I think it's slow and low like a day 1 or day 2 pitch in Dubai. But I don't think it will deteriorate very much at all - it will just get very slightly slower on days 4 and 5.
Pakistan have been so lucky with the pitches and weather conditions compared with the Sri Lankan visitors 8 weeks ago!
It's not about luck - they were playing in May, Pakistan in August. The Test that SRL played in June, they did competed well.
Apart from luck, I think lot of capability has in it as well. SRL got ENG 4 or 5 down for less than 100 both times, then allowed them to add 300+.
This wicket is not like traditional Edgebaston wicket, but it is, lot, lot, lot ................. lot seam friendly than Dubai wicket for the weather & the ball used.
At least for once, give the credit where it's due - Azhar batted brilliantly & the Old man is baking some pies.
