I am genuinely concerned about Haris Sohail now . . I have a feeling he is not going to be in the starting XI to accommodate Hafeez at 4 because Hafeez doesn't want to play at 5 or 6 . .

if that's the case, thats typical Pakistan self destruction before even stepping on to the field

I think he is in remand for his run out last time and rightly so. The skills that he has (not only with bat, can turn more than Imad & one of the safest hands at slip), if I had the power, I would have squeezed him in those olden days sugarcane crasher and extract 35lbs of fat lying under his skin.

Both you and I know the Paksitan team management, their ability to make absolutely baffling decisions and their penchant for giving into Hafeez's demands . . (btw, I think Hafeez is a must in this team . . but at number 6) . .

Hafeez has made his case that he wants to bat number 4 . . Captain has said he wants to bat number 5 (he's useless below that anyway) . . and Shoaib has been given the finisher role (number 6) prior to the tournament with both Sarfaraz and Mickey hinting at it . . sooo . . where does that leave Haris? I think he's our back up middle order batsman . . which is why that run out makes me more mad . . he was on his way to a sparkling century!

One dynamic change in English game is that they have come out of old thoughts. England was always more conventional (than Aussies) when it about how to play the game of cricket or when it comes to change in a concept, but TB (another Aussie, no wonder) has forced them to come out of their traditional thinking.

Poms know that they have a very good bottom half, so their top order goes after from ball 1. More or less ENG always had a decent tail, because of the countless “all-founders” they had in Counties and their fundamental thought process always was runs from spinners”, but never seen them bringing that bottom half in equation. In 1979 Final, they had Chris Old & Hendricks at 10-11..... still chasing 290 ish total (60 overs), they were like 125-0 after like 40 overs!!!! Then they ran towards a big bird......
