About to start in half an hour's time.
News from the Indian camp is that Pankaj Singh has replaced Ishant Sharma as the third seamer.
 
Its so suspicious ... "one good performance and he gets injured".
Maybe scared that he will get hammered in this test ... what do you think guys? :P

Agreed, just like how Wasim backed out of quaterfinal against India in '96 WC :P
 
How do Jordan and Woakes bowl? I understand that both of them are kind of allrounders..

Well I don't understand why they would leave Ishant out.

He's awful, but whenever he hits any semblance of form, they leave him out.

That should really kill India's chances in this match.
 
Pankaj has a good FC record. Good to see Woakes get a game. He has been shafted in ODIs by Dernbach of all bowlers as well.
 
When All Indians wanted Ishant to be dropped from team, he kept on playing

will india manage to get 20 wickets with this line up? i highly doubt so india will have to settle for a draw
 
We probably needed Ashwin with Ishant not there to 'force' the batsmen.. Rohit Sharma, better score few runs or your place will come for a big debate again..
 
There is a good amount of grass on the pitch. Indian fan's wish has been answered.

How is Shami bowling guys?

His figures don't look good.

Said many a times a pacer had to come in for Shami who was not in the flow.
 
Why does India keep ruining their pace bowlers? Warne saying he had pace and he has the build for it. Anyone know if he is a vegetarian too?
 
India hasn't bowled well this morning so far. B kumar and Shami didn't bowl the right channels.

Pankaj, Aaron, Pandey (who bowled better than everyone in NZ warmup) could have replaced him.

Ishant getting injured was totally surprising.

This Shami just doesn't look the same. There is some issue with his rhythm. Needs to go back and sort it out.
 
People are forgetting that batting is not easy especially at the top. I use to play Cricket before and struggled even on good batting surface to get bat onto ball at over 60 mph. Batting is a skill and art. Need to have talent of some sort. I support Cook all the way and his overall average speaks for itself but just looks out of form and captaincy burdening him.
 
I won't be surprised if England-India future test series is raised to 6 or even 7 matches as long as it makes a ton of money which this series is mainly about.

Well as an international batsman you would hope someone would be able to get bat on ball at 60mph

Don't be so sure, you can still get into Bangladesh team, you might be one of the better batsman.
 
Oh boy, Cook looks like he's getting a hint of form back. If I were an Indian bowler, I'd run away.

All the pain and frustration of 25 tests is going to explode here. Cook's 300 confirmed.
 
Rahul Dravid is such a class act. Good commentator as well. Have so much respect for this guy.

I like the look of Pankaj. He should play him with Ishant. A new pace(ish) age for India!
