News all over Pakistani media channels right now, apparently Shehzad has tested positive and is facing a ban. But no details, vague stuff so far.

Yeah just read it .his sample was taken during the domestic tournament which reports are positive
2 options(according to one media)
If pcb want they can take another dop test
Second they can ban for minimium 3 months

Blessing in disguise...the only way he could’ve been dropped lol

PCB can't name the player at the moment until the chemical report is confirmed by the Anti-Doping Agency, but I've had it on good authority that the player is Ahmed Shehzad.

Great news ban him for good.:yasir

Shehzad was lucky to be recalled to pakistan squad after sharjeel shot himself on foot but this time his luck run out of time because sahibzada was pushing for his inclusion from quite some time after strong performances in domestic and another good news is that farhan will have now weak oppostion to make a debut which can give him solid start to career

good riddance

I always wanted him to succeed for his desire and attitude to play aggressive cricket at early stages of his career.

Instead of choosing to continue to work hard, he choose to align himself with Afridi and media mafia, and idolized. And media backed him no matter how bad you play we will always fight for you in many tv channels and reports.

I read Shoaib Akhtar's autobio, where he mentioned how Afridi with support of media always made it into the team. And how Afridi reciprocate it with giving huge gifts to media gang...

Anyway, he deserve to take break from cricket, focus on his weaker areas, and come back strong as an improved player

Here for the lawyers who defend spot fixing to explain the mitigating circumstance about this one

Well if it's true he will be hit with a ban. Doubt he'll be avaliabe for the WC.

They already have a B sample which is collected at same time as the tested sample. So they can chose to test the B sample as well if they think something is wrong with the testing.

I agree that we are all happy... but you have to feel for the guy, imagine the criticism he's receiving now and the impact it'll have on his relatives. No point in being happy in someone elses loss

Nothing personal but hes not good enough for the Pak team.

Hopefully we don.t see nightmare of hafeez or azhar(odis)as a next opener for odis and t20

This thread is disrespectful to Ahmed Shehzad. Must give him the benefit of the doubt

I almost never say this about a player and I do feel sorry for the player in question but if it is Ahmed Shehzad then....Good riddance!

I do wonder what he tested positive to...my bet is a recreational drug as opposed to performance enhancing.

conspiracy, someone probably had spiked his drink.
He is very photogenic to be not selected in Pak squad.

On a serious note, Pak has better opener than him.

Potentially could end his career under Mickey. Maybe it would be best if Pakistan tried to find a different opener. Mickey won't like this but we fans are glad to hopefully see someone new tried to open with Fakhar in ODI.

Great news. I think I read somewhere that PCB is considering Hafeez or Shan Masood as T20 opener. Not good at all. They need Sahibzada Farhan and the best time is now.

A shocker like ban ,may compel him to mend his ways .
Waqar Younis was damn right in his reports.

Guys take it easy with the hate... You need a lot of strength to keep your arm placed at the ideal position for that perfect selfie

Sounds like a conspiracy to defraud Pakistan cricket :ibutt: of one of its biggest stars ahead of the World Cup next year. :)

Given Shehzad's woeful performances and inability to get dropped, I wouldn't be surprised if a Pakistani fan mixed it in his lassi:))

may be he took some thing to get relief of the head injury?

I would have taken more interest in this story had it been an important member of the national team.

Warning Please don't post making assumptions about substance. It's all rumors. No confirmed substance.

If it keeps him away from the team I would take that . Anything that would I would take that ! Good riddance

Career ending event if true. I feel extremely sorry for him and his family. Its going to destroy his livelehood and life. I hope it turns out to be false. This is very sad.

If the allegations are true, he would have nobody else to blame but himself.

Pakistan cannot afford losing him. I hope he clears the second test and available for WC.

Of course, without any qualms. If it turns out true, im just thinking about him and his family. He just had a baby son and how is it going to affect his life? This is very heart breaking to hear. No one deserves to have such a damning setback.

REPORTS SUGGEST HE WOULD BE BANNED FOR UPTO 2 YEARS.

