England defeat Pakistan by 3 wickets in tense finish to the 4th ODI

While England got 16 off the second last over.... in our second last over nephew was leaving balls.
 
Can't believe my eyes when Junaid bowled the penultimate over. Hafeez or Malik should've bowled as Junaid was bowling rubbish he should've taken that risk
 
Azhar Mehmood should not be allowed within 100 miles of a Pakistan dressing room. He was sitting filling his face while his bowlers couldn't deliver a single yorker when it counted. Bowled over wicket angling across to rashid who has only one shot over the off side. My prediction for the WC we lose 7 of our 9 matches. I expect Arthur, azhar, inzi all to be fired. Since rixon left our fielding has gone to pot.
 
I hope the boys get SERIOUS stick from Mickey and Co. Dreadful and embarrassing display in the field and with the ball.
 
Just one of those days guys. Let's just move on from this series.

We threw that away.
First the run out which was out..
Then the drop catches and even more galling, two fours given by midfields and numerous singles from fumbles... that there was the difference..

Oh please 20 runs given as a gift by stupid fielding as a whole and specially by Junaid Khan

Don't drag Imam into everything it was our fielding and specially bad bowling by Junaid Khan.. Commentators were even frustrated

I’m afraid we may have to prepare ourselves for a major setback in the upcoming World Cup. Don’t think there is any game awareness among this bowling lot (apart from maybe Hafeez).

Who calls this bowling attack as the best? Its one of the three worse bowling attacks in the world without Shadab. With him, its still in the bottom half.
 
Pakistan just doesn't want to win. Pathetic fielding overall, very Vanilla captaincy which I am not sure is part of strategy or just dumb, and unimaginative bowling. I am very frustrated watching cricket wasting a off day. Duhhh.
 
Last ball of the 49th over. That's where fitness matters. Any athletic keeper would've taken that catch but Sarfaraz just lazily leapt towards the ball.
 
Not to say our batting is any better. With 9 wickets in hand at around 200 mark you expect to at least score 30-40 more runs than they got.

Its that time when team management itself need stick and need to be booted out but WC on us is saving them
 
What went wrong(in my view):
1. Babar Azams selfish 100
2. Sarfraz lack of power hitting and bad fitness
3. Imam leaving balls in the end
4. Almost no Yorkers in the match
5. Bad fielding
6. Bad captaincy, lack of leadership.
 
Fielding cost us the match today. Bowlers need some boots on their bums and need to man up. Don't think we have any better bowlers waiting in Pak.

All these things show that Pakistan's ODI and T-20 team is a good 5 to 10 years behind the Big 5. Unless changes are made at the domestic level and ruthless standards along with a scientific approach is not adopted at the national level, we will continue to linger at the bottom of the rankings.
 
Its my CA exams in a few days and i have wasted my entire day for this absolute garbage performance. And now i'm not in a mood to even talk to anyone.

Any comments on Captain Fantastic and his coolness under pressure, brilliant appealing (or lack thereof) and Viv-esque batting performances or does that get quietly swept under the rug ?
 
Another match lost on the margins ... core batsmen need to improve their SRs which all adds up in the bottomline and the bowlers really need to sort themselves out. Both things are needed.
 
Sarfraz bowling changes were appalling. Why give rookie Hasnain the death overs and bowl powder puff Junaid in the important penultimate over ?

Maybe you weren't following the match.... his bowling changes resulted in the wickets that even brought the match close. England were running away with it at one stage with 200/1.

Your posts are appalling.... acting as expert without even watching the match. England were 200/1. The bowling changes brought the collapse.

Any other captain could have not done better on such a belter, stop blaming Sarfraz for everything. Our batting was pathetic and selfish which killed our chance in the first place then bowling by below average yet again and fielding was atrocious..it's not sarfraz fault if your batsmen can't play for the team or fielders forget how to field...Blame mickey..the so called messiah of PCT
 
We should have won had it not been for poor bowling and our embarrassing fielding. When the wheel's go off with Pak their is nothing worse on the Cricket field. With on earth are you repeatedly bowling slow bouncers on a small ground to a team like England for crying out loud!? To make it worse Sarfraz didn't even appeal for a run out that most likely would have been given. A complete shambles again. England as well as they played will be facing much better team in the WC then this Pak side nonetheless well played to them.

I understand your pain, but the thing is you had too high expectations from men under Sarfraz.

