What's new

How does Ramadan change your life?

You are deflecting.

Nowhere does it say fasting is compulsory. Because god didn't say it. And there's none prescribed punishment/consequence.

Let's move on then.

More like you dont want to face the facts.

I've been exercising on a regular bases. So far, I've lost about 5kg, and needed to.
I would love to lose that much lol. Any tips? What sort of workout are you doing?

I am eating healthy and feeling good but probably still consuming too many calories of "clean" food.

You don't have any "godly" directive that mandates fasting, nor a punishment.

Yet you threaten "kufr" onto others. Blindly.

I've not threatened anything on anyone. I've just provided authentic statements from hadiths.

If you don't deam fasting as compulsory, then that's a matter for you to digest.

I've completely cut carbs and sugar out. Consuming protein, nuts, vitamins and water, with a 5k run after Tharawee on most nights.

Bro ignore this guy. He was banned under his previous account(s) and he's now coming after Islam because he's got a problem with the mods.

Where does it say fasting is compulsory?
Who said it?
What is the prescribed punishment/consequence for not fasting?

Let's hear it from godly texts.
Prayer is in 2nd of the 5pillers of Islam. Idk which sect you follow. Fardh is the compulsory. It’s standard across all sects unless you’re certain type.

Maybe he is an ex-Muslim.

Some of the things he writes are typically written by atheists/apostates/non-Muslims.

I love this beautiful blessed month of Ramadhan. Love attending masjid in general anyways but in Ramadhan it just feels even more nice and special, you get to see old school class mates too in taraweeh (night prayers). I met one yesterday after 20years.

It’s leaving us so fast 😞 going to have to make the most of the remaining days and do as much ibadah.

He claimed (post:69), theres millions in Pakistan especially in Karachi dont fast. Well there’s over 10million+ in Bangladesh dont fast in Ramadhan ie the hindus, buddhits, christians. No one is forcing them nor pointing gun to their head to do so, like in a certain country which forces minority to chant such slogans in order to prove their loyalty to the country.

Nice. I met an old classmate last Ramadan. I met him after almost 10 years.

May we all do lots of worships during laylatul qadr (it can happen on any night from the last 10 nights).

Laylatul qadr is better than a thousand months.

I had iftari in the masjid first time this ramadan today. Was a nice experience. I got late and the only place to sit was next to the Imam Sahib. Because I was late he scurried to find me put, drink, filled my plate and kept asking if I need anywhere else.

No hierarchies or airs or graces. No castes. All sat on the floor eating and drinking.

Nice. I have never done iftar in a mosque. Always did it at home. Would love to try it at a mosque.

Where I live, there are at least 4 mosques near my house. Alhamdulillah. I generally visit 2 of those mosques.

One is a house that got converted into a mosque. I like praying there because it feels like I am praying at home and there are less people there. Small mosque.

Another is a big mosque; it can house 2000+ worshippers. I like going there because it has better carpets and it is huge in size. They also have lots of Islamic books.

It's forced in pakistan. I have been on receiving end of a beating. In karachi by law enforcement. For drinking water.

Here's more.

In 1981, the military dictator Zia-ul-Haq introduced Ehtiram-e-Ramadan (Respect for Ramadan), an Islamic law that prescribes punishments of up to three months in jail and a fine for people who drink or eat publicly. "A person who, according to the tenets of Islam, is under an obligation to fast shall not eat, drink or smoke in a public place during fasting hours in the month of Ramadan," the law says.
"We cannot allow the liberal people to secularize our country, our society," Zia Ahmed, a small trader in the southern city of Karachi, told DW. "The respect of Ramadan is mandatory for all citizens of Pakistan. There can't be any compromise on it." As for religious minorities: "They live in an Islamic country and must obey its rules."

That’s one of the beauty of Islam.

The only way one can attain superiority over another is by Taqwah, ie: God consciousness, piety, doing more righteous deeds.

This Ramadan has been quite boring for me :/

I enjoy the iftaris the routine. But for me it seems like the usual normal

You should go for an iftari before Ramadan ends.

Hard to believe it’s almost over. Let’s push forth in these last 10 days brothers, may Allah allow us to take full advantage of Laylatul Qadr and answer all our duas Ameen.

Don’t think I’ve answered thread title yet. It allows a full cleansing of the spirit, and body and allows me to focus on character flaws I have and character traits I need to develop as per the Sunnah and Quran. And those foundations are laid by increased mindfulness during religious acts that Ramadan emphasizes.

Ameen.

Last 10 nights are the most important. Chance to get laylatul qadr. Worshipping in that night is superior to worshipping for 1000 months (more than 83 years).

May we all catch laylatul qadr and maximize it.

One of my local mosques does two prayers during the last 10 nights.

One is the regular taraweeh which happens from 9:15 PM till 11:15 PM (approximately).
Another is salatul qiyam which runs from 2 AM till 3:30 AM (approximately). You can do suhoor at the mosque after this.

Here is the salatul qiyam prayer from last night. Tthey turn off lights which I find soothing.