Bad for him. Yes, he did not deserve to be in the national team. But, atleast he would have made money from PSL, T10, BPL, CPL and UAE T20 League and other domestic cricket.

This is sad. But again, it's what it is! You are of a few who were selected amongst crores to represent your country.

You have to know what you are doing. If not this world won't show any mercy.

Must be really tough on the management to find a replacement for such a class player...:yk

That will be great if he's banned for 2 years.

will shezzy come out with the press conference like this....:dw

Or he 'll say he took it by mistake :yasir

Why would a batsman take a banned substance? I can understand if it is a bowler.

Somebody wants Prince to be dropped permanently.

Ahmed Shehzad's second sample is not yet confirmed and he is innocent till proven guilty.

I find the attitude of people rejoicing in his tough times - someone who has played in national colors with pride - despicable.

May he be proven innocent but not be part of the team on performance grounds.

Don't be too harsh on an individual. Yes, he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the team, but he would have done this by mistake. Don't feel happy on others' failures.

That was his bread and butter. He has a wife and a child.

Yes, Shahzad is less talented than Akmal, but he really has fitness and is not as ignorant as Akmal.

It's his bad fate that he chose cricket, which is not his cup of tea(internationals), above that he chose Afridi as his mentor.

Afridi was a superstar on his own, and by the time Afridi became superstar he already had performances(early on in his career) atleast to back himself. But shehzad thought Afridi would be with him always, to back him and started to follow him. Sadly, he left the team, and now he's no one to his rescue.

I am not asking for his inclusion, but it's just that we shouldn't be happy when someone loses his bread and butter.

Wasn't Raza Hasan banned for 2 years by the PCB for taking banned drugs? Expect a similar punishment for Shehzad then.

Top post and everyone rejoicing over this should hang their head in shame especially after reading this.

Everyone has wife and childrens are not many are lucky to be in position like him. I didn't tell him to take banned substances he did and he should pay for it and to be honest he probably already he made enough money by playing anyway.

Never liked this wanna be :kohli anway!

If he really doped, hopefully they ban him for 2 years. Don't want to see him play for Pakistan ever again.

Terrible, arrogant and disrespectful attitude. No performance since for ever. King of dot balls and now doping allegations

Good bye to Shehzad. He, the Akmals and Hafeez should never play for Pakistan again.

If we are working for an employer, we all know what the consequences can be if we do wrongdoing or take risks detrimental to the well being of the company and get caught. As a professional sportsman, Shehzad should know better especially with his livelihood at stake.

*If true*

His fans will be garnering any excuse and hope possible...meanwhile Pakistan fans be like...:))

"But but but Shehzad would never do this. He only did it because of the pressure the anti Shehzad lobby in the PCB placed on him. First he was made curb his aggressive strokeplaying by Misbah and Co., ruining his career single handedly, and then he has to suffer abuse from all the jelly haters. He didnt do it! Its a conspiracy by all the ex pros jealous of his swagger and style. Poor Shezzy. I'll always believe you!! #fightagainstPCBconspiracy :hug :hug :hug "

Sincerely, Shehzads twitter likes feed in about 48 hours time

So the clown is the one who took the banned substance and made a fool of himself.

But its the fans who should hang their heads in shame

How do you figure that one out?

Tbf people have been telling Shezzy to implement some positivity into his batting for a long time. Dont think this is what they meant though

I can understand PED's helping fast bowlers but how can it really help the batsman? I think this is probably an innocent mistake rather than anything else.

This is the farthest thing from a blessing in disguise.

This is a blessing literally knocking on your door and saying “Hi, I’m blessing”

Generally speaking though, don't really think Marijuana, cannabis etc should be termed as a performance enhancing drugs, it's quite the opposite if anything else, unless the fielder thinks it's a Mars bar he's catching. That's the only situation in which a player would have an unfair advantage.

Really foolish act. Not sure which type of PED, but if it's something related to weight loss, it's most likely deliberate. Ahmed is a smart guy - he won't mix it with wife's pill.

Probably last nail in his coffin for a long-term career in PAK colors.

Hopefully had enough of this useless player.
