What's new

England vs Pakistan | 5th ODI | Leeds | May 19th, 2019 | England innings

What happened to the 400???

No Roy, and Bairstow and Buttler didn’t fire. It happens.

It is nothing to celebrate and our team doesn’t deserve any praise. They still look good for 320-330, and our batting limit seems to be 350.

Ridiculous mentality.

Average has been 86mph throughout the series.

That is absolutely not why we have him in this team . . I am sure both Hassan and Shaheen have been quicker if not similar than Hasnain on average . .
We don't need him to be bowling 91 mph twice . . we need him to be averaging over 90 mph . . thats why he is in the team! Wahab Riaz can bowl quicker than him and go for teh same amount of runs (if not less)

Pakistani fans are doing bhangra and mocking England for scoring 295-7 in 44 overs (instead of 400) after winning the series.

Sums up the minnow mentality of our fans, but this is what 15 years of mediocrity does to you. The day isn’t far when we will be handing out mithai for “only” losing by 50 runs or 2-3 wickets.
Lol losing with respect is better than humilation

Oh yes England struggling and there’s something in it for the bowlers! :)))

Hope we knock the target off with ease.

Good comeback from Shaheen after a miserable showing in his first 2 x ODIs. Bowling a lot quicker as well.

Imad has had a good 2019 in ODIs. Just sick of hearing on here, as the scapegoat of this series for Pakistan.

The criticism has been deserved in this series, relied far too much on his arm ball and England started reading him.

Primarily because our international team did not play a single match for 3-4 years, but that is a discussion for another thread.

Yup. On the bright side, a Norwegian-Pakistani player became the first South asian to play the Champions League last season. Ghayas Zahid, he played against Real Madrid.

Against India WIlley scored 50 in 30 balls right at the end to push them to 320 when they were collapsling. This guy is a better batsman than Woakes. Not sure why he was not sent up. He is the guy who smoked Nathan lyon for 34 runs in one over.

Not really, 295-7 with only 6 overs left means we’re very much in the game. We made 340+ last 3 matches that’s why we’re content with this total so far.

Yes it will be a memorable moment in the history of Pakistan cricket if this series ends 3-1 to England instead of 4-0.

What happened to the 400???

Ignore this troll man I asked him something very genuine today which he had no answer to so he just ignored it and said I don’t have time to answer that but every time pakistan is winning he disappears from the forum and soon as we get bashed he logs on super fast to say ish about the team he was even saying 500 he’s a complete tool ignoring him is best

Playing England without 2 proper spinners is simply putting your bowling attack to the slaughter. England would've scored 35-40 runs less each game if we had 2 proper spinners in the team who could flight and spin the ball.

Nah, he was awful in the Australia series tbh.

Imad has scored 5 x 50s in his 10 innings this year at an average in excess of 50 at a SR of 140. He's been one of the few performing players this year.

With the ball, his role primarily defensive as a second spinner and he's done well if you look at his economy this series, compared to the other Pakistani bowlers.

340-350 looks like the final score. Hopefully Pakistan bats with the same pace as they did in the previous matches. But knowing Pakistan, they will look to chase 50 of 24 at the end.

Man I miss the days of Steve Rixon when were fielder better than NZ in NZ.... This Grant guy is just making a quick buck with zero performance.

Once Pakistan starts winning Expect this poster to hide for a few days. He goes into depression. When Pakistan won CT 2017 it took him 3-4 days to return to pakpassion.

Hasan Ali with an ongoing habit of getting smashed atleast once in an over.

As an Indian I am more fearful of Australians than the English. Australia with a potent batting attack and probably the best bowling attack will challenge us more than the poms.

Vernon Dursley was a great fielding coach. The standards have dropped alarmingly after he left.

India are favourites in my view solely because of the spin attack.

Pakistan bowling has been sensational in the last hour or so. The fielding continues to let us down though.

Not sure what is per score today - might be ENG already has enough. It's Leeds and today it's cloud covered, new ball should swing.

Julien Fountain was the one who did make a difference and should have been offered a better contract to keep him on as Rixon just continued the work left by him.

They are mentally stronger than every other team. But England has won 10 out of the last 11 matches against Australia. Mentally scarred.

Still don't feel confident about Hasan Ali, going into the WC. He's a shadow of what we saw in the CT.

Yes both sides are gonna be dangerous if surfaces are like these.

Pakistan team starts taking catches and England has barely crossed 300. Proves Pakistan team needs a fielding psychologist so to make less misfields and drops.

Damn this curran can bat as well :) Their depth will always ensure they get 300 runs every time. May be the pitch is a bit sticky or something? I don't see ball is coming on nicely to the bat.

Okay Shaheen needs to bowl two yorkers and he will get his five wickets but will he do it?

Guys can we have a few praises for Pakistan restricting England to a below 'par' score?

If not, please keep your traps shut when the shoe is on the other foot :inti

The fielders are almost the same. Have they forgotten all they were taught? Seems its just laziness and lack of interest. Need someone with Danda as usual.

In CT 17 pitches were providing much more assistance and more than that it was dry conditions and thus reverse swing was in the game. If conditions are anywhere near CT 17 style I wont be surprised to see Hassan Ali giving some good performances.

Sir you should know better it is just the "law of averages" catching up with England :inti

Shaheen may have picked 3 wickets but look at that economy though.... cannot afford two wayward kids in Shaheen and Hasnain in the side. I'm amazed that raw Hasnain was picked over Rauf.

Nahhh I miss the 90s team. They would have scored 400 with ease against this bowling attack. You keep giving the impression we've made substantial progress because we've score 3 x 340+ scores, but you've failed to factor in the deviation from par score, which is what actually matters.

Now the commies are discussing about potential collapse in the world cup :) Lot of self-doubts even with 311 runs on the board. No talk about bowling well? lol

He's bowling rubbish at the death again. Hasn't landed one yorker successfully.

Tall claims, based on what exactly?

Yar Sarfraz why not give Hafeez a few in overs 40-45? Shaheen is not that skilled to contain runs in the death overs.

Pak giving it away yet again.
