Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

Now this is what you call a proper episode but sadly soon it would again be back to aimless John snow on wall and clueless khalesi in the desert.

There's only one episode left in this season :yk

Amazing episode though. Can't wait to see what happens in the next one. I'm particularly interested in jon snow's fate and khalese as she enters the house of the undead!! oh and the wildfire season was EPICCC

I have a feeling the finale is going to be something amazing, especially since they spent 9m on it (unless that went into the battle, then I'm gutted because I never really enjoy battle scenes anyway)

This show amazing, I can't believe the season is over already and we have to wait nearly 10 months. Again.

What an episode. The best to date. The most exciting part about the finale is that it will include 10 extra minutes. Cant wait, its gonna be an epic one iA!

'Game of Thrones' scoop: Season 3 character list revealed -- EXCLUSIVE

The Reeds are in!
EW.com has a list of new characters coming to HBO’s Game of Thrones in season three. Fans have been wondering which names from George R.R. Martin’s third Song of Ice and Fire novel A Storm of Swords will be introduced next year, especially since the lengthy book is being divided into two seasons.
We recently spoke to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss about some of the creative changes this year and next season’s plans. “[Jojen and Meera Reed] haven’t been written out,” Benioff says. “It’s important to point out that that we have the largest cast on television right now. We introduced dozens of new characters in season two. If you hurl 300 characters at an audience, the story collapses under the weight of too many faces, too many names, and too many subplots. We need to be just as mindful of the audience members who have never read the books as we are of the readers; the series will fail if we only appeal to those who already know the characters. So we try to be parsimonious about how many new roles we introduce to the story and when we introduce them.”
That said, get excited. Here’s who will appear in season three:

– Mance Rayder: We’ve heard about him all season. A former member of the Night’s Watch who became the “King Beyond the Wall,” the leader of the Wildlings.

Daario Naharis: A confident and seductive warrior.

– Jojen Reed; Meera Reed: A teenage brother and sister duo with special insights.

– Edmure Tully: A brash young member of the Tully family.

– Ser Brynden Tully (The Blackfish): Catelyn Stark’s uncle.

– Lady Selyse Florent: Stannis Baratheon’s wife.

– Shireen: Stannis’ daughter.

– Olenna Redwyne (The Queen of Thorns): Margaery Tyrell’s sharp-witted grandmother.

– Beric Dondarrion: A skilled knight who is the leader of the outlaw group Brotherhood Without Banners.

– Thoros of Myr: A red priest who follows the same religion as Melisandre.

– Tormund Giantsbane: A Wildling raider.
Now, if a Book 3 character is not listed here, does that mean they are not in season three? Apparently not. Because Benioff then added: “And a few others…holy hell that’s a lot of new faces.”

Where's Ramsay Bolton?

Who's Ramsay Bolton supposed to be? (I have not read the books)

Legitimated bast'd of Roose Bolton (already introduced). He's the dirtiest (that would be an understatement) player in all of ASOIAF.

Roose Bolton informing Robb about Theon taking Winterfell and mentions Ramsay (without taking his name) in this clip.

I have a feeling that they might just replace Ramsay's character with this guy just like how they replaced Jeyne Westerling with Talisa. :13:

No, that doesn't work. They could have Dagmer betray Theon but that would be about it, maximum.

Ramsay Bolton's not on the list but I can assure you he WILL appear. Otherwise, they would not be mentioning him as prominently as they have.

The list above is great but it's not exhaustive. It doesn't include Vargo Hoat, for whom there are audition tapes out.

That being said, I'm very excited to see Giantsbane and the Blackfish. Thoros, too. I mentioned that Beric was cast earlier but it appears they'll be recasting him.

In the books, Ramsay Bolton's role is similar to what Dagmer (guy who's picture is posted above) is doing right now, i.e. an advisor to Theon. I don't think I'm spoiling much by mentioning this since that part of his story is out.

He's Roose Bolton's bast'd and is generally thought to be probably on par with Joffrey in terms of psychopath-ness.

