No, that's a bad idea. Iyer is a specialist bat and is due a good knock (law of averages). Whereas Pandya is not going to win you games with the bat unless a platform is laid. It's the same conundrum we have with Andile.

Neither player is going to win you games with either bat or ball. They are support cast rather than catalyst
 
I don't think NZ would have won batting first either. Their batting is not good against this quality of bbowling.

He's playing as a bowler who can somewhat contribute with the bat (hence I'm against playing him and Pandya in the same XI). And to be fair he's bowled very well in this tournament. I think he's been the most economical bowler. Pandya doesn't give you any of that

Plus they have a game against Afg, though Afg might be hoping for a win, NZ may get their NRR better in that game as well even if they lose to Pak
 
guys please dont high your expectations pak can still lose to either nz or eng so please dont get your heart broken on more time if it happens happens otherwise move on

Regardless of whether Pakistan qualifies (hope it does), thank you SA for finishing off from where Indians and Ozzies left
 
I'm curious to see what the NRR looks like for NZ once this game wraps up. If it takes a big hit and Pakistan win both of the next games it could end up being a repeat of CWC 2019.

Although Pakistan is the only team which has come close to beating these giants so far...and they would have won if the umpire had correctly raised his finger on SA's last batsman who was technically proven out.

I know, the current run difference between teh teams is almost 400 runs i think. Moreover NZ play SL in their last match so even if they lose to Pakistan its tough to imagine them losing to SL. But strange things always happen when its Pakistan so we never know. NZ may lose their remaning matches while Pakistan wins all and qualifies.

Did you forget SAF vs AFG? Plus, SAF was in trouble against Pak more because of how SAF played and less a our how good Pak were.
 
Honest question, probably discussed here before, why on earth NZ bowled first given SA weak chasing game.

They have failed big time in many tournaments , have failed to win a TEST , do not know how many years in Australia , what has happened after that ? This time also they will loose both Tests.

And that's how it should be. I dont know it's very cringey and embarrassing to see ind origin British or Aus citizens supporting and cheering Ind for games in Eng or Aus and not cheering for their home country..If anyday US qualifies for WC and plays ind - I am 100% supporting US as I am US citizen..different matter that the US cricket team is total rubbish! 😂
