Can't see beyond India. Toss won aswell - Kane confirms they would have batted first too.

This is how Australians spooked by rumour and played ridiculously in the Test and Ian chappell criticized them for falling for fake news.

India won the toss and chose to bat first.

TEAMS:

India
(Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

New Zealand (Playing XI): Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson(c), Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham(w), Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult

This pitch will become awfully difficult to bat in the 2nd innings no chance for nz

A used surface in world cup semi final? 🤣 well done bcci I thought pitches are under ICC care but bcci is choosing it throughout the tournament

Don't worry dew will come into picture... It is already in mid-november... And it is ridiculous to say that spinners will come into play in night matches!

Stay on the topic guys. Do not move away from the topic of this thread. We have other threads available for pitch controversies and all that stuff.

Kane and Kohli are very close friends. A reason why Kohli was always soft against NZ unlike he is against OZ and England

If NZ has issues with toss & pitch, then they have to give back 2019 match as well to India... It was awfully advantageous to them!

If you can't handle challenges then you are unfit to play cricket at top level... Learn from Indian T20 side (probably under 19 or under 23 amateur side) which beat Australia in Australia in the toughest format against all the odds (toss, conditions, injuries & many other issues)...

Pity for NZ they are helpless, someone will play a blinder for them
We aren't getting more than 100 lol.

New ball under lights and then Indias spinners on a turner.

India only need 80 to win.

India lost 2011 QF, FINAL tosses and went on to win against AUS and SL. Toss is immaterial for a great side. India may loose toss in final.

You make no sense. If its a slow pitch then it will become more slow in 2nd innings. Add to that the ball swings more under lights. Why would NZ want to chase in such a scenario? Moreover in the SFs of last 2 WCs India lost while chasing. So if NZ wins toss they will also try to bat first and put the Indian batting under pressure.
You will understand it when you are aware of the effect of dew. The ball skids on the surface and comes nicely onto the bat. But for the first 20 overs it will swing. So, pitch will be slower in the first innings which India can handle

Toss is immaterial has anyone including KW has seen both sides of coin, hopefully some journo will ask this to Black Caps skipper later tonight

Not sure why they want there. India is better off with normal Wankhede pitch. Guys like Santner will become more effective now. Een Ravindra, Philips will come into equation
It's an insurance policy in case NZ wins the toss and bats first. If the pitch is slow, they can't get away to 350

Knew this pitch rigging was happening. Mentioned this in many of India and Afghan games.
Anyways time to put it aside and enjoy the game.
India have won a great toss on a used pitch

They talk about this Indian to be one of the best and all and still needed to change the pitch before the match 🤣

Finally India wins the toss in a knockout after eons. Both captains wanted to bat first. The ball under lights for the first 20 overs will swing. Good toss to.win. in

People wants to talk about the match well after the pitch change there hardly be any match

What's the point of all this discussion guys??

They rigged the pitch, the toss, the DRS
its pointless really

They haven't won a SINGLE ICC tournament in 10 years. When they competed fairly

Lets BOYCOTT this World Cup. Instead of wasting 8 hours watching a fixed match

A sport where 90% revenue comes from one country because it has 1.4 billion population CANNOT remain a fair sport

Yes, finally a toss win in a knock out situation. But it does not fit the victim narrative here...but good points raised

Sharma wins another important toss I see he flicked the coin in the other pitch again where the poor opposition captain didn’t get a look in.

& what’s this story about Indians pitch doctoring again just hand them over the cup .

Rohit threw that coin really far away and only Andy Pycroft could see what the toss result was.

Clearly it was a rigged toss. :yk2

Quite possibly... Rohit already had the mic in hand when tossing the coin. Kane didn't. 👀

Guys Guys Guys.
If you want to talk about pitch controversy and toss controversy, we have other threads available for that conversation., If you have nothing to talk about the match then feel free to not post here. Please do not change the topic.

People complaining about used pitches, I think that's the best way you can make a game competitive in SC conditions (Just like you spice up by leaving grass on SENA pitches for knockout/important games) You should understand the nuances before accusing... Fresh pitch will result in boring 300+ scores and the other team crumbling under scoreboard pressure...

I think NZ (and its spinners) are good enough to trouble Indian batsmen in these conditions. They have done that many times (if I remember they did this in a T20 WC game when India batted first and went on to win that match)

Alright guys. Nerves already ! Although i have seen these guys play this NZ so many times recently still nerves

A team.that barely made the Semis feels its injustice when they lost the toss. Now that's funny

you are wrong. check 2022 t20 World Cup. It's the same, how could eng win if toss was fixed in aus? All important ind vs pak this worldcup, who won the toss?

Let's see what other help will idnia needed to finally win a wc after 10 years

Ball is swinging, lol. This trundler was doing nothing all tournament and now bowling at his best. Bowling utter trash vs PAK. Well paid by PCB