One question for everyone, who do you think ordered Mandon Moore to attack Tyrion?

I'd say Joffrey.

The King could not lead the troops, didn't even stay with them and Tyrion had to do the job in his absence. Surely he wouldn't like the half man taking credit for saving Kings Landing out of his pure hatred and insecurity. It works perfectly as they give all the credit to Tywin Lannister-Tyrells partnership after the battle.

Cersei and Littlefinger are under suspicion too but Joffrey seems to be the most obvious one to me. LF wouldn't care about the timing of this event but it occurred exactly after Tyrion's troops secured the gate

The show certainly makes it seem like Joffrey. In the books, Tyrion is convinced it's Cersei but we have no evidence of it. She doesn't even reference the attempt in her chapters.

I though it might be LF since Mandon is from the Vale - might be he bought him off. But being a member of the Kingsguard, Mandon would not refuse Joffrey if asked to kill Tyrion. The fact Joffrey left Mandon with Tyrion is convincing too.

But anyways, Podrick for prez!

I purposefully did not visit this thread, since I started watching the series only since 2 weeks back....Just finished the 9th episode of season 2....I hope tyrion does not die.... Epic Battle sequence.

And they should seriously give Jon Snow something...he is getting wasted there..

Jon's got his work cut out. All of the characters are not meant to be in the kings landing and playing the game of thrones. Danny across the narrow sea and Jon Snow at the wall are both playing a very significant role. Final episode will probably have an intriguing incident related to Snow (King beyond the wall will show up perhaps) apart from Danny's journey to house of the undying.

You're done with the first season?

Book four is honestly very slow. I didn't mind the read as there is a decent amount of character development and DwD is already out.

That being said, take some time to appreciate the details. Some things can be easily overlooked, like the crown on a certain wh*re very late in the books and where it appears again. As well as a digger.

Towards the middle and end, there are some really good monologues (?) too. My personal favourites are about 'the men who break' and The Hound.

The conclusion to AFFC isn't very climatic either, but it's good.

What a class episode.

Superb battle scene. One of my favourite episodes of the series just for that.

One of the most epic war moments on cinema/tv ever

cool, well im slowly getting through it so lets see how things go. i have DWD on the shelf awaiting the end of this too so all good!!

I took a break inbetween and read Sword of Allah (about Khalid bin waleed) so this is a bit of a come down from book 2-book 3 , Khalid kicking butt..lol..

maybe I'll succumb and buy some pulp fiction action stuff to whet my appetite as i slog through this tome..(Warhammer 40k comes to mind..lol)

There's no proof. Tyrion comes up with absolutely zero evidence in the books and in her POV chapters, she doesn't think of the event not once. And I can assure you, she thinks about killing Tyrion a lot.

Ha, me too. I'm reading the first book in The First Law trilogy at the moment. I'm having trouble finding anything with the depth and scope of ASOIAF.

I'll post a list I found on another site later. First Law is a lot more simplified than ASOIAF and the characters aren't at all as likeable, but it's really good so far. The first book is 'The Blade Itself'. Check out a sample.

I also read a sample for Book One of the King Killer Chronicles and was blown away. Scope is smaller, but the detail was very similar.

Season finale preview.

Jon Snow , Lannisters, Jamie-Brienne, Greyjoys, Arya, Khaleesi.. everyone's in there. :akhtar Gonna be another great episode

Stannis is heck of a man.

''Come with me and take the city.''

He was gonna take it on his own. What a guy :)), i'll go to war with Stannis Baratheon. :moyo

''Joffrey, Renly, Rob Stark .. they're all thieves. They'll bend the knee or i'll destroy them.''

^

:))

Stannis was class.

The guy is like "we'll lose hundreds", he's responds "...Thousands" and than he continues on.

Boss. :zardari

Yeah thousands :)) Did you see that guard's body language? :))

There's another great quote on Stannis from Tywin Lannister-
"This is Stannis Baratheon. The man will fight to the bitter end and then some.''

