do you really think we care if Pakistanis support us or not? we are there to win the world cup & we will beat any team that comes in the way. either its England or Pakistan & yeah we might as well do some favours to certain teams along the way & that doesn't make much difference to us bc we are looking at the main goal and not on whos gonna qualify at 4 or 3 or 2. it doesn't matter to us.

I think it's time to dump Mr.3D and get Pant in. India needs firepower against Eng.

Such arrogance on a Pakistan cricket forum!!!!!

its not arrogance lol. idk why certain pakistanis are acting as if india is dying for anyones support. i guess they havent seen the crowds. we are here to win & specially after how some of your journalists spoke in their specfic shows. i guess its about time to show how much more serious we are winning this worldcup

England can’t afford to carry both Vince and Moeen. They should drop Vince and play Moeen as opener.

DK will play in place of shankar for sure. Dk is way more sensible & can hit the ball when required.
DK is better batsman than Shankar. But DK has horrible record at No 4. So, I don't think it would make too much of difference. And England has Jason Roy back. Should be easy win for the poms.

DK is a good player of spin & Can easily handle someone like woakes & Plunket, Ali & Rashid. He would be a great addition to the team tbh & Well whether its roy or buttler or morgan. they will be up against the best bowling attack in this wc.

Stay grounded please. :inti

Jadeja would quite handful in ENG vs ENG . He has a great all round record against them.

You think if we don’t reach semis a change will happen? Did you see any change after 2003 & 2007 WC debacle. Pakistan is an inconsistent team that will continue to blow hot and cold so with long periods of mediocrity with occasional period of brilliance son just enjoy the ride without taking anything too seriously

Probably not, but there is a semblance of possibility anyway. However, if we make the semis, absolutely nothing will change and we will soon be back in our comfort-zone.

Kohli’s confidence as he prepares for England challenge

India captain Virat Kohli is keeping a laser-like focus on his own team and insists it’s England who need to adjust if they are to keep their World Cup dreams on track.

The pair meet at Edgbaston on Sunday, with India attempting to preserve their unbeaten start to the tournament and secure a semi-final spot.

Defeat for England would put their own last four prospects in jeopardy, following back-to-back losses to Sri Lanka and Australia.

The hosts began the tournament as the top-ranked ODI side in the world – a title now taken by India – and Kohli admits he did not expect them to struggle in home conditions.

“Everyone is a bit surprised. We thought England would probably dominate in their own conditions but, as I said at the beginning of the tournament, pressure is going to be a factor and low scores are going to be defended,” he said.

“I said that because I have played at two World Cups and all the teams are very strong. Anyone can beat anyone and we got a scare from Afghanistan, so you can’t take anything for granted.

“We will see what happens. The other teams have outplayed England on occasions and although we have not lost a game, we cannot be complacent.

“The reason we have won every game is because we have been professional and precise under pressure. It is surprising but I expected something like that in the World Cup because teams come under pressure.

“Maybe the pressure has told, maybe it hasn’t. It’s for them to assess now.”

India’s progress has been serene so far, with five wins from six matches placing them second in the table while their match with New Zealand fell foul of the weather.

Kohli has struck four consecutive fifties and played a key role in India’s impressive form with the bat but it’s their bowlers facing England’s explosive batsmen which really gets the mouth watering on Sunday.

Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have taken regular wickets and bowled economically, while Jasprit Bumrah has proven why he is the number one ranked ODI bowler despite taking just nine wickets.

Mohammed Shami, back in the side in place of the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar, has also made an immediate impact by taking a hat-trick against Afghanistan – presenting Kohli with a selection headache as Kumar nears fitness.

“Bhuvi has been a world class bowler for years now and has been a consistent player for us in the shorter formats,” he added.

“Shami, in the last year and a half has come around amazingly well. I have never seen him fitter, more hungry and he is getting wickets.

“In our last game [against West Indies], the way he was bowling with the new ball on a pitch that was dry was amazing. He has that hunger within him and he is bowler very well.

“Bhuvi is recovering very fast. When he gets fit, it will be headache for us. But we will take the best one for the team at that moment and everyone will understand.

“Sometimes in cricket this happens because of injuries and niggles. All I can say is that at the moment, I am very happy with the way Shami is bowling. Bumrah is different because he is separating himself from everyone else.”

