India pressed the panic button way too early. I saw some frustratation in their plans and execution. That angry overthrow for 4 was a sign of frustration. They probably thought NZ would roll over. But they carefully saw off the new ball threat for 20 overs then Wankhede became the usual Wankhede. India did everything wrong they could. Thanks to the cushion of 399 runs they escaped. It was an atrocious all round effort.

An ATG bowling performance was needed to get out of the jail.
 
Now tell me this is convincing win for India or not ??
For me NZ were in the game till Mitchell and Philips were playing

Phehlukwayo kind of innings aren't going to win you games against top sides. These are the kind of players that finish games when the platform has been laid, otherwise they are tailenders otherwise. You have to be a gun or miserly bowler (a la Kyle Mills/ Nathan Bracken) to justify selection with such a limited skill set as a bowler

Problem for them is they have to hide atleast 4 fielders somewhere on the field. We always knew it was going to come back to bite us. It almost bit us today.

No he doesn't. With Sky you have the security of knowing that even if Kohli and Sharma go early you will have a bat intelligent enough to bat deep before playing shorts. A cameo of 30-40 is useless when you've lost your top order
 
India won the match the time they won the toss and batted first. There was no dew in the 2nd innings and more seam and swing for first 15 overs

I think India played really poor cricket for one hour or so. Runs were too many otherwise you can't win after playing such a poor cricket in middle.
 
Congrats to Indian fans. India has became a powerhouse on the back of your efforts to watch, support and grow the game. The time and money you guys pour into cricket is more than all other countries combined. So I hope it gives you some joy and pleasure because rather than corporate entities ( BCCI/IPL etc) it's you guys that have made Indian cricket successful.

However, the blatant attempts at cheating and manipulation mean I can't extend any congratulations to the team and board itself. The events of this morning made a mockery out of cricket.

Game was over Langbank, Mitchell pulled it on. Shami and to some extent bumrah kuldeep just bided their time.

You clearly have no.idea of the games Pandya played. He won games in Australia, India and everywhere. You seem clueless when u compared Phekluwhatever with Pandya
 
Man by watching Indian cricket I feel so bad for ourselves we deserve a better team I know we have the talent wbut we will never ever perform like this. Good times for India but bad times for pakistan team will continue

Why so much hate on NZ.. They were never a front runner of World cups and yet they reaches semi more often.. they've great fighting spirit, always pull above their weight..
 
Shami has basically won India this game. With Bumrah having an off day and the spinners negated, Pandya would have went for 100+ runs here. There's simply no room for both him and Jadeja in the XI. This is a very well balanced side.

NZ sacrificed the 5th bowler and conceded nearly 400. Puts everything into perspective

Dhoni was a defensive captain and picked bowlers who can bowl to his defensive style. Mohit too was a CSK bowler.

Kohli brought in attacking approach with the bowling.

Because they make knockout games boring and qualify ahead of sides who would make it more interesting

A India-AFG semi or India-Pak semi would have been more fun

I told people at the start, the difference would be rohit and Sheryas blistering innings.

I am so so happy that words can't explain. We have lived so many heart breaks in semi finals - 2015 Aus, 2019 NZ...we have lived all those days. Our last semi finals victory was all the way back in 2011 Mohali. This feels so good man.
 
NZ stacked up their batting line up at the expense of poor bowling combination. It eventually bit them. It bit them against Pakistan too. You cannot outbat teams without even half decent bowling unit. Wrong strategy. Using part timers to finish quota.
