It will be interesting to see how experts would rate pakistan if they win.
A win against the no.1 after a heavy loss would be something unprecedented.

Yeah odds are completely stacked against us but Pakistan team needs to realize how much pride a win can bring

Win or lose I just want the guys to give whatever they have. It’s a perfect opportunity for them to redeem themselves
 
Honestly the only change I would make is Asif for Imad.

Perfect team, I hope we don't see Shoaib Malik jumping on the crease to Jofra Archer and Mark Wood and ultimately getting out in an awkward position with his one leg towards east direction, the leg towards west, his head towards north and his bat towards south. I don't want to see that scene again. Keep faith in Haris, he will come good.

Wahab won’t be dropped. If Shaheen will replace anyone it’ll definitely be Hassan.

If they play Malik it’ll be an absolute joke. Atleast Asif will hit a 6 or two against the short ball. Malik will be dancing around the crease

Why not? If it's a flat belter, Pakistan can make 350 and your batters will gain some confidence. On a pitch with extra bounce, Archer and Wood might bounce you guys out cheaply and your batsmen will be shattered. They won't have any confidence for the rest of the tourney.
 
Inzi selected the team for 1st match i think 11 was perfect sarfraz wanted asif
Mickey wanted malik
But inzi picked a perfect 11 it was one odd collapse . We should stick with haris at 4 hafeez at 6 eventually it will come good. Hafeez at 4 sarfraz at 5 asif at 6 means we have very short lineup and malik less said the better
 
I don't understand why is Inzi picking the playing 11?.I thought the captain and coach decide the playing 11?

This is just getting beyond bizzare. The closer Inzi is getting to this team the more they are getting destroyed. Mentally and physically.
 
Pitch will be a total belter like previous match of ours here. I pray that we win, but not sure what will happen.

following things can happen (based on past experience of our team):

1- If England bats first, they will comfortably score 400.
2- If Pakistan bats first, we will tumble below 300. (even 200 if we have a collapse)
3- If Pakistan bats second, we will surely tumble below 200 as there will be pressure of 400 score & short pitch bowling (our nemesis since south african tour)

As always, we will seem to be affected by pitch more than there is. And even the flattest of the flattest wicket will have seam & swing movement while we bat and will be used as justification for our poor technique, temperament & short selection.

The best possible scenario? Let's pray to Allah that it rains. Ameen. That way we will get half points, better than zero points.

On a flat belter England super-human batters will outgun whatever Pakistan can set, even 400

Pakistan's ideal pitch would be a dry track with little bit of reverse swing to offer in middle to late overs and that also makes Pakistan's half decent spin options potent

On a bouncy or flat belter pitch England would be massive favorites

Yes they start as favourites on flat and bouncy tracks but I still think, win or lose, they would prefer a flat track to one with extra bounce. Especially after what Russell and Oshane did to them on 31st.
 
It will be 50-50 if Pakistan bowl first. People here know that. They just don't want to Jinx and intentionally keeping their hopes down.

This management is total stupid
They played hafeez at 4 and Asif at 6 in Eng series
And here they come in WC opener , Asif is out Hafeez slips to 6
Asif should come in hafeez should play at 4
 
Pak vs England match should be on weekend

hi can you guys tell me why Pak vs England match ain't on weekend ? i though every year ICC decide to put important matches on weekend.
England is Second home for pak.. can some one please share your view on this .thanks

As if Haris made any difference. If averages were anything that determined performance then you should be backing Sarfraz cuz he’s done better than most in England since 2016
 
Anyone seen the news about the pitch? We're going to be playing on the pitch where England have twice broken the record for higher ODI total.

No way are we winning this game.

Game against afghanistan is also on weekend. I dont think it matters much. Frankly, given our recent record, we should be thankful for not having to qualify for the world cup
 
Shaheen should play in place of Wahab. Hassan should also be dropped for Hasnain but Management won't do that.

Expecting another barrage of short pitch deliveries by Archer and Wood. If that don't work, they you have the swing destroyer Woakes who loves bowling against us.

Then you have 2 bowlers in Wahab and Hasan who can both go for plenty and I expect Bairstow and Co to smash them to all parts

How can I back Sarfaraz can't back himself despite being the captain?

Sarfaraz did very well in the England series in 2016 at 5, yet decided to hide himself down the order.
 
They should really drop Imad, but for some reason he is seen as undroppedable.

With that in mind, and the fact that one of Malik/Hafeez has to play becuase they are EXPEREINCED SENIORS i would drop Haris for Asif, which isnt what i want to do, but asif needs to be in the side.

Also shaheen for Riaz.

Pakistan should go in with 5 pacers, it’s not like their lower orders gonna do much
 
30% chance of rain 2PM onwards. Seems match will be decided on DLS. Both teams will want to bowl first.

Disappointed shaheen won’t be playing

He is our only bowler in recent times to not be trash, and the pitches are bouncing but we will go with AGRESSIVE PHAAST EXPERIENCED failure Riaz instead
 
I would like to see Imad Wasim open with the ball and Wahab bowling yorkers. Also drop Haris and play Asif.

For some odd reason my original reply to this got deleted but the article you read was incorrect. The 444 strip was the one Pakistan got bowled out for 105 on. The strip used tomorrow is the 481 strip.
 
There is a 10% chance of beating England. We bat first they will chase it down, we bat second, we won't reach the target because we can't chase.

No idea how some fans are confident of beating England tomorrow.

Really looks gloomy for Pakistan. It will come down to run rate for team like pakistan even if we have our fluke going. How will we get semi final's berth?
 
And i think england will want to improve run rate too, so they will bowl first if they win the toss, so that they can chase target cheaply.
 
I feel England will be arrogant and the pitch won't be as conducive for smashing it all parts they will fall for a middling score in their desire to reach 400+ and Pakistan will crawl their way to a win.
 
Nees to be proactive specially batting first but Eng are drilled for chasing heck we are in catch 22

Coaching staff has failed massively

Get a team consultant like Jayawerdene Kallis Fleming for WC

That’s the only blunder that can bring Pakistan in the game. It might not be tomorrow but-sooner or later England are going to do that in some match
 
The key to beating this English side is to let them bat first. Don't let them chase. They'll even get 350 with ease. Sadly though, batting second and chasing a score has never been Pakistan`s strength!

It's classic catch 22. We're bound to lose chasing a big target (or any target), but we're bound to lose with England chasing. What can we do? :genius
 
Expect another big lose.

I can only see Pakistan turning this opposite if Amir carries his form an picks up some wickets with new ball, given Pakistan score runs.
