Brownlie, McCullum Watling, they can all bat. As can Williamson. Wish they had Vettori lower down.

Boult can swing it - scored a crucial 20-odd at Hobart when he panicked at the sight of Chris Martin at the other end. Southee's no mug either.

GO NEW ZEALAND!

Anyone who believed NZ would chase this total down is a complete eejit.

A solid 100-run partnership's needed here.

And Broad's back into his killer mood.

Defies logic really, dunno how he keeps going in and out of this mood, he just can't control it.

Watling and Martin are both injured, unable to bat unless in an emergency.

This is gonna be a caning.

England usually get complacent right about now.

Hang in there, Kane.

I love the attacking field. Strauss used to have the standard 2/3 slips and a gully even when we were ahead by an innings. Cook is more pragmatic, he wants to wrap this up quickly.

Things have gone quiet on this thread. Just the lull before the storm.

lol what a bottle job, NZ were in a good position to win this game, England have come back superbly.

We've bottled it... hopefully Mccullum plays his natural game after lunch.

Re: England vs New Zealand | 1st Test | Lords | Day 4| 19/5/13

Embarrassing batting. Everybody seems to have got the Chris martin in them.

Brownlie with a typical Aussie demonstration on how to play swing :)))

Anderson = WOW

England vs New Zealand | 1st Test | Lords | Day 4| 19/5/13

Those two deliveries Anderson bowled were absolutely awsome!! Massive in swinger followed by a beautiful out swinger...

Well it looks like we'll have this wrapped up by tea, probably earlier. Just as i confidently predicted. There was no way in a million years NZ would chase this down against our bowlers.

Southee should sue the rest of his team for this display. As should Boult.

Haha Nasser describing the only ball he received from Anderson in competitive cricket - inswinger, LBW, first ball duck :))) :nasser

lol this is like watching England in West Indies in the 90s.

Our bats are making your bowlers look much better than they really are.. at least your batsmen have some technique against a moving ball

This is rubbish by NZ. Lost all the respect I had for them in England's first innings and restricting England to a score that conceivable to chase in the second innings.

None of them have been made double figures yet. Ridiculous.

Well done England bowling well. Would have troubled a much stronger team too. But 29/6 is just beyond belief.

Urgh this is horrible batting and great bowling.

That lbw decision was bad from davis but a fraction of the ball was in line which stays umpires call in new rules.

I just went away for a tutorial class to see all this. LOL! Even ashwin's pause delivery would last longer than the NZ top order

29-6 as I speak

29/6 just says everything! another less than 80 bowled out score. Bangladesh must both be stripped of their test status because this is simply unacceptable scoreline from them. A real Shame that very few test teams are world class and the rest are a bunch of weaklings. Real shame that hardly any countries play Cricket let alone Test Cricket.

Sneak preview of what's going to become of Australia in the Ashes, this game right here.

Lol broad just bent them over.......

I think its safe to say NZ'S batting is worse than ours.

NZ cricket will be sending an new order to South Africa for top order batsmen as we speak.

Feel sorry for our seamers. They are never backed up by the batsmen.

its a good dilemma to have in a way. SA used to be like that in a kind of way (we probably had better bats than NZ) but anytime you can take 20 wickets on a regular basis you will win more games than you will lose. I think these conditions will help NZ to be mentally strong. I hope the rest of the series is low scoring, NZ have to challenge themselves to score 150-200+.
I would rather have this NZ team than India which relies too much on posting mammoth totals.

The English Bowlers have bowled very well.
But you have to question the poor shot selection of the NewZealand Batsmen.

We should really start preparing green wickets in domestic cricket to produce some quality bats.

We've gifted Broad 2-3 and 1 was an atrocious call from Davis...
