Amidst the doom and gloom, anyone else think Pakistan has done okay to push England to two close games? Considering the gap in skill levels between the two teams, it's not really that bad is it.
I'm trying to be positive, please don't troll me thanks![]()
It doesnt mention any form of dismissal specifically. It quite clearly states a batsman cannot be given out without an appeal, it doesn't matter what the mode of dismissal is. The onfield umpire shouldn't refer it to the third umpire unless there's an appeal.
If you can show there was an appeal then go ahead. There was no audible or visible appeal on TV.
There is a specific section for run outs in the law.
"38.1 Out Run out
Either batsman is out Run out, except as in 38.2, if, at any time while the ball is in play, he/she is out of his/her ground and his/her wicket is fairly put down by the action of a fielder even though No ball has been called, except in the circumstances of 38.2.2.2, and whether or not a run is being attempted."
It doesn't mention an appeal. In modern day cricket the umpires refer a run out automatically due to video technology.
Neither umpire shall give a batsman out, even though he/she may be out under the Laws, unless appealed to by a fielder.
But ok even if you need to appeal, 11 players on the pitch, at least one will ask the question which did happen.
There's specific sections for every dismissal type. The appeal law covers them all and whether you are out through any dismissal doesn't matter if no one appeals:
Feel free to prove it. Nothing could be heard through stump mic or seen on camera.
You do realise on many occasions when the run out is clear , the umpire raises the finger without an appeal? With technology almost every close run out is referred. The law just needs to be clarified.
Watch the footage, simple.
Feel free to show me a run out where there's absolutely no kind of appeal (it would be poor umpiring). Close run outs are referred because people appeal for them. The laws and regulations are clear, an appeal is needed. I'm not sure what else there is to watch in the footage.
Ive seen it many times, a player is run out clearly and the fielding team just celebrate and do not appeal. I dont need to show you anything.
How many runs did your designated slogger at no.7 score?
U failed to predict rain. Hence, u were wrong with ur prediction.I voted 5-0 in favor of England in that prediction thread . It looks like I am right. Pakistan is going to be whitewashed.

Despite the results, I fee Pak has played really well. Scoring consecutive 340 plus score is no mean feat by any stretch of imagination.
As a matter of fact I didn't expect Pak to post a single 320 plus score on the board. Their batters did really well.
Who’s my designated slogger?

Now this guy is positive. We need more of you on this forum sirThis is the best I have seen Pak bat for a long time. Pak looks favorites to win the WC.
I stopped watching the game when England were 190 odd for 1 after 26 overs. I thought it was deja vu.
The collapse in the middle gave Pakistan hope but really bad bowling by Hasnain and Junaid put paid to that.
Both Faheem and rookie Hasnain (selected because of his patchy PSL performances) should be dropped and replaced with Asif Ali and Amer in the World Cup squad
However if the World Cup is played on these same pitches England can do the same to other teams as well. Likewise Australia and India can do the same to England and other teams because of their strong batting.
Pakistan were 220/1, so 340/7 was below par. Most teams would have made 370-375 even 400 from that position. The lack of batting depth or quality all-rounders in the late order is clearly hurting us. This was evident in the series against Australia as well. Those 20-30 extra runs can be the difference between victory and defeat esp. on these flat surfaces
I cannot remember the last time Pakistan scored 300 plus ( 361/7, 358/9 and 340/7) in three straight games yet still lost..
they missing a quality spinner and quality fast bowler.
Shaheen and Junaid deserve to be dropped more-so than Husnain, who looked the only decent pace bowler yesterday.I stopped watching the game when England were 190 odd for 1 after 26 overs. I thought it was deja vu.

Yes once Shadab is back and if Amer can rediscover even 70-80% of his best form, we should have a more balanced side
whats wrong with Amir?
