I'm sure there was even something on the back edge of the bat of hotspot if someone can zoom in.

DRS is becoming an extra burden to all the umpires. Creating more controversies than helping in decisions. 50% stumps rule, hot spot are just a joke!

Umpires call shouldn't result in a lost review.

I don't know, hotspot is retarded at times.

But that sound, it just didn't sound like bat on ball to me

Normally that can be attributed to the taping around the bat. The dull noise was most likely that.

3 good batsmen in the hut. Need to get Belly boy early. Should be a cracking day ahead!

lunch.... the session belongs to the aussies.... england need to be more positive or else they will edge in their defence.

even if Aussies cant win this match, atleast they will be relieved alot. By keeping Eng in pressure.

More like 1 in 8 :)))

I am curious. If whether Hotspot shows an edge or not makes no difference whatever even on review, why have it at all? Charity?

Root will be a big man by this evening if he sees this out for England :boycott

Khawaja must be dying with laughter looking at KP's dismissal. Justice served! Love these moments

Don't see why? KP was out and Khawaja wasn't.

Leaving snicko aside, both the dismissals were clearly judged solely on same criteria. Bottomline - DRS sucked. But yeah, KP was clearly out

Root will be there, rest will bottle it....
Prior and Bell have saved quite a few games in the past. The lower order is quite doughty too with big Brezza holding up the fort. I have to say, the top order with Cook and Trott being mentally shot is the most unconvincing part of this lineup.

Only good thing about lunch is that Rhino will be fit and firing afterwards.

How can you say that?

They were both finalised by the 3rd umpire and both would've been given out id DRS wasn't there anyway.

KP with just one hundred in the 4th innings, he isn't the hope under these conditions.

As obvious as it gets. KP was clearly over reacting

He was trying to make it look as if it was the fault of the umpire that he was out and not his so that at the end of the day people say "what a horrendous decision" rather than "what a horrendous shot" haddin used those same tactics in the 1st Test.

Bell has changed from the cowardly Dingdong of old into a booming Big Ben. His long rearguard in the fourth test in India secured our series win.

But that is the purpose of DRS, isn't it? DRS is good, but it can get a lot better! 3rd umpire had no choice, he was just going by the rules book

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Was a very faint knick. I reckon it grazed the back of the bat so its reasonable that he thought he didn't hit it.

Doesn't hide the fact Kawaja wasn't out and it showed on replays. He hit his pad with his bat and that was the noise. Yet he gave him out. That was a howler, despite the evidence provided.

DRS is not to blame but the stupidity of the umpires.

Honestly, on current form I would have Rogers and Warner over Cook and Trott. They have been shambles

Agree but I felt the inclination to give that out was because of the 'on field decision'. That rule needs to be mended and we'll see much better decisions from DRS. Why the heck does an on field decision matter when the same thing was challenged? If you're using technology, use it 100% or better don't bother

Somehow I have a feeling that England will be 8 wickets down and bad light will stop play

You know when you have hit the ball it's only those very very thing edges that don't show and the pietersen one was not very thin as the audio clearly proved.
