Pak has no other clean hitter but for Fakhar, I have been saying he should open as on his day if he plays through he will bat the opposition out.
That said, if he opens you have a middle/lower order problem.. you need batsmen who can slog in the end too.
 
Why are Pakistani players always laughing and joking with their opponents during a match?

Both Rizwan and Fakhar are absolutely clueless vs. spin.

But, if you make Fakhar open, he can hit the pacers.

If you make Rizwan open, he ruins our chances of getting those runs early - he can't score fast.

That is exactly what Rizwan is doing.

Wasting Fakhar's opening slot - where Zaman can at least hit some boundaries. Rizwan can't and he scores at a snail's pace.


So, PAK knows that Rizwan can't score fast and is a liability in the middle order. So, they hide him from that position by making him open.

That's a very real problem for the World Cup.

Pak spinners cannot spin.

Imad - a darter, bowls all 'hit me please' deliveries.
Shadab - spins only a little, easily predictable googly that always goes for a six.
 
Look at Rizwan. He is so much better than the Indian hack, Shaw, who opened for Sri Lanka in the game today and the way he got bowled by an incoming delivery of the spinner.
 
Shadab should go for it so that even if he doesn't succeed, Hassan can come in.

Played 50 balls. Scored mere 66. That's criminal on this pitch. We're 125 and can't even get to a 150 total.

Good try looking at things in an isolated way.
 
Scoring runs when needed is very different from scoring runs when you have nothing to lose.

Shadab really needs to make up with good bowling otherwise his selection makes absolutely no sense.
 
Shadab is trying so hard to be a batting all rounder.

I guess in this match we'll see who is the better leg spinner right now. Shadab or Usman.
 
Misbah could not get dumber. Everyone knows Imad is better at hitting spinners and shadab prefers pace on the ball. Yet he sends in shadab ahead of him for the first time in the series, when the spinners are bowling

Shadab Khan is such a mediocre cricketer. He is only in the team because he is the vice captain. Heard about non-playing captain in tennis Pak have non-performing vice captain.
 
Don’t remember when was the last time Pak middle order batsmen even played a fluke innings. Last memorable ones were from horribly out of form Hafeez.

What kind of deluded logic is this, blame the actual guy who’s performed, why can’t we question babars last few innings, why is he wasting balls at the top, where was maqsood, Hafeez, ? But no blame the only -reason who’s holding the team together heard it all now :))

And everyone else is folding like a house of cards around him on a large pitch. The rest of team have managed one 6 while he’s hit 3.

I dont think Rizwan is as bad as you are suggesting and its like batsmen wants to open these days as its easy runs at the top, but agree its criminal to waste Fakhar down the order.
 
this is a 200 pitch it’s just that Pakistan are a clueless batting line up they have somehow made this pitch look difficult I can see England batsmen running riot here

Imad Knee's are shot. The guy can't run, his footwork while batting is very poor. He should not be played if he is going to be a liability. I am surprised no one can see it.