First - Imam ul Haq and Sarfraz were tuk tuking in the last 2 overs. We could have scored 20-30+. Then the expected trash bowling from Junaid, Hasan.


From now on, you should learn to have the right expectations. Assume that they'll lose under Sarfraz and Mickey Arthur, and with all the accumulators.
 
Match ka Mujrim award goes to Babar and Junaid. Babar played slow and Junaid bowled pathetically, Junaid should be dropped from WC squad.
 
Some fans will be doing bhangra cos we "nearly" beat England.
 
Only 3 yorkers bowled by Pakistani pacers....shows lack of fitness and confidence
Even a dumb at cricket could see that in such pitches you need to uave bowlers who can bowl 4 yorkers a over..... how come inzi could not spot hariz rauf....i think nepotism is on...sarfraz picked Hasnain from his gladiator camp

England gifted wickets. It wasn't down to the Pakistani Clive Lloyd and hs genius captaincy.

I saw the match and you haven't answered why Junaid was bowled out when he was going at 9 RPO after his first five overs ? Why use the rookie at the death when he is unproven as a death bowler ?

Why give Malik only two overs and not give Hafeez his full quota when they were able to contain England ? Heck, why didn't Sarfraz ask for a proper spinner for this series given how the pacers have been belted on these cement tracks ? Instead Captain Fantastic thought Imad and Yasir would do the job.

In tight games like this the captain must hold their nerve but Sarfraz crumbled yet again under pressure in a winnable match just like against Bangladesh in Asia Cup when they were 12-3.

As for his batting, he hasn't hit a six in 17 months ! Yet his supporters defend him at all costs.

These changes are needed to be done if we want to win a game or two at WC.
 
There are so many things wrong in this team that pointing out one or two players for this miserable result will be intellectually dishonest.

So can't use rookie, can't use Junaid because he is expensive, can't use spinners..... so mr. expert who should Sarfaraz have used? Taken off his pads and had a bowl himself?



Funny its Sarfaraz's fault for "not asking" for a proper spinner but not your favorite Inzi's fault whose actual job is to select. Mashallah no bias there.

Shinwari is a much bigger match loser than Junaid. We really have very short memories.
 
Main Culprits of our recent disastrous performances are
1. Inzi
2. Mickey
3. Imam
4. Babar
5. Fielding
6. Lack of Passion of playing for Pakistan..

Address/Kick out them , we will get better....otherwise there is no chance Inzi/Mickey combo have ruined our entire squad/set up and there is no merit in team selection. Anyone with even little bit of sense know Kashif bhatti - best spinner in Pakistan RN - easily makes the squad on merit but he's not nephew or his name is babar Azam so he wasn't picked. Abid is a best opener we have available in Pakistan but can't get into the side because nephew's place could be under threat...Saud Shakeel has done more than babar in domestic but no favourite is untouchable and he is allowed to play many selfish innings at the cost of Pakistan's winning as his average is more important.

Comprehension is not your strong suit. I said give the spinners their full quota as they contained England but Clive Lloyd thought to keep bowling powder puff Junaid.

Also why no comments about the fact Sarfraz has not a six in his last 352 balls of ODI cricket ? What happened to captains leading from the front ? He was partly responsible for our weak finish to our innings.

After this World Cup, time to appoint a captain who makes the team on merit.

I will reiterate you go back and watch the match. It was his bowling changes that brought the wickets.

And sixes are the criteria by which we judge people now? That'll make Afridi the greatest batsman to have ever lived. Sarfaraz batted at 150 SR second highest for Pak. Meanwhile Inzi's nephew was leaving balls in the second last over of the innings ending up with a score of 6(20).


By all means criticize Sarfaraz but do not lose your rationality and come across as a clown like you are doing now. In today's match Sarfaraz was completely not at fault.

It doesnt mention any form of dismissal specifically. It quite clearly states a batsman cannot be given out without an appeal, it doesn't matter what the mode of dismissal is. The onfield umpire shouldn't refer it to the third umpire unless there's an appeal.

If you can show there was an appeal then go ahead. There was no audible or visible appeal on TV.
 
Amidst the doom and gloom, anyone else think Pakistan has done okay to push England to two close games? Considering the gap in skill levels between the two teams, it's not really that bad is it.

I'm trying to be positive, please don't troll me thanks :inti
