Chasing even 250 against this bowling attack is hard let alone 358. Their bowling has improved since that Kusal mendis onslaught where they were bowling on both sides of the wicket.
 
SA modus operendi has been same , bat first , play normal cricket till 30 overs , then go after the bowling in last 20 overs. Then get early wickets by pacers.
 
NZ has lost there steam in the WC , they have used all amunations , not they are in trouble.
 
This is definitely not 110/8 wicket. Pathetic batting by NZ. They were riding on the performance of Mitchell and Ravindra. Moment they didn't show they are exposed big time. Can happen to India as well with ROhit and Kohli both going missing
 
Philips must go into T20 mode and score as many as he can.

This is turning out to be an irredeemable defeat for NZ.
 
I dont want Pak to reach semi final..at any cost…otherwise again all our weaknesses will be forgotten and Babar will continue as captain, and horrendous selection policies will continue... I want them to exit disgracefully as they d eserve to..as Pak is a nothing team..
 
So the stage is set for Pakistan to make a grand comeback to the SFs. If they make it then it may be a repeat of 2011 with the arch rivals taking on each other. fans need not wait for 9-0 or 8-1 until 4 years. On teh otehr hand NZ need to question themselves why they chose to field when it was common sense that SA struggle to chase even modest totals. The only answer I have is Kudrat ka Nizam which made them make a bad choice.
 
Lol this is an encouraging result but please don't get overexcited, our bowling is nowhere near the same level

That is not right , every team is there to qualify. Weakness remains weakness whether you make semi final or even when someone wins.

The NRR is still hugely in favour of NZ, even if NZ lose by more than 200 runs Pakistan would still need to crush their opponents to make up the difference. This is what happens when you lose so badly in a few games.

That's not true. Pakistan is not good at introspection, only a huge failure forces it to do retrospective analysis of why they failed.

Pandya's injury makes India a better side actually. I think they have selected a specialist bat in his stead. The tail was too long, starting with him and Jadeja.
 
NRR gods giving NZ a thrashing. NZ injuries also piling up. The door has opened ever so slightly for Pakistan.

Now they need to win.

All India need to do is drop Iyer and play Pandya in his place. The rest of the team picks itself

Jadeja is a useless batsman in odi. Now some indian will come and paste his stats to prove how good of a odi batsman he is centuries ago while they were still under British rule.

He is a good bowler in Asian conditions as he can hold up one end but his batting is subpar.
 
If SAF wins the cup or make the final, my Man of The Series will be Jansen. His impact in this WC had been outstanding - in this run feast WC several top order has scored tons of runs but this guy has taken wickets with new ball every time, has come back at times to dent middle order and whatever opportunity he got, he has contributed with bat. Fields brilliantly as well. A future superstar and SAF captain may be.

@bold..please Allah no…. Dont want another one side thrashing from India.. already we have had 2 recently..one in Asia Cup and one in WC.. more than enough for atleast a couple of years..

Drop iyer play pandya
Drop sky the hack. Still think he will do something stupid when you need him to play it safe. Bring back ishan. Plus he is leftie. Ishan also has problems vs bounce but not as noticeable as iyer. Iyer is the worst player of short ball I have ever seen.

You serioulsy say Bavuma gives you a better value than Reezea Hendricks? or better captain than Markram? MSD is a lower order wicket keeper plus captain. Stepped up big time when needed. Bavuma as an opener you need to set your expectation higher
 
Why are people jumping the gun, Pakistan has to beat NZ and Eng and by any stretch do Pakistan look better than NZ and Eng
