Oz, so Bang to win it...

England will perform better than Australia.

These tailenders have scored more than the captain, thought for the day

England will perform better than Australia.

In Test definitely, but Aussies are different class in ODI. They won 2 ODI chasing 225+ against 45 overs of spin on what was like a 6th day Test wicket. Don't think ENG could have done even once, but I'll wait to see their change in Asia (in ODI)

Instead of trying to find a Ray Lindwall out of Hasan Ali, PCB should try to improve Aamir's batting - starting could be to send him at 8 & kick the butt of his domestic Captains to put him at 6.

This actually exposes the understanding of batting culture in PAK - Aamir is sent at 11 with Hasan Ali at 8.

I do not understand how Hassan Ali was so much hyped here. Amir looks like a decent number 8 .

Amir the last man is hitting more boundaries than Azhar, Sarfraz and Malik... These guys really cannot play fast bowling even on roads... That is Pakistan's biggest issue for some time, cannot play shots against seamer, pressure, no pressure, flat pitch or slow, seaming or not... One thing is constant, our batsmen cannot play pacers

Amir taking his frustrations out back to back :six amor showing top orders how it's done breaks record for highest number 11 score and 3rd :six 50 for Amir in just 22 balls quicker than Sharjeel!

Amir is the only fighter in the Pakistan side, he should be made captain :six :six :six

50 of 22 balls :133: Rashid hahahaha :AAG:

Keep going Amir, if we're going to lose this at least we'll go down entertained.
