Odds of 22/1 for the windies is pretty high if you ask me; Definately worth a fiver cause Shiv will carry on and get a century and a lead of 150-200 is highely likely.

lol swann getting treatment from samuels. absolutely disdainful. he is so talented. that average of 30 is a joke.

England could do with a chat, some lunch and the new ball really. They look a bit lost.

windies fans should not forget its the windies after all. wont take them much time to go from 225/4 to 250 all out. all it will take is a few minutes of pure madness.

WI doing well today but still in a big hole. These two need to post tons & then they still need a wag from Ramdin & Sammy & co to get a really decent total up for England to chase.

SURELY nick knight is the most boring commentator ever? puts you to sleep.

knight just drones on and on. bumble, nass and even gower are quite good. i sometimes cant hear what "sir-mumbles-a-lot" ian has to say.

sir geoffrey was pretty awesome.

Yeah Nick bores me.

136 partnership under these match conditions, very impressive.

Gayle T20 runs against club level seamers still better? :))

Bresie been England's only decent bowler in this session.

Monster session for the Windies. Chanderpaul has been solid if unspectacular, but Samuels has been a revelation. Unbreakable versus the seamers and used his feet beautifully against Swann. If the team bats the day then they might win.

If theres solid contributions from the lower order england could be in a contest

You can count on shiv scoring a biggie if he gets support

Wouldn't go that far. There's little threat to bowl England out in less than a day.

But great fightback from the Windies. Chanderpaul just needs support. He didn't get it in the first innings but Samuels has been excellent here.

The age old question for WI, can they back it up after lunch?

The lead is only 61 and they lost their last 5 wickets for 62 runs last innings. I wouldn't get too excited unless Shiv & Samuels are still batting near the end of THIS session too.

The real test is now with the ball moving around a bit! English bowlers are not putting the ball in the right places.

YAAAAAYYYYYYY!

Bad luck Samuels, fantastic innings!

9 in the match for Broad

Feel for Samuels. Deserved a ton. Broad looking set for 10 in the match.

I ask again:
The age old question for WI, can they back it up after lunch?

Still potential for a partnership if Ramdin can concentrate hard and apply himself.

Ramdhin has scored 166 against England before but I feel that was a one-off knock TBH. Overall, that knock apart, his batting is pretty much at the Carlton Baugh Jr level. :adnan

Barring a crazy half hour yesterday, Windies have been the better team for the last two days. The scoring has been pretty slow but understandable. Their hard work will not count for much if the lead is under 200. Anything over 200 and you never know with England.

England's game to lose is this, but WI boys have acquitted themselves reasonably. Need to iron out stupid runouts for those are unforgivable donations of wickets.

Good to see the WI team at least not worse than NZ, BD or Zim... not yet, anyway. :mbangwa

Shiv has worn down England, the body language in the field isn't very enthusiastic until Ramdin gets on strike. If WI don't lose another wicket until tea, they will have a decent chance of batting the day as bad light will surely come into play tonight.

Thanks to floodlights they've been playing past six every day so far so we shall see. I'd be impressed if we bat out the day without losing another wicket: that'd be a miracle. :misbah

I remember Marlon Samuels slaughtering us in the 2007 World Cup match. Scored 63, 5 fours, 3 sixes.

England hoping to make inroads with the new ball, but they have bowled a bit too short today. Lots of beating the bat, but rarely with the batsman driving off the front foot. Chanderpaul very solid at the crease, another sizeable partnership is needed here.

It looks darker than previous days but you may be right.

Trott is bowling which means England have run out of ideas for the meanwhile. I'm not sure what irritates me more his batting or his bowling. He did get Younis Khan out in the winter but YK took him for granted.

Ramdin looking solid now.

That delivery to dismiss :yk was a peach; it usually takes something special to get YK out, hence Barbie feeling so good about rattling YK's stumps in Abu Dhabi.

Trott's an annoying personality, perhaps, but I did witness him giving kids autographs at a live game v Sri Lanka, so there are worse.

150 minimum for Windies to have a chance. Ideally they should have 250 plus with their bowling attack to win.

Why did Strauss take so long to get Swann on? He's bowled 14 overs compared to 84 for Anderson, Broad and Bresnan. Atrocious reactive captaincy.

Well done Graeme, but a terrible shot/review from Shiv.

One more quick wicket after tea and England will be confident of wrapping up this game tonight(light permitting). I wouldn't be too harsh on England , it's a flat pitch and Shiv, Samuels played very very well.

Glad to see Ramdin scoring some runs, WI desperately need a keeper who can bat. Ramdin looks to have a sound technique these days.

Lets see if Sammy can hang with him.

Sammy playing paradiso shots.

141 lead for 6.

England need to take this more seriously, it's a promising lead.

Very reckless by sammy, he was starting to chase everything and shouldve been more responsible

it's the way he always plays, he's picked as somewhat of an allrounder but in reality his runs are scored more like a slogging number 9 than a real batsman.

I've seen him try to play properly, he usually doesn't get past 10-15 then. He's a lower order slogger, and he gets more runs when he plays his shots.

Why sammy will never be a good batsman. Never trusts himself to play like a proper batsman, always feels the need to slog and go after anything he can. Needs to learn to leave the ball at time and play with a little bit of responsibility.

Anything under 300 doesn't seem enough, but West Indies have shown spirit here at least getting a 150 lead. It's a chance though a very small one.

It's a mental thing for Sammy. He has the talent with the bat. Some of those shots were awesome.

Seems to be that England are trying very hard to make a game of it here. 200-odd could be tricky!

What's the most number of wickets got in a test? Surely Broad is close.

This is the problem with this tail, theres a steady batsman at the other end but the tail arent willing to put their head down to support him

Jimmy's grumpy. He wants his wickets! Hasn't got much despite being fairly decent.

There you have another problem with Sammy's batting, it influences the rest of the tail. Cue Roach wicket.

Jimmy has been no more than okay in this test apart from on the first morning.

Swann underused to an astonishing degree.

Thank the Lord for Stuart Broad.

Oh excellent! Jimmy vs. Fidel! They have some history from the last Windies tour to England!

First tenfer at Lord's by an England bowler since Botham got 11 against Pakistan in 1978, says TMS.

Come on Broady, get five!

The New Stuart Broad Laws of Cricket

It's always out whenever I'm bowling.
I'm never out whenever I'm batting.

:))

Wickets always fall when I start working on my homework. Strange. I think I will wait a minute for Broad to get on and then get working on my homework so he can get his 5-fer

Leave your homework till at least lunch tomorrow. Or if you have to do it today, do a lot all throughout tomorrow as well :wahab

are england good chasers?
is the ball still moving around?

couple of questions to ponder. but nah i think england will win this.

Whatever the result WI have done better in this first test than India did in 4. They have fought hard and it's nice to see a Windies team who shows a lot of courage and pride something Chris Gayle could learn from.

Another 20 runs to get past 200 would be great for WI and they will feel as chance of victory. England still very much favourites to chase it down.

anything can happen a fidel magic spell or a Gabriel debut wonder spell.

We live in hope. :) And don't forget captain Sammy, who's taken eight for 98 in a Test in England before (Old Trafford, 2007, on début).

345 all out. Decent effort. Now time for a short sharp bowling shift - three wickets please, not greedy! :))

All out. 191 to win. :ajmal

200 would have been nice but still a fighting chance. It may be a good thing with 7 overs left(after change over), a couple of wickets here and it could be an interesting day 5.

Under 200, thankfully didn't hit that psychological barrier. Wonder if Boycott has any homes left to bet?
