Root could be on for Englands fastest ever test 100 pretty easily here. 76 balls.

I don't get all the hatred for out team here today. Yes, we've had a horrible game but honestly this isn't the end. I hope to God they make a come back in the next game and set these haters straight.

He looked pretty average to me when we whitewashed them in UAE 6 months ago.

Shoaib Malik even out performed him in the series playing one down. Your point is invalid
 
At this point it doesn't matter if Eng score 5 more runs or 500 runs.

Just bowl Azhar and Younis, protect your bowlers.

chk some of Pakistan's declaration batting in UAE declaration batting is not much different to minnow bashing nom pressure on batting side while fielders and bowlers are down on intensity.
 
Where are the people who said Cook didn't enforce follow-on because he wanted to score a hundred? :))
 
Wow absolutely smacked the bowling here....almost 6 r.p.o despite having most fielders on the boundary
 
I'd suggest playing positively when coming out to bat and to NOT gift wickets. Leave the good balls and punish the bad ones. Need a strong opening partnership and try to not lose a wicket as well as crossing the 100 mark. We need to make life easier for the next batsmen coming in. Our openers are in due for big tons due to their recent failures and I do hope they put up a fight here for a draw.

I love how you carefully chose last 7 tests. This is not the same English team, neither is the Indian team same anymore
 
One reason they should quickly bring in 4 day tests. This defensive tactic is not good for the game or spectators who pay good money to see good cricket.

I don't think we will see the best of Amir for another 6 months, He needs atleast a year of playing Test cricket under his belt to be properly where he once was as a bowler. Really can't make you understand how hard it is to come back after not holding a ball for 6 years. Even him getting 1 single wicket in these matches is a bonus for Pakistan because he's not ready yet, he needs a good season of hard cricket under his belt
 
Soon Mamoon will say Anderson or Woakes are better than any Pakistan bowler we ever produced.
 
England did this to prove a point....that how poor Pakistani bowler are...

I think Pak missed a trick by not including Imran Khan, Sohail khan and Mohammad Asghar here. They could have shown England their place.
 
Misbah needs to tuk the hell out of this match. This is one tuk tuking everyone will appreciate him for.

He looked very good in the UAE but got out in the 70s thrice.

its based on last two tours for both and your Indian side is roughly the same now that was thrashed 3-1

Anderson is not better than Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Asif and Fazal.

I think he's on par with Sarfaraz Nawaz and a better Test bowler than Akhtar.
 
interested to see how Pakistan go this innings.
usually when hafeez is one innings away from being dropped he comes with a soft high scoring 50
 
I am well aware that Misbah would stick with Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali and Younis Khan forever.

But Mickey Arthur is the coach now, and has well-known strong views. And each bad defeat moves Misbah closer to the exit door marked "Retirement".

So it strikes me that in this second innings, Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali and Younis Khan are playing for their careers.

Which is a good thing. Two of them have always been useless outside Asia, while the third is a cartoon caricature of his former self now that age has ruined his reflexes and corrupted his technique.

England once pulled it off vs South Africa in 1995. Thanks to Michael Atherton's 11 hour rearguard they managed to bat out 165 overs to save the Test.

Will need rain killing off at least two sessions here.

Also included the neutral series against oz, a team which has lost four consecutive series in Eng. A trick I have seen many Pakistanis use. Against Eng it is 2-6 from the 2006 series and today it will be 2-7 and by end of the series 2-9. India's record in a similar period is 2-7 (last 3 test series in England).

against England both home and away since 2010 India 2-9 while Pakistan7-3.

Asif was a genius, and was better than Anderson when both played in the same era.

Fazal is the pioneer of Pakistan's pace bowling legacy. You should read a bit more about him because it seems that you don't know much about his greatness.

Root didn't fail and they didn't get whitewashed.

The were few mins away from winning at Abu Dhabi but didn't because of bad light.
 
pakistan's biggest danger in this innings in Ramiz. Every time he comes in to the commentary box, something bad happens.

Ok I was talking about their actual accomplishments as cricketers.....if we add intangible factors like talent,legacy ,magic.etc...you may have a point there...i am not going to argue on that
 
This pitch has a bit of bounce, nothing more.

But scorecard pressure is too much so I don't expect Pakistan to bat the whole day.
