Got the tactics wrong I think.
India should have let him go for his shots and put pressure on New Zealand.
Instead he went into his shell and he's not a good enough batsman to work the ball around.
If he really wants to improve as a player and not just be a "star" then he should start watching Ben STokes.
We saw how abysmal he was around 2015-17 when it came to building an innings, which culminated in the Pak semi final match. Look at him now, he knows how to rotate strike, knows how to peg the ball into gaps and then hit the boundaries when set (played two such innings this tournament when England needed him).
Not sure if Pandya has the capacity of the will to work on this.
I think someone said that to win at sports, at times, you have to put aside the ego. Kohli has done so, Amir has done so, Babar is learning to do so, Stokes has learned....Pandya has to.