I am becoming a big fan of Kingslayer as well. :D

What did you think about Hound's desertion? Just can't stand fire :( He was slicing men into halves though. Good blade :akhtar

That sir is the best speech in book 4 (maybe even in all the books).

Books to read while waiting for the next ASOIAF book to come out:

http://io9.com/5876715/10-great-fan...youre-waiting-for-george-rr-martins-next-book

That sir is the best speech in book 4 (maybe even in all the books).

I haven't read ADWD, but I am aware of the context of the following quote and Wyman "Badass" Manderly:

It's not spoilery, but don't read on if you don't want to:

“A thousand years before the Conquest, a promise was made, and oaths were sworn in the Wolf’s Den before the old gods and the new. When we were sore beset and friendless, hounded from our homes and in peril of our lives, the wolves took us in and nourished us and protected us against our enemies. The city is built upon the land they gave us. In return we swore that we should always be their men. Stark men!”

I really wish they make a prequel to GOT one day. Would be cool for a lot of viewers who haven't read the books. Knowing more about Robert, whatever the Targaryens did, Stark house's history, Lannisters playing their games as always. Fascinating stuff

Rhaeger Targaryen was heck of a guy, that i wish to see on screen.

He would have still given his life for the King if not for fire :( Sandor's the meanest SOB in the series. I don't think Bronn, Jamie would beat him in combat. Drogo? May be.

Conversation between him and Sansa before he left -
“Where will you go?”
Away from here. Away from the fires. Go out the Iron Gate, I suppose. North somewhere, anywhere.”
“You won’t get out,” Sansa said. “The queen’s closed up Maegor’s, and the city gates are shut as well.”
“Not to me. I have the white cloak. And I have this.” He patted the pommel of his sword. “The man who tries to stop me is a dead man. Unless he’s on fire.” He laughed bitterly.

Was great when he stepped up to his brother 'The Mountain' ( who's now been replaced by a moron on HBO)

I wish Stannis becomes king. Somehow it wont happen. I really love Stannis' family

May be that wierd thing that killed Renly Baratheon will comeback and fight for Stannis... :D

Ha, me too. I'm reading the first book in The First Law trilogy at the moment. I'm having trouble finding anything with the depth and scope of ASOIAF.

The Wars of Light and Shadow by Janny Wurts is comparably intricate, if not more so.

I hope George R. R. Martin eventually finishes this series off. The series was originally meant to be a triology, and it's obvious Martin isn't one to stick to time limits. The latest book, ADwD, did hardly anything to start drawing the series to a close. It seemed it actually introduced more plot lines. I'm afraid the story might have got bigger than even he can manage. Not sure how he can resolve the numerous loose threads and the 3-4 major plot lines together in the last 2 books. And he's taking progressively longer between each subsequent book.

Also 'The Gentleman B@stard' series by Scott Lynch is a hugely fun fantasy series to read in the meantime.

I was watching an interview of Jack Gleeson(King Joffrey)..and I realized I actually hated him and Could not remove the image of Joffrey from Jack while watching it...which goes to show that the kid is actually a very very good actor...

wild fire scene was EPIC! the taliban probably want to get their hands on some of that stuff :))

the Imp is the biggest man of the lot, what a legend :yk

Anyone's seen it? My review will come in 2 hours. :yk

Done !

Great episode and has left a lot to speculate regarding season 3. House of the undying didn't live upto the hype unfortunately :( but the season ending scene compensated for it. :O

Can't wait for season 3 now. All the people who thought the wall was insignificant and Jon Snow was getting wasted, you'll be delighted. Business has just picked up at the wall folks. :D

Is it just me or you too find it funny that the direwolves grew much faster than the dragons? :23:

good finale............but this season has left much to be desired...

wasn't as good as the first one, but the last 2 episodes were good

lets hope season 3 have more blood and water

After the last episode it was gonna be hard to do something better. End scene was great. Too little of "IMP", but was great. I wanna ask wouldn't it be great if they make two seasons per year if they are to do only 10 episodes.

CGI is expensive yar. I don't think we're gonna see much of Dragons either. :(
