England to meet Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup after thrashing India by 10 wickets

I think most Indian fans here will agree that their team was extremely lucky to get to the semis.

They lost to South Africa and had Pakistan selected 4 seamers India would not have come close to beating them.
They really should have lost to Bangladesh too.

Now up against a top side they've completely imploded

IPeeEll will douse the disappointment..

Even on such a good batting surface, we scored less than 170 and that too only due to Hardik.

Eng should cruise this now and ICC will be crying

England has the ability to either destroy or self-destruct, and today they are in destroy mode.

Never know what happens on Sunday. They could self-destruct too.

How is Babar-Rizwan a better combo than Buttler-Hales? ICC rankings are a joke.

Rohit and Kohli's knocks were the best. I know they came in a loosing knock but still. They took there time to settle in but that's what india needed at that time. They way the timed the ball was amazing . Isn't it Mamoon

This is embarrassing stuff by India. Can't even put up a fight. The presser by Rohit somehow makes even more sense now. They had given up before the match even started.

India has only played a good game against Zimbabwe, they are fortunate to be in the semi-finals.

When was the last time they self destructed with the bat though?

We barely crossed 60 in our first 10 overs and England are already 90-odd in their first 9 overs.

Such a contrast, lol.

I think you might be sentenced for treason in India or Pakistan if you cross 45 in the powerplay

Can't blame the Indian batting in this game. It was their strategy all through the tournament. 60 to 70 in the first 10 and add a hundred in the last 10. Is that a great strategy? Doesn't matter. It's the strategy that works for that team with openers flopping. Today they executed the plan. Bowling hasn't showed up today

Let's not act so surprised, though. India's bowling attack wasn't even the second best in their own group. It was always going to cost them at some point in the tournament. I mean, I can't imagine that they thought that they would win a World Cup with a one trick pony like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a guy averaging upwards of 30 like Shami, a fish out of water like Arshdeep (none of whom can hit 140+ consistently) and two finger spinners.

Yes this will be the difference in the end.

170 is defendable if you have a decent bowling attack but India 15 short.
Our batting is so outdated for this format. Only guys like Sky, Pandya (of this game) stand any chance to be picked up in a good T20 batting side. No one else. Kohli is way past it, just playing on his past laurels.

Hales playing a blinder.

England will be favourites against Pak on Sunday. Not afraid to say this. But still hoping it will be a good game.

im going to troll harbajan on twitter for this post of his

Pakistan still scores once in a while in PP, we OTOH never ever do that.

20 over game you would tkae them.

But shortened game, feel whoever is chasing will be favorite. You don't know what is a good score batting first and then you have a shortened game where you're forced to hit and use all your wickets.

Arshdeep and bhuvi haven't gotten that swing on this flat wicket

Eng showing the proper blueprint in how to approach T20

This could be the last of Rohit, Kohli, BK, Shami, Axar, Ashwin in T20Is for India. Hardik will probably be the next captain

It seems to me that Misbah's tuk tuk culture has perhaps crossed the border?

Ideally all of them should go, you need to start rebuilding with your new generation.

Hope we do something similar.

Hales is no world beater. Whilst performing in the PSL, he was no trailblazer and often got out on low scores against domestic tier bowlers.

What does that tell you about the Indian bowling?

Hales inns just as good as pandya but context hales would be deemed better

Agree, you need a dynamic hitter upfront. Doesn’t have to be elegant, just someone to put fear in the opposition.
England have 2 players injured in Roy and Bairstow that do the same

England making a mockery of the best bowling attack in the tournament. Ominous signs for Pakistan ahead of the final.

India has a poor bowling attack. I appreciate your point of views related to batting and I think you have got it right most of the time over the years. But in bowling, often your observations go wrong. England and India both have poor bowling attacks especially today ( Mark Wood not playing) and they have the best batting attacks.
South Africa had the potential to be the best bowling attack but there are millenial chokers.
The neutrals believe the best bowling attack is of Pakistan especially after inclusion of M.Wasim. Stats are also supportive of it. Pakistan got it wrong against India by not playing 4 fast bowlers.

Pakistan will beat England if it's a proper 20 over game.

If it's a shortened game and all sorts of tactical matters arise, we will lose.

Indian bowlers have shown any amount of line and length trundling only gets you as far. It's humiliation of the highest order. And it's also embarrassing.

I don't see a lot of noise re Kohli innings on this thread. Instead the blame has been conveniently directed at the bowlers. Babar would have been mauled by his own countrymen lol.

We were made to believe that KL was the next coming of Tendulkar. And Rohit was the best out there. Surya bhai is atleast consistent with his counterpart in AB regarding choking when it matters.

He has an ODI highest score of 175 against Pakistani phaaast bowlers.

Indian bowling is just very mediocre.
They have only got trundlers and no spinner.

India would have beaten SA anywhere except Perth. The other teams in the group were poor including Pak. We saw the resurgent Pak at the end but they were poor initially too. Aussies were poor. English too in their group games initially. I don't think any one team dominated in this world cup.

England's game against Australia was rained off
Kiwis dominated their group but lost to England
Both teams were deserving semi finalists.

India could have easily lost to Pakistan and even Bangladesh.

Pakistan were always going to struggle whilst their openers were out of form but their bowling has been superb and kept them in every single game they played.
Of course luck came in the form of a South African choke but the same can be said about India, only India's batting and bowling as not been up to scratch. Nor has their fielding

Hales dealing in sixes while Buttler is happy with fours.

What do you mean by probably? He is going to captain India in the next series. BCCI have already named him the captain. :inti

This is a fight

A fight like Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King tuk up for their people

Until you do not persist relentlessly with the removal of Tuk Tuk, it will not go! The cancer will not go!

Indian commentators are like indian crowds ..only apppreciate and jubilant over their own team performance

It is amazing to think that England might still have made the finals by leaving Hales home. Their depth is incredible.

Don't think so. Pak has a better chance if they beat first. Eng wants to chase. Toss could be irrelevant
In a shortened game you'd prefer to know what you need to chase and you can plan it out with all 10 wickets to use.

No one saw the Hale storm coming that’s for sure.

Amazing knock.

It tells me that Hales is a big occasion man.

Silence from the Indian fans as he goes to 77 with another :Six and :4our.

This is why I expect us to lose whenever we go up against Aus or Eng lol.

Still better if this is last for Dravid... We need a foreign coach badly! Only then some of the arrogance & stubbornness culture of seniors will go down!

Dear Indian brothers

Right now you need a voice against Tuk Tuk! You must speak up

I am willing to fight with you and remove this disease from the subcontinent!!

Cricinfo went crazy after Pandya’s innings, but in hindsight that was an okish innings, whereas the other indian batsmen bottled it completely.

such good 2 days
experienced pakistans semi in person yesterday
and now i wish i was there to lick indian tears
:)))

Is K L Rahul overhyped?

Did not do anything of note in this World Cup. IPL successes don’t count!

Rohit Sharma also had a forgetful World Cup with the bat.
