How can India recover from the humiliating ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final loss?

This thread backfired massively.

It was an attempt by OP to open a thread similar to brother @Devadwal 's one about how can Pakistan recover after losing to India in Asia cup.

India recovered very quickly by winning the next ICC tournament within 6 months.

Pakistan meanwhile got knocked out after losing to Indian IT boys playing for USA

As much as you would like it to, winning a T20 WC no way makes up for a 50 over WC loss - and you, and all Indians, know this. T20 WCs are almost insignificant compared to the 50 over WC. The latter is remembered for decades while there is a new T20 champion almost every year!

That being said, a 50 over WC final loss can never be humiliating. India had a fantastic WC and fell just short.

Think you are missing the point. No one compared 50 over WC with T20. Everyone understands ODI world cup is pinnacle of our sport. However, OPs question was how will India team recover. He never specified any format etc but was a generic question. So by winning a T20 WC withing 6 months Indian team already shown they have recovered.

Also, I have noticed a recent trend here of downplaying T20 cricket after India winning the world cup. T20 world cup is still very prestigious and had your team won it, people would be doing bhangra. We all witnessed how 152/0 was celebrated and some people still celebrates. Which format was that again?

ODI WC > T20 WC> CT > WTC....this is the ordering IMO.

Odi is finished. No one cares for odi wc. Tests and t20 is all that matters.

By winning a test match in Perth and first team to beat Australia in Optus stadium?

India has recovered from the 2023 ODI WC final loss

India have enjoyed unprecedented success in ICC events over the last 18 months, winning 10 matches in the ODI World Cup before falling short in the final, before going on to lift the T20 World Cup last year in Barbados, and now adding on to it with a Champions Trophy victory to boot. The sole loss came in the 2023 World Cup final, where they where ambushed by Travis Head. The innings from Travis that secured an unlikely triumph for Australia in the 2023 final remains one of the greatest in World Cup history, and that's basically what it takes to beat India these days.

A team that has reached the finals of all three major limited-overs tournaments deserves to be rated as one of the best teams.
