Salman Butt's captaincy has been lacklustre really. He has been fortunate throughout much of the series that the solid performances of his bowlers have helped him save face.

He has never really been tested in trying to engineer wickets through creative captaincy. The flat periods of play (like now) are an example of this shortcoming. One hopes he will learn a bit with time though, as frustrating it is as a fan to watch in the mean time!
