What's new

ICC CT 2017, 2nd Semi-final | India [265/1] beat Bangladesh [264/7] by 9 wickets

Congratulations . What a thumping it was! Well didnt even the most staunch BD supporters knew it in the heart of their hearts.

True. Everyone knew the outcome of today's match when bangla failed to win the toss. Match was 80-20 in India's favor before the toss. If Bangladesh had won the toss and bowled first it would've become 55-45. Still India would've won.

But it wouldn't have been such a one sided match like this one. Toss has become one of the most important factors in this tournament.

As opposed to the classy stuff like calling someone tundra

Thats not verbally abusing a nation. Thats not abusing someone's mother. That was just a light hearted comment directed towards 1 single individual mate. And i would try not to say it again if you have taken offence.

Congratulations to all Indian fans.Hoping for a cracking final. The two most deserving teams are in the final.

They managed to beat because they restricted those teams to below par scores. Had those teams scored 300+ like India did against Pakistan, they would have won.

No. Even a score of 330 wouldn't have saved Bangladesh. Bangladesh doesn't have the bowling to restrict a good batting line up on this sort of placid wickets.

Actually not many teams have it. Look at how Indian bowlers struggle to take wickets again Lanka when they bowled second or how England struggled to take wickets against Pakistan. These r win toss and win match types wicket.

How do you come up with these numbers?

About right. Bangladesh should never been int he semis to be frank. They got lucky they got saved by rain but really should have been Australia in the semis. Feel bad for the competition when you get situation like these.

where are you dude? you called me it seems on the other thread that has been closed now.. now you seem to be offline. you still think Pakistanis are favorite to win this cup? As per books India have 60% chance to win the cup.. we have not even qualified for finals yet. That suggests that there is a big gap in talent and quality between India and Pak/Bangla.

Because you beat Bangladesh? :))

You were supposed to win this one. No biggie.

What about when I told you Pakistan were faves against England and you started having anger issues? Hope you saw that one.

Sunday's will be a good game. Pakistan has a great shot at the trophy.

Congrats to India on making the Final. They obliterated Bangladesh. Especially dominating with the bat.

I don't wish India all the best for the Final.

...And the team which I said were faves won by 8 wickets with 12-13 overs to spare.

Come again.

are you acting naïve? dude, it happens that underdogs sometimes beat the hell out of fav. we have seen that before. SL thrashed India in this tournament. they were big underdogs and India was -330 fav for that game.

Blaming the toss for BD's loss is also due to dysfunctional brain

Why? Because it's the fact?

80% of the matches in this tournament have been won by teams which have won the toss and batted second. Even a team of England's caliber couldn't do it by losing the toss. Neither could India against Lanka.

India and pak r in final. Both of these teams have won tosses in their last three matches. Had they lost the toss in all of those occasions they might not have made it to the final.

I know my team.

Now shut up and start preparing for how you'll react after we thrash y'all on Sunday. :junaid

ExpressPacer this the BD bowling which you said was much better than India's? Bowling to the pads or wide legside.

Very disappointing stuff. I thought they'd do better but looks like the pressure got the better of them.

But.. Bangladesh has a higher chance of qualifying than Pakistan...they're the new Asian giants... bujhee kom :danish

Never said that (Asian giants). We ran into the 2nd best ODI unit ever assembled on an 'on' day. No match for that bar the Aus unit of 99-08 (in each case the core players being the issue).

Wrong team combo + bad captaincy during 1st game.

Most of that seems to be rectified now.

learn to give credit to the opponents.
also, come up with better excuse for that loss and also prepare good excuse for the loss on Sunday.:))

Unless you come up with a credible solution to avoid toss result from deciding cricket match results (just like DRS for resolving umpring errors), toss result will be part and parcel of the game which you have to accept and move on... cry babies who don't grow up won't accept it.

This is the problem with BD fans... they simply won't grow up and would find some lame excuse for every match that BD has lost... in this match there were no umpiring errors or unfair play... so the toss is the only excuse they can come up with (even though everyone one knows BD would have been beaten black and blue irrespective of whether they ball or bat first against India)... keep ranting about it and never grow up from being sore losers as usual.

Infact teams batting first won most matches at this venue in this tournament; so your "fact" isn't credible either. The BD team is improving but it's fans aren't I'm afraid.

Bangla kids are really passionate...But most of the time due to over excitement and immaturity, that passion is turning out to be comedy show like Start Sports. They just need to play with lil bit respect to the opponents and they'll be right there. :94:

The primary reason behind BD's lose against India was the toss. The moment they lost the toss the match was almost over. Bangla had a very slim chance of winning the match against India. The only way they could possibly win the match was by bowling first and by taking couple of quick wickets within first hour of the match by using the overcast conditions at their advantage.

It's not blaming, it's called analyzing and finding logical reasons behind the outcome of the match. But clearly u aren't intelligent enough to know how things work in cricket or in a cricket forum.

Actually its u who's acting like an illiterate fool here. If u weren't one u wouldn't have declared a whole fan base as sore losers. Hope mods will take a look at this pathetic post of urs.

It's a cricket forum. Here everyone will try to find out the reasons behind their own teams defeat. It's not giving excuses. Nobody here has downplayed India. They were obviously the superior team and deserves all the praise. They were clinical in their run chase. That doesn't change the fact that Bangla put themselves in a disadvantageous position at the very beginning of the match by losing the toss. But why am I even bothering to explain it to u. U clearly won't be able to understand the gist of my post.

Grow up, post like a mature guy and stop generalizing. Otherwise this sort of cheap pot shots towards a whole Fanbase will just make u look like an absolute fool.

These two don't add up. Just saying..! :D

By your own logic, Bangaldesh was never the favorite team to begin with. The only hope was the coin flip going in their favor.

Do u have any doubt about that? India is a a much more superior team than bangladesh. Let's say match was 80-20 in India's favor. When India won the toss it added another 20% in their favor. That means the moment bangla lost the toss it was almost 100 - 0.

Had Bangladesh won the toss that 20% would've been added to bangla's favor and it would've become 60-40. Perhaps India still would've won the match. But match wouldn't have been such one sided.

Got your point.

The primary reason behind BD's lose against India was the toss.

The sentence above gives the impression that had it not been for the toss, Bangladesh would have won.
