So, what if the World Cup Final of the next edition too is tied? How will the ICC decide the winner? What are your guesses?

Let your humour take over, fellows.

Let me start: the team with the most number of married players will be declared as winners. If still tied, divorces formerly happened too will be taken into consideration.

Also, no England team fan should take it to mean that the purpose herewith is to undermine their achievement. I´m myself a huge fan of their transformed Limited-Overs team and was supporting them over the West Indies in the World T20 Final 2016. I congratulate them once again for lifting the trophy.

simple if India is one of the teams then to prevent a riot and the umpires getting lynched they will halt play, call fora strategic MRF timeout, check the video replays, cut the feed for a quick second, then award the cobra beer sponsored decision to the Nike Blue blood team india..

the decision would be announced after a rousing number by the IPL cheerleaders and various bollywood stars taking selfies with the umpires..

the opposition will be told to wait at the boundary line as the ground is now off limits to them..

Once the final decision is announced Modi would arrive in a helicopter and lead a giant yoga session..the cup would then be annointed with special oils,yoghurt and milk to keep out the evil eye from the opposition. The opposing team would be declared Pakistanis and then quickly rushed from the stadium..

cue big fireworks..(followed by a lynching of a beef eating Muslim just for entertainment purposes)..

No one will talk about that measly 2019 WC final again after this one..

It's like penalties, keep on going till it is decided. The rule of number of boundaries, head to head in pervious encounter or point table standing shouldn't decide anything.

My father often relates to me the story of how he and his cousin Zaka (may his soul rest in peace) once won a challenge of eating two kilos of mitthaayi (sweets) dipped in milk. Something like that sounds like a better idea than the way the Final on Sunday was decided.

Or get Ravi Shastri to say "Tracer bullet" for both the teams. For whichever of the two he says it quicker, that team shall be declared the winner.

Although the purpose of this thread isn´t serious suggestions, but I kind of liked this one. Just one over as a tie-breaker to follow a whole 100-overs ODI match doesn´t fit into things perhaps. Three overs, well, I wouldn´t mind it. It´s still a some kind of a mini-match which would follow, and eliminates the risk of yourself losing based on just one bad over. So yeah, I like this.

I understand the thought principle that there needs to be 1 winner. Years of preparation, thousands spent on marketing/promotion, all of the hype, it would be anti climax if there's 2 winners...BUT...In my opinion, if a game AND the super over is tied, then the trophy should be shared. Let's be honest, tied games are rare enough, let alone the super overs also being tie, and if this chain of events was to happen again in the future, it should be shared, but tbh I had never thought about this before as the chances were always so unlikely.

If NZ and England were to play each other 100 more times, highly unlikely any games would finish in a tie, and the resulting super over would also be a tie. People are saying they should have a super over again in case of a tied super over, but I'm not sure that would work. It's not the same as penalty shoot outs where penalties are quick (as in when it gets to sudden death), it would be too time consuming and impractical to repeat a super over multiple times.

If game is tied, check how many wickets each team lost. Whoever lost less wickets should be the winner.

If number of wickets lost are same, then use Super Over.

If still tie, then use NRR from group stage.

If still tie, then whoever has better ICC ranking should be champion.

No sharing trophy please.
