Checked the Met forecast for next 3 days and no such luck-cludy for tomorow and sunny for sunday...

so India are on to a hiding...

Best we send the India A team for 4th and send these inglorious bestyrds off to play some more IPL/CL 20.

Allritght remove Dravid & Praveen fro the list-rest should be packed off with a no return label stuck on...

Posted my thoughts above.

Losing hurts yes will admit it, it hurts a lot but can take it in the stride.

But what hurts even more is the surrender from the team and the abject horrible manner of surrender.

It aint even going down all guns blazing, but more of bend karke lein waale leye jaao jinni leni hai

Other than RD & PK and maybe VVS the rest should be stripped of their contracts and endorsements and should be banned from Test Matches.

In all due seriousness, maybe India should retire from Test matches for a while.
 
If either Shastri or Gavaskar had any sense of ethics whatsoever they would stop commentating.

Can't believe they have the hide to keep going. You listen to commentary to hear opinions not PR.
 
So, 244 ahead with 7 wickets in hand. 80 or so overs to go. Then another 2 days.

Hmmm, what is the record losing margin in Test cricket?

There's still one Test left, and we are yet to bat on the 2nd Innings, we can draw this hopefully and win the match in Oval. Next time onward we should avoid away tours and just play most of our tests at home Away only against WI, NZ, Zim, Bangla etc

i dreamt that ishant and sreesanth blew off england in 60 minutes today.....and both these bowlers bowled with great fire.. even one english batsmen was badly hurt by ishant...

My thought exactly.... as a true fan, all you want is ....fight till you lose. I don't mind losing if you lost giving your 100%.

lol.... no Indian team is not as bad as ours... which has been really destroyed by idiotic decisions by PCB and internal politics. At least you guys don't have to deal with that.

You guys had a wonderful run of 51,000 runs batsmen. They had to get old and go some day.... and team moral had to come down. Look at Australia.... most seniors leave at the same time... and see what happened to them.

India has always produced great batsmen.... and one by one... you'll get decent batsmen playing for you once RD, SRT and VVL leave.

Pace bowling has always been an issue.... but good spinners covered for the pace deficiency. Your real problem is .. that you don't have wicket-taking spinner right now.

Don't worry.... I think, this season... most of your home matches will be played on spinning wickets to give Mishra, Harbhjan, Ojha or Chawla some confidence and experience.... or to win some matches after this horrible tour.
 
good grief the bowling speeds are just pathetic ...its only been 5 or s6 freaking overs and they are hitting low 120's

We have got the curse of the IPL. Never had been a fan of it from the start.You guys had a wonderful run of 51,000 runs batsmen. They had to get old and go some day.... and team moral had to come down. Look at Australia.... most seniors leave at the same time... and see what happened to them.
Now i dont know whether to laugh or to cry to see these batsmen struggling. Dravid has redeemed himself-but SRT is long due to pack off, should have done it on April 2nd

That is the worst possible thing BCCI can do. They should organise a few more away tours to tough oppos-so that the new generation can make up for the lack of talent with the mental toughness. Gary & Upton seemed to have flicked off the mental toughness switch while leaving-it has vanished overnight.


Dont reckon we will producing any talent anytime soon, but am happy with even mediocrity if it is performed with a stong will ala PK

How many runs have we conceded in the 3rd man area in this series?

Gotta be 150+ at least.

Excellent point... but the thing is that will (or even ability) to grind has has disappeared in general from world cricket.... this is where ODIs and T20 cricket is to be blamed.

Players can't do it because they have been playing too much T20 and ODi cricket.
Fans don't want it because they have been seeing too much T20 and ODi cricket. Just look at the PPers here dishing it out to Misbah's TUK TUK batting ... when he is averaging 50+ in test cricket.

IMO the think is that the Asian bloc (IND,PAK,BANG (??)) as such dont seem to enjoy the nuances of test cricket-even in India the attention to it perked up only because we were doing well in it and were #1
Otherwise i think there is an attention deficit from the players to the spectators regarding the percieved slow nature of test matches.

Viewers in Asia want more of ODI's and T20's prolly becuase they have forgotten how absorbing a test match can be and maybe also that how hard work it is.

Sometimes IMO cricket is a mirror image of the culture and feel as the moment the Asian Bloc is more interested in the bling bling than just doing hard work.

For eg. in India Dravid the true matchwinner of the last decade in the test arena will always be overshadowed by SRT-even though prolly RD has won us more than SRT (you are the statsguru).

Or even forgetting SRT there are ignoramuses who will rate UV >> RD.

Come on which other player in the history has donned wicket keeping gloves to keep the balance or opened the innings even though isnt an opener. Yet his position has always been on the radar!

Disgusting and pathetic....
