Very good effort by India expect them to win now

Mohit, Bhuvi, Ashwin and Jaddu will keep it tight. Unless Shami goes for plenty, India has a good chance.

Should have got 320-330 the way Raina was going.

But Dhoni just couldn't accelerate.

And Jaddu

Sending in Jaddu totally killed the momentum. He had no timing in his shots.

Even MSD looked lost after Raina left.

Rohit as usual took a million deliveries to get his 50 and throws it away. His effort was decent. Should have scored more.

England have only chased 300+ twice in ODIs. Not a good sign.

Hope Hales stays in for a few overs though.

Well done Woakes for stopping that charge, else it would have been 330 to win.

Step forward, Mr Hales......

Yep. But Jaddu > Ashwin when it comes to slogging and running between the wickets.

Also Rohit Sharma's innings wasn't that bad (considering the conditions). It wasn't ideal but he started making up for his low SR and then slowed down for some reason and got out.

Last 15 overs, 148 runs
Last 10 overs 86 runs
Last 5 overs 39 runs

Thats an excellent effort

Yes a 10-15 more runs would have been handy but 304 is more than a decent total. If we cant defend this, we wont defend 320 either

Fully agreed.

Was commenting about not finishing well when we usually do it.

Also feel Jaddu and Ashwin in the death are unreliable to the core (not talking about this match). Bhajji was an under rated slogger.

so the world champs have again shown quality batting ....awesome innings by raina... future ODI legend

The future ODI legend, Raina in. World is yet to see the real Raina.

I have an Imran like eye when it comes to identifying talent. Raina for the next 5 yeras will be the most feared ODI batsman in the world. :viv

Jaddu is better than Ashwin.always contributes a quick cameo in the end.Didnt happen today though

Don't think England will be able to chase this unless they get a really solid start

Great batting by Raina.. Just love to watch him bat.:14:

Anyways what the hell has happened to kohli??:))

Jaddu > Ashwin but he is unreliable.

You never know when he will click or flop.

Yeah, apart from Dhoni,Kohli and Raina, all else are unreliable.

Jaddu is more reliable in bowling fielding though. We should play a seaming AR with him instead of Ashwin

I trust Ashwin's bowling more than Jaddu's.

Especially in clutch games.

I think we need to try Karn Sharma and choose the best 2 among these 3.

Raina's good to watch when driving, but his pulling, slog etc.- are awfully ugly but as seen today effective.

no Jaddu is a better bowler in ODIs.Ashwin is very poor overseas

plus hes a slow fielder and not a hitter type batsman.More suited to Test matches

Agree about Karn.If a leggie comes good, its gold.Hes also very good fielder and handy lower order slogger

He was poor in NZ.

Last time Jadeja was hopeless in Aus CB Series where Ashwin did fine. But Jaddu has improved now.

Anyways, its all about recent form. So let's see what happens.

CB series was long time ago,he was dropped after that and has been good since his comeback.

Was highest wicket taker in Champions Trophy too IIRC

currently our highest ranked bowler.

If one of them has to play,it'll surely be Jaddu(considering batting and fielding bonus too)

Yes he was the best there. But Ashwin was not bad there.

In the following tri series in WI, he was bad. Picked up 4 wickets in the finals though (but it was lower order wickets after Bhuvi, Ashwin did the damage).

Then in the recent Asia Cup (last ODI tourney both played) - Ashwin was far better than Jaddu.

When Jaddu goes off track, its very easy to cart him around.

Its all about form.

So we need to get 3 spinners (who can bat) ready and choose the best 2 among them.

Ashwin (the slogger) << Jaddu (the slogger)

Jaddu wasnt poor in Asia Cup.was bad only vs Pakistan.I think you are confusing it with WT20 where he was pathetic.

Good thing is hes able to keep it tight most of the time even when hes not taking wickets.Even in Australia home series he had an excellent ER.

The rankings show hes been better for longer.

Plus ground fielding is lot more important in ODIs and Ashwin lags there.

I agree about having 3 spinners ready.Different types ideally too.Fielding gotta be a factor along with batting

yeah Ashwin can easily bat higher up and construct an innings. He struggles when hes asked to slog from the start.

If he takes his batting seriously,he can be a very good allrounder batting at 5-6

A girl came into his life that's what happened. He needs to dump her. Sanath dumped his wives when his carrier went down. Dilshan did it too, and he didn't even pay child support

Jaddu is the best fielder we have. Ashwin on the other hand is....:))

Mohit is no Ishant.

Ishant starts the over well and ends it badly by giving a boundary/

Mohit starting well and ending it well.

India scored 304 at 50 Overs and England now has to chase 297 for 47 Overs ? :maqsood

Duckbill Platypus strikes again..... I remember a WC semi-final which SA were winning, then D/L revised their target to 24 off one ball.

SHami to ruin the good work done by Mohit.

This is the reason Shami blows. He is a poor bowler in ODI's and in Tests he has struggled recently.

Cook is in bad form and these idiots need to make sure Cook does not get away with it.

4 to end the over for Shami.

Indian bowlers always manage to ruin a perfect over by giving away easy boundary.

Some things never change.

Alastair "Misbah" Cook will win the game for India if he carries on like this.

India needs to get Hales out quickly. Otherwise, he will quickly take the game away. One of the best LOI players currently.

Why was Umesh still now picked?

Anyways Indian bowlers are just hopeless.

They can't even bowl line and length properly.
