How will Mohammad Hafeez be remembered in cricketing history? What is his legacy?

"Wonderful ambassador of the game" :hafeez That's his legacy, I think.

One of the greats of the game,Mohammad Hafeez, the name was a nightmare for the opposition. On his day,he had the ability to take the game away in a matter of moments with both bat and bowl.

He may have called it off today but his legacy is intact forever and will remain in the hearts of his countrymen and fans globally across the world. Cricket will miss you!

Legacy - no other international sportsman in history has ever had a more secure place in his team and confidence that they would play at highest level for as long as they wanted regardless of performances - not Imran, Viv, Bradman, Sobers, Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Lara or even Pele, Maradona, George Best, Messi, Ronaldo.

Hafeez could easily have carried on playing for another 10 years if he wanted and no selector or PCB chief would have dared to intervene, I think the boredom of just getting about 10 balls to bat every test match and fielding for hours just got to him in the end and so he retired.

Ok player at best. A decent bowler (when legal) but played like a deer caught in headlights when batting against quality bowling. You could probably say that about most of our batsmen but considering how much of a senior figure he made himself out to be, you'd think he'd be one of the first players to rely on when dealing with a potent attack.

Done!

What do you think now? :)

because of he played the media game he will be remembered positively

he wasn't a complete failure, but his ego was only dwarfed by YK, and sadly he isnt done tormenting us in white ball cricket

Very decent player but he overrated himself

Top player of spin, useful spinner but did chuck

Anyways good career.

Good player of spin and very good on flat pitches. But someone who prolonged his career for far too long and put himself in positions he shouldn't have been in.

I don't actually think Hafeez was that bad a player, especially a few years ago but like many have pointed out, prolonged his career far too long whch is a disease that inflicts the senior players.

He was a very handy utility in ODIs when he was bowling alongside Ajmal and Afridi. But unfortunately, was never a match winner and as regular fixture in the side, he encapsulated Pakistan team as a declining force in world cricket.

If only he was not selfish & connected & played in his natural position of 5-6 he would’ve been an absolute legend , never accepted the fact that he was not a top order batsman which showed his selfishness especially as he is a smart guy nick named professor so overall it’s definitely a what if...

Averages are not everything in cricket - only stats obsessed fans of some teams care so much about stats. Remember Hafeez is known as the Professor in Pakistan - his influence goes far beyond the numbers which in any case are brilliant for an all-rounder.

If average are not everything then why you posted bowling average ?