Lol fun thread this. Will be a thriller tomorrow.

Morgan says England are not feeling the pressure ahead of India game

Eoin Morgan insists England won’t buckle under pressure against India, even though defeat would leave their World Cup dreams in serious danger.

The hosts looked set for the semi-finals when they won four of their first five matches but losses to Sri Lanka and Australia have invited Pakistan and Bangladesh back into the race ahead of a thrilling group stage conclusion.

Defeat to India – unbeaten in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 and now the top-ranked ODI side in the world – would further damage England’s prospects and could take their fate out of their own hands ahead of the final round of games.

But Morgan, who led England to the No.1 ranking ahead of this tournament, is adamant they have regained their focus ahead of Sunday's game at Edgbaston and their final match with New Zealand.

“We are handling it well,” he said.

“We are in a lucky position, playing in a home World Cup for your country is a privileged position to be in.

“It presents a huge opportunity and if we win two games we are in the semi-finals and then if we win that then we are in the final. There is still a lot on the line and we are really looking forward to it.

“It is not worth thinking about losing. Mathematically there is still a chance if we lose but we want to win two and tomorrow is a huge priority.”

Morgan has been boosted by the return of big-hitting opener Jason Roy, who is expected to play for the first time in two weeks.

Roy pulled a hamstring against West Indies and missed three matches but has returned to training this week, while England are monitoring fast bowler Jofra Archer as he continues to battle a side strain.

“Jofra is going to see how it is. It is the same thing he has been playing with the last three games. We will see how he comes through,” Morgan added.

“The exact same rule applies, if it is going to rule him out long-term then we won’t play him. If it risks him short-term, then yes.”

The advantage that hosting the World Cup brings is likely to go out of the window against India, with Morgan expecting a fervent support for the two-time winners.

But the left-handed batsman hopes local knowledge will tell, even if England have struggled to adapt to the surfaces they have been presented with so far.

India, in contrast, have thrived. Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli have scored consistent runs, while spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and paceman Jasprit Bumrah have terrorised with the ball.

But Morgan is still confident they can get the job done.

“The last time we played India we beat them in a series. This team has had success against them. We lost away in a tight series but we won here. We believe because we have won before,” he added.

“I can’t fault the commitment or application produced in every game.

“Where we have let ourselves down is adapting to conditions. It has been a bigger challenge in the World Cup than previous series we have played.

“We want to play on the best possible wicket. We always do. We bat deep and strong and we tend to play in high-scoring games so it is an area we are more comfortable playing in.”

According to media reports, Jason Roy will replace Vince & India will go unchanged. Ashley Giles reckons this will be the best batting pitch of the tournament.

:))

Imagine Roy gets a first ball duck.

All said and done. We Indian fans made fun of Kohli's statement of 270 totals are enough in a world cup. He stands vindicated. Partly due to pitch. Partly due to the world cup pressure.

Flat pitch coming up, cmon Rohit make me be your fan!

Hope his bad stretch doesn't start now. He was not out in the last match. But given out. This is how sometimes bad stretch starts. A casual dismissal followed by an umpiring error.

Edgbaston has the most spin friendly wickets with a 2,2 percentage spin ratio, Cha Ku would be licking their lips. The pitch will be fresh but the weather is getting hotter and drier. Also forcing Roy and Archer to play when not 100 % fit could back fire. Expect India to win this easily.

Joe Root is our nemesis. Always bats well against us. Butler can go either way. Let us see how the pitch behaves. If the pitch doesn't offer turn, it will be England's game to lose as India can no way compete in a battathon.

Looking like petrol pump workers

This is an embarrassing uniform

What is wrong with the uniform of petrol pump workers? Do you consider them beneath you? Do not disrespect any profession, as long as the concerned people make honest living.

Relax, Bhaijaan probably just said it in a condescending, derogatory way due to the heat. His best friends are probably pump workers.

One reason i think India might win this match is because luck is with Pakistan lol. Things are happening for them. 3 wins in a row. Now India's win will be icing on the cake.

Pak fans, don't get your hopes high, india will lose to england!
If you watch the game, then you will know why!
England will go on then to beat NZ, who look spent!

England is up for a win. Sending an Indian batting collapse and an English victory.

It is a fresh pitch, but it is going to be dry, spinners will come handy at some stage.
