England v Pakistan | 3rd Test | Birmingham | Aug 3-7, 2016 | Day 3

YK has become a walking wicket now a days...no offense but I don't see his 10K coming soon...but only if he decided to stay for another 4 years.

Needs to play a few more tests in the UAE

I hope pakistans plan is not to try and bore the england batsmen to sleep and wait for moeen to come on, we need to look to score some bloody runs here

Misbah is not great at rotating the strike, Shafiq will need to take the initiative here

Yunus ruined his average in England this series due to this dancing around.

Funny thing is the 3 pitches we have played on are some of the flattest we have ever got in England, YK in his prime and without this new dancing technique would have cashed in big in this series.

So disappointing

Difficult period, but Pakistan themselves are not doing any favors. need a couple of boundaries to ease pressure. Very defensive approach by Misbah

You don't have to agree with my opinion but you can agree that a middle-order test batsman aged in the late 30's/early 40's who has averaged 23 in this series so far should probably hang up his boots and allow someone else to take his place

Twice caught down the leg side; twice fell to spinner. If we just ignore the way he has played then we could say that even when he was looking awful at the crease; he still found a way to survive. I know that shouldn't be looked as an excuse and the fans are totally entitled in criticizing his performances but just don't become blind in your criticism and lose objectivity completely.

But, yes, his chances of succeeding in Australia are far lesser than here in England. So, he definitely needs to ponder over his career after the conclusion of the series.

Just needs to rotate the strike if even if it's tricky out there, dead batting will just build pressure; no need to even take risks smashing boundaries but just look for a single. England are bowling a terrific line at the moment as well though

Just when you need a pressure releaser, who better than Steven Finn

pressure only comes when your chasing big runs..in this scenario they can easily afford to blunt the opposition and make a run or two here an there..no need to do anything stupid..we need to get past engalnds score without losing another wicket..then play from lunch to tea to build our lead..

You're totally right!!! for a second I posted like that thinking pak are 50-3 because that's how these two are batting at the moment! the pressure should be on England

We need to do the Moeen Ali Please Come on to Bowl Dance Red Devil

Misbah taking a leaf out of Azhar's book. Leaving everything outside his zone and waiting for the fuller ones to cash on.

Hang in there lads....the ball becometh oldeth once againeth

Dont like how this is going, but then again if these 2 dont lose their wickets once the ball gets softer it will be advantage Pakistan again.

Again, driving this fuller one straight this time. Four more

Way to go. Keep leaving the ones outside off, runs will come eventually against fuller and straighter ones.

Once pak get into lead them they will play positively with a bit less fear

Misbah is still psychologically scarred from all the collapses over the past 5 years, in his mind we are still 30-5. Hence why he is batting the way he is at the moment

This wicket is such a Phatta....R Ponting in his days would smash 200 in the day on this

The poor guy probably has nightmares of a Pakistan batting collapse

1st drinks, PAK could have been in complete domination without that leg flick. Still, if this pair can go to lunch, PAK'll bat for whole day.

England pacers have bowled 87 overs in this innings. They will be tiring. Might be a bit stiff for the 4th innings too which is good for us.

I think we're looking pretty good here, just need to build up a good lead and get 400+. We should be in the drivers seat by then and look to win this Test match.

:))) I can seriously vision that, what a job he has done though leading the team; what a man,

Well, he's all you'd ever want
He's the kind we'd like to flaunt and talk about at dinner
But he always knows his place
He's got style, he's got grace, he's a winner
He's a MISBAH
Oh, whoa, whoa, he's a MISBAH
Talkin' about that crazy MISBAH
And that MISBAH is Pakistan's

Don't mind them playing slow today. The key is to bat the day out and end up with a lead of at least 250. If Pakistan want to give themselves a chance here they need to ensure they bat throughout the day.

Their fitness is incredible though, you should see the emphasis it is given at the national academy in the country. I think we should do 5 press ups after every boundary we hit, that will demoralise them a lot more

Ball has swung in the first hour so our watchful approach has been sensible. You always have to be cautious in the first hour in England so no need to worry about RR.

Sun is out, conditions should ease for batting.

To be honest, Misbah XI has faced far lesser collapses than what we witnessed in the space of 12-15 test matches starting from Sri Lanka 2009 till England 2010. That was the worst period in terms of collapses.

One major collapse during Misbah's era from a position of some-sort-of-dominance was that infamous one in Cape Town 2012.

Another one could be P Sara Oval 2015, 202-2 we collapsed to 329 all out in the second innings.

The lack of wind is making conventional swing happen which wasn't there in the first few days.

Today feels like a usual day one england pitch, very worrying for Yasir

Not a good tactic here by just blocking so many balls and not getting off the mark

True but remember Finn pulled up yesterday feeling his hamstring. The longer England have to be out in the field today the better. Wear them down and our bowlers will have been well rested in the meantime.

Eng got bowled out for 290 and we are almost level with four down. Looking at this thread one would think we being slaughtered. We are playing Eng away not Zim so please enjoy the game.

What? Shafiq is still stuck on naught I just noticed that

Although we have loss two easy wickets with new ball. But encouraging thing is the people who have scored this series Misbah, Shafiq and Sarfraz are still not out. So another 150 is doable.

They need to bat atleast 2 session and 150 lead. Now ball is old, let England bowl 150 overs.

I think, there is enough swing - England in general has bowled wide & short, therefore it looks quite a good shape, but harmless, unless you play a MoHa like shot. Normally, PAK batters throw bat at those with static feet, but I think Arthur & Inzi has threatened that seniority & contacts won't keep them in service anymore.

Misbah has looked solid throughout the series but he hasnt looked better than this

Shafiq gone the collapse is starting.
