ICC CT 2017 | Australia v Bangladesh | Match abandoned

Mashrafee needs to be kicked out for good, he was too scared of conceading 500 runs so he batted first knowing our top orders consists of sissies
 
Starc will be the greatest ODI bowler ever once he retires. His record is phenomenal in this era
 
It's criminal to get all-out 6 overs earlier, when there is a good chance of game being rain shortened.
 
Last four wickets fall for one run. These lower order batsmen looked mortally afraid of facing fast deliveries. No wonder they were all cleaned bowled.
 
Is it just me who thinks that it was unfair on the part of the organizers to put BD in Group A? Winning against three tough sides, England, Australia and New Zealand is really one hell of an ask, notwithstanding BD's recent exploits.

They should have been in Group B. SL should have been in group A instead. At least BD could have fancied their chances against Pakistan....
 
Australia need not chase the total in 20 overs. They just need to be ahead of the D/L requirement at the 20 overs mark.

Its okay. Baptism by fire. Also ours is a team that needs to be humiliated every once in a while. Good for us in the longer run :P.

BD are number 6 team. They are expected to do well against top teams now. Today was a bad day by their recent standards.

Number of ODI matches Fahim Ashraf has played till now -- thats right 0.

Win a match now. Or probably world champions Pakistan will also lose all three matches like minnows Bangladesh.

Went back and checked for recent results.

ODIs played in 2017. Doesnt get more recent than that right?

Bangladesh won 6 of their 9 ODIs.

Pakistan won 3 of their 9 ODIs.

You were right. I should have focused on recent results.

Pakistan has at least won a match vs Australia in Australia and vs England in England. What has Bangladesh achieved far except winning a few series at home?

I like and support Bangladeshi team but their fans should come down to earth.

Against which teams? Bangladesh did not win an ODI in NZ. They will be massacred in Australia and England where Pakistan at least won an ODI.

Pakistan won a match? 1 out of 5. I like the odds. Please ask Australia to invite us for 5 ODIs.

We can play only against whom we are given but well let me have a shot.

Beat England in Australia.
Beat Ireland in Ireland. (I know people will say weak side, but if we lost there would be so many threads, we would need a new forum).
Beat New Zealand in Ireland.

Also no arrogance (at least not from my side). We are a mediocre ODI side that is learning the ropes still. Long way to go before we consistently beat the top 3 ODI teams.

Yeah same team that kicked you guys out of a world cup a decade ago when you actually had a decent ODI team.

And Pakistan won against West Indies. A team, that just like Ireland, arent in the champions trophy. Still lost 6. Sharam karo yaar.

A little help from weather Gods, we might be in a spot of QF shoot out against Kiwis :), which I do fancy to make a tight one at Cardiff. Don't see this AUS side to beat Poms - they already got one lucky point from Kiwis, shouldn't mind to share one with us :)

Beat New Zealand just last month in the tri series played in Ireland.
 
Pak fan has some gut to show up and starts bragging. Lol.. Thought they will atleast forget about cricket for few days after humiliating loss to India.

"Some".I have always liked watching them play especially against India as I feel they have competed against India quite well,but some fans portray them as unbeatable or unstoppable after one good performance as if they are Aus or Eng,but well we find these kind of fans everywhere,don't we?
 
A good opening partnership has killed any chances of an upset today,would have loved to see an upset but looks like just like Pakistan, Bangladesh too didn't turn up today for the match.

Disappointing performance by our boys. Today we played and looked like minnows. Our attitude was poor again.
 
Bangladesh has been pretty disappointing lately.. They need to step up otherwise they will fall back again into abyss of mediocracy.
 
Bangladesh need to ensure that they keep improving.

And it's about time we kick out Riad. Riad in his career of 10 years is as accomplished a batsman as Ravindra Jadeja. True he has those twin centuries but otherwise he looks like a player who should play T20Is only. ODI and tests are for men

Sabbir

Fizz
Taskin

Bench will have Nasir, AH Rony, Anamul, Shanto.

Pakistan has the weakest batting line up probably in the history of it's 50 overs team but would still score big against this bowling line up. Bangladesh need to find some pacers. At home or in Asia the spinners can tie up batsmen but outside of Asia you need pace. Taskin may have had a few bad games but has potential and should be playing here instead of part time spinners. Mortaza is done, needs to move on and Rubel has decent pace but no bowling IQ.
 
If it rains it won't stop...that is the prediction.. so Bangladesh should waste time to bowl each delivery. It's the best strategy
 
Sachin Tendulkar s debut ODI match was when both teams played less than 20 overs each . Wonder what the rules were then.
