England end Day 3 at 112/2, needing 55 runs to win the 3rd Test in Karachi

Torturous to watch all these Pakistani batsmen.
Not a single good batsman in the team.

If Pak can get a 175 run lead, they can win this. It will not be easy batting 4th on a low turning pitch.

All blame goes to the one who asked the curators to prepare such pitches.
The pindi pitch can be blamed on the curators as it suited englands bazball. However in the somewhat helpful tracks of multan and karachi our batsmen and bowlers have been fully outclassed. Even markwood had a bigger batting impact than half our lineup

Pakistan won't get more then a 125-150 lead here. Glad Azhar got out for a duck, fully deserved for picking him as though this is a charity game. Good riddance and Shan please retire as well.

What is wrong with Pakistan? I've been watching them for so long and I can tell that even when they were far away from their best they used to do much better than this. I've never ever seen them staring at a 0-3 whitewash at home. This is seriously poor and not to be brushed aside. They need to relook at themselves.

When was the last time you saw Pakistan not having a genuine fast bowler in there playing XI ?

Abdullah shafique found out.

Waqar's team that got bulldozed in 2002 in the UAE. I'm pretty sure that particular team would have been whitewashed in Pakistan as well.

Thats the only time PAK were worse than this.

Pitch is worsening and still some batting to come. They need to believe and keep going.

Yup! Rightly pointed out, although later that year Pakistan did manage to bounce back fairly well.

Yes can't imagine a Pakistan bowling attack as weak as this esp in the fast bowling department. Abrar ahmed is an exception he has been the lone shining star.

Pakistan cricket is dead. Burn the bails and put them in a box and bury them. Sounds like an original idea tbh

Our last world class test side had Misbah and Younis with Asad and Azhar playing a support role.

Misbah and Younis were the final good products of a domestic system that was getting worse every decade since the mid to late 90s.

Azhar and Asad could not carry the torch once it was passed to them for much longer.

Worst thing for Pakistan, unlike India, they won't start selecting players on merit.

This is just the start, the nadir will eclipse Bangladesh

This is the difference between Saud Shakeel and Abdullah Shafiq... Saud used his legs often against the spinners

At one stage I saw some 50/0 and thought Pakistan will set them a big target and minutes later it was 54/3 LOL. What a joke this is.

I remember those games, I was sitting at a cyber cafe with my friend checking our results and Pakistan were losing wickets faster than the rate at which our result page was loading 😆. Between the time I checked my result and my friend's, my friend told me "abe udar page refresh kar unke aur do wickets gire honge" And yes, they had lost 2 more by then. 😆

Yes, that was the only time Pakistan looked worse than this.

Hussain: Stokes has to bowl when reverse swing takes effect
Sky Sports Cricket expert Nasser Hussain...

"It was a good first hour [for England] simply because the pitch hasn't done that much again - it's done nothing for the seamers - so England had to find their way with cunning fields and mixing up the bowling, and Leach delivered.

"I think the seamers will have a role this afternoon. If you Mohammad Wasim yesterday, it reversed after 40 or 50 overs, and it went quite big. That's when Stokes has to bowl - he hasn't bowled for a long time in this series - because he can reverse it away from the right-hander."

That was because of pure politics. Wasim Waqar issues plus we had a very young team. Some players wanted to play under waqar but some wanted to perform under wasim only. Too much groupings. These two saints have done too much damage to our cricket due to politics rather than winning any meaningful series or trophies. Cant forget how aussies butchered them(wasim and waqar) on Australian soil in 1990s and early 2000s

Im not seeing much deterioration in the pitch here.

It seems to be the same situation we have had throughout the match, where nothing happens for a while and there is a decent partnership, then suddenly there is a wicket and before you know it 2-3 batters are gone. Then it goes quiet again.

England will have to work hard for these remaining seven dismissals. It is a difficult pitch to start on, less so to bat on.

Where the match stands at lunch

Sky Sports Cricket expert Mark Butcher...

"You're in that stage where the ball isn't quite old enough to reverse swing, some of the initial hardness may have gone out of it so it's not spinning or biting as spitefully for the spin bowlers.

"If you're willing to get stuck in and not give your wicket away, there are runs to be scored. Ben Stokes is trying to have six men around the bat and trying every little trick in the book apart from bowling the leg-spinner.

"What we've seen is pretty regulation cricket. Pakisitan have played well, England have tried their hardest to break the partnership, but you're going to get periods where they're going to score.

"It's just a question of whether Pakistan can keep driving that ball or if England do make that breakthrough, suddenly they charge through that door."

One more wicket and england are into the tail, RIzwan will come in and dance around and get out as usual. Let's see if Babar can get some runs when it matters most in this series.

Imam played like a Champion after coming from hospital. Most fans wanted him to be replaced by Masood, could manage just a couple of cute knocks of 24 & 30. Hope Imam haters would have realized his importance.

Replacing bad with worse.

Stokes on for one of his occasional (possibly) marathon spells.

Only matter of time before babar gets out, playing with zero intent here. Just blocking for the sake off it, till he gets out

Can for once a pair of middle order to lower order batters have partnerships of 100 runs each?

Runs always matter anytime in the match or series.

While this has been one of the worst Pakistan test teams I have seen.

The series has produced entertaining cricket and scenarios where both teams could go on to win each test.

Should be a fun end here. Hoping Pakistan can set a target of at least 175 here.

Babar needs to start making big tons so his average can cross 50, only then he will be considered as a great in Test cricket.

Saud has had a terrific start to his career and he must not throw it away.

Only 375 would could be testing. This England side will go for the victory no matter what. 175 is a walk in park.

Saud shakeel is the only positive that Pakistan has had in this series.

Pakistan is always in trouble when Babar come to bat, more or less, espexially tgis and last series aginst Aus.

Looks excellent.

Pakistan’s batting line-up not far from being a good one imo.

Bowling the bigger problem.

I'm sure england will start short ball tactic soon and wait for a mistake as usual.

Even when England are not taking wickets currently atleast they bowling tigh and can induce a mistake. Babar could had done the same yesterday with Faheem.

Great partnership so far. Both players need to camp in and score big here

God help if Saud or Babar get out early after their 50, someone will post they were batting for their 50 only.

This is the critical partnership. I think it will win the match for Pakistan.

Seriously India would have pummelled this attack of leach and rehan

Such an average England attack that pak have struggled against
