And the dropped catch of Kohli. They could have defended 200 if they caught Kohli.

Marsh has a weakness in that channel Bumrah bowled. It was very well planned by India.
 
You are one helluvan ODI batter if Warner is your batting partner and teams would rather bowl to him

Semi final spots are aus, NZ, sa and India. That's it, every other team is out.

Also this is why I love Australia and NZ so much. Yes I am biased as a dude who lives in Sydney but still, aus is a team that always bounces back (2011 was an outlier) and NZ plays crutch in crutch situations.

India is also goated, every cup a semi final spot is guaranteed. SA making it this year is suprise though. England flunking is also a suprise cause I knew they were bad with hasbeens but I didn't think they were that badly out of it.

The rest were very obvious 😂😂. Including Pakistan

No .NZ is Still to play South Africa and Pakistan so if they can lost both game . Last game is against Sri Lanka, which is also not a easy match

Bro, it was obviously going to be broken. The new era with 2 new balls and powerplay rules had made it easy.

No one could have broken it if they played in sachin's one ball and old pp rules era

Only for this WC - the way it’s heading, next WC, average match score will be 700, and someone batting in top 3 for 10-12 games will score 800+, next time 900+… until ODI WC is scrapped.

Well.. the Aussie juggernaut is truly in the WC now. Glad to see Warner head back after his unbearable OCD to unwrap his gloves after every ball. These superstitious routines waste so much time

Well, the simple story is Australia missed one batsman in absence of Head. Now they have got it back.

Warner
Head
Marsh
Smith
Keeper
Maxwell
Stoinis/Green

You have enough bowling options and batsman are also in form. Labuschagne and the keeper were creating two holes in middle order for this Australian side, they have it covered now with only the keeper spot being a concern.

We need to play all 4 spinners against Aussies, and Mahmudullah bowls few to make it 45 overs of spin,

Aussies will bash either way though, but might not hit 500….. not sure about that with 30 overs of pace😩
 
Tbh want to see 400 being gunned down in a chase again… been a while. NZ, India are capable of it. SA too despite choke job today.
 
Aussies are giving clues to their KO opponents- surely India will play Ashwin & Kiwis might bring in Shodhi as well. They are totally different beast when they are asked to use feet on front foot.
 
Honestly Phillips should have come in instead of Ferguson in the 5th-6th over.

Taking pace off and turning away from both lefties has clearly made a difference.
 
NZ has an opportunity to claw the situation back somewhat. SPD has been scratchy and Marsh has come out looking not as fluent.
 
Glen Phillips has removed both the openers and stopped the onslaught going on for good 15 to 20 overs.

Simple match up. There is a reason why Ashwin owns these guys in Tests. All lefties are vulnerable against him.

All teams should have a serviceable off spinner. India last minute picked Ashwin as Sundar was injured couldn't be tested. I understand having a wrist spinner is hard. But off spinner is a must as log of hitters like QDK, Warner, Head are lefties.

Australia doing what they did against Pak a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if this fell away to a sub-400 total. Which would be disappointing for them, but likely more than enough in all honesty.

Yes we don't score fast against him in LOIs as he pauses. Guys like Kohli relies on placing the ball and runs. Due to the pause they don't get the timing right and get the placement right
 
Your batting line up should be a mixture of spin bashers and seam bashers. Can't have oen tuk tuker and someone weak against spin.
 
Very bad drop. That was the way back in with a chance to break the middle order.
 
Yea if aus play like those vs india they will get decimated in semis.
 
Australia has a bizarre batting line up. Two tuk tukers right in the middle. One guy shifte down the order who can't play spin to save his life. Only spin basher comes way down the order. When he comes on spinners would have already bowled their quotas. The way they have structured this batting line up is poor
