People need to realize that this is the consequence on not being able to play international cricket back home. The UAE is already proving to be an expensive option for the PCB and arranging your home series outside Pakistan is an expensive exercise if you have to do it day in day out.

Perfectly explains though why PAK had ZERO Test playing in entire 2008 - it's all about isolation, nothing to do with PCB's lack of interest in Test cricket.

Sri Lanka have a good system and a decent board. Pakistan is not similar because:

All a mix of Pakistan not giving preference to Test match cricket, not playing in Pakistan and breaking ties with not one, not two but THREE Test playing nations in the shape of India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. While I'm all for us having an attitude for ourselves, for us to improve, we need to be playing more cricket. Should arrange a Test series with Ireland and Zimbabwe in Pakistan or the respective countries themselves and work on improving ties with Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka haven't toured Australia since 2012/13 or West Indies since 2008, neither have they hosted England since 2012 so these planned series are coming very late in their cycle.

Plus its not ideal to have such a tightly packed schedule as the risk of injuries is greater and there's not much time to regroup between series.

Now TRUE our upcoming calendar is empty - but that's a consequence of having no relations with one country (India), and our Board's stupidity in cancelling a series with Bangladesh due to our insistence we host them in Pakistan instead of UAE.

Late 2018 and 2019 will get busier for us though.
