Pitches werent probably as flat as these that time around. These pitches are tailor made to give bowlers absolutely nothing. Batsman to batsman, England will win 9 out of 10 times against any side. They know it and hence now that the world cup is here, they have unleashed these pitches.

The pitches were belters but they bowled well and so did India. Australia was smashed though. Even in low scoring games, England can hold their own. The likes of Root, Morgan, Bairstow etc. can dig in. Yes they have collapsed a few times but so does every other team.

Fakhar is usually good, but Junaid has played enough professional cricket to be competent. He doesn't appear to work hard in the field and his fitness is poor. Shaheen though is understandable - he was playing cricket in his village until 2016, and has very little F/C experience.
