If anybody from the team is reading this thread;

DO NOT PANDER TO THE FANS' DEMANDS. THIS ISN'T ODI DEATH OVERS. DO WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND BAT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

Thanks.

India should declare tomorrow morning. Get the lead past 500 and then declare. India will have more than enough time to get England all out in the 2nd innings.

Pitch looks beautiful to bat on. The occasional ball is doing a lot, but overall, very good batting conditions.

More batting practice for the Indian batsmen. English bowlers getting more tired. Win-win situation for India :)

Also has the troll value of getting the England team in full fielding gear, and then have them bat after a few overs; I love it!

England did a mistake by not playing Sam Curran. He would have been amazing considering the swing Indian bowlers got.
Not to forget, he also scores runs down the order.

Rashid should be replaced by Curran for the 4th Test.

Exactly. Remember what happened last time. South Africa nearly chased 456

Rashid is a trash test player. Moean ali would have done better

Finally, this high profile series has live up to it's potential. Going to last 2 Tests 2-1, with two remaining venues favoring each side once, this is what a 5 Test series can provide.

Root has won all 3 tosses and he had made one blunder - I expect Kohli to win at least one toss and if it's at Southampton, this can be the first time a touring team had come back to win a 5 Test series 3-2, after losing first 2 (Brandman's 1936-37 team did that at home).

However, this game still shouldn't be easy for IND bowlers - Trentbridge has a tendency to get better with time (slower, which helps sticking around for long), IND should bat as long as possible, may be till 1 hour into Day 4 and set 600+ for bowlers to get 10 wickets in 170 overs. No rain to save Poms here.

Will india declare once score reaches 450 or 500? Or they will bat till end?

India have to bat long. Try and get the pitch to wear.

No point in declaring with 2 and a bit days left if you give England's batsmen a chance to get in on a decent wicket. Wear the team down, wait for the pitch to deteriorate, and then go for it.

I know India got 10 wickets pretty quickly in the 1st innings. But its not swinging nearly as much as yesterday, and England won't collapse like that everytime. Plenty of overs left...just bat time. The lead is already big enough.

Kohli can get as many runs as he wants, a chance for Rahane to build on confidence in the first innings. If either of them get out, Hardik and Pant can go hell for leather.

James Anderson in TB:

vs India: Four Tests; 184.5 overs; 13 wkts; Avg 42.61; SR 85.3; Best 3/51

vs Rest: Six Tests; 262.1 overs; 50 wkts; Avg 13.58; SR 31.5; Best 7/43 (7 X 5-fers)

That sums up how better India is in Tentbride than rest of the teams

Ideally, India should be looking to bowl at least 20 overs to England this evening. I don't think :ravi is thinking that way though given the meandering run rate during the afternoon session.

So what mattered was him scoring in England? What about the runs he scored all this time in SA, Aus etc.

Come on now. Everyone knows that if it's not in England, it doesn't matter. Why do you think the Queen lives there? Coincidence? I think not.

Should slightly look to up the rate in this post tea session.

Glad Rahane is out there and not Pujara.

Swann and Manjrekar aren't being very complimentary of Pujara's innings - rightly so.

Kohli and Rahane need to up the scoring rate a bit. Just blocking alone will not do the trick.

Pitch looks flat now. If it stays this way, England can survive here too. They have players who can do that.

Just score at 4 an over and declare the inning tomorrow morning 10 overs into the day.

Pujara started well, but went into a shell like he normally does.

Another pathetic drop by Jennings. If he doesn't score in the second innings, that should be it as far as his England career is concerned.

58th international hundred for the king. :sachin

I didn't even realize that he has got so many !

Kohli needs to attack a bit more now.

There is cloud cover and Clouderson is getting some swing. But it is still good batting conditions.

Rahane is playing for the draw.

Rahane going slower than Pujara at the moment.

Needs to accelerate.

They should at least bat till lunch tomorrow. More batting practice for us, and more tired English bowlers for the remaining games.

Out goes Pant.

Starting to flounder a bit.

Next targets for Kohli:

April-England with fit Anderson!
Rank-turner India against O'Keefe & Lyon!
80's, 90's style WACA Perth pitch with Mc.Grath re-incarnated!

Anything else?

Why do we need to score fast? There is still two days. Just keep Eng on the field as long as you can. Its not about runs here anymore

Pandya should have a slog.

"That's the way he plays."

Not the pseudo defensive crap from the first innings.

Pandya has good judgement outside his off stump. Looked more assured than Rahane who seem to be poking when the ball is just outside off stump.

Kohli is the best of his era , but we cannot put him ahead of tendulkar and Gavaskar in test matches

A quick 35 ball 50 from Pandya here will get Michael Holding closer to retirement.

Scoring 300 runs twice and bowling England out twice below 200 should be some kind of moral victory going into next tests (Hopefully first they achieve the actual victory without weather or the long English batting order on easing pitch + Ashwin's unavailability/half-strength won't mess up things!)

When was the last time Rahane scored a run?

and what if it starts raining on 5th day and day is washed out?

They should have declared a hundred runs ago. England will not survive three sessions, let alone six. They are not equipped to.

Guess India want batting practice.

We want to do to you what you did to us in second test and not repeat SA blunder of 2013.

George Dobell: Stokes is holding the back of his left leg. Around the knee area. Bit of a limp, too, I reckon.

Pros of batting on and on - we're making them fall apart.

If we don't declare within the next over we might as well continue batting through tomorrow.

England will just slot Curran back in. Arguably that would be a stronger side at present.

Why are India batting again ? Is someone injured ? The England openers would be dreading the prospect of being asked to bat tonight. It's a pretty ordinary decision by Kohli.

I'm starting to get a little frustrated...

This is why I don't give a **** how many wickets or runs he gets pandya will always be a selfish coward, he didn't want the strike in the 1st game because being not out was more important than trying to win, now his 50 is more important than any thing team wants so no strike for shami even though it was a simple single.

Last time at Trent Bridge we never declared.... but that was Dhoni.
