ICC World Cup 2023: South Africa (357/4) seals dominant victory over New Zealand (167) by 190 runs

That's fair. Unlike other circumstances this time I don't have any proof to support my argument.

However like I said hendricks supports the team combination better. Regardless since I don't have a counterargument atm I'll retract what I said.
Respect for being fair.

He has the same number of matches as Bavuma and has failed dismally over the years. You're posting nonsense. How do you justify dropping a player averaging 50 for a bloke averaging 29 at 30 years of age? If anything Brevis should be groomed ahead of Hendricks over the next 4 years
Stats tell us nothing .Imam is averaging 50 + but he is not a match winner . current form is what matters .

SA picking it up ever so slightly.

Tough to bat first, NZ did the right thing. Anything less than 350 and NZ will chase it...plus no Shamsi is a bit stupid. Rabada coming back is good but they should have removed one of the pacers.

But black South Africans don’t have any clue about batting…
That’s wrong Mamoon - this is systemic bluff that had been fed to cricket community over generations. SAF black players can’t bat because they were not allowed to develop that way - batting is the most process oriented sports skill. Same was said about brown players, or coloured players before Amla or Gibbs (I heard Kock is also coloured, but not sure).

Only way for SAF to be dominant in cricket is to bring 90%+ common people of the land in this sports - quota system is a small incentive to keep them interested; won’t be required in next few years…. It’s not needed anymore in soccer or rugby. I rather say it’s a correction of century long discrimination that had taken Cricket away from black people.

its a standard south african start, slow in the first 25 overs and then ballistic in the last 10-15 overs.

it feels like watching the same match for the 4th time
Yeah when you have the most destructive 4,5,6,7 lineup ever, you can afford to take your time to set a platform to blast off of.

If they score < 300.

Ravindra alone will chase it down.

Cricket back to the 90s it seems.

NZ have to bring back Henry so early in the middle overs means, they are worried about QDK staying for a long innings (also possibly due to Rachin seems expensive).

SA must utilise this and try to score as many as possible without losing a wicket.

One of these two batters must break free, soon.

This ground is notorious for not helping spinners much. Even Kuldeep went for a few in some the previous games played here. Even afghans left out Noor to bring in a pacer in their last game against SL here.

It is a right move by SA to stay with Coetzee as he is far better fielder and batter than Shamsi besides being an enforcer style bowler.

Looks like a pretty flat deck

SA well behind
It is a flat deck only. Need a score of at least 320 plus to make a game out of this.

Chasing under the lights is pretty comfortable here (going by the recent games).

SA batters could not have asked for better chance here with Henry moving off the field with some niggle.

Time for some fireworks from batsmen against kiwi part timers.

Henry seems to be having a hamstring issue here. walked off the field...Neesham is in to complete his over

I think kiwis can chase up to 325 here. Probably SAF ahead at this stage, if they reach 155/1 after 30. People are missing the point that they have Markram, Klassen, Miller & Jansen to come, while Kock is still in middle. Lady 20 overs can produce over 200!!!

SA should make 300+ from here with 9 wickets in hand.

It is 3.33 am here and I may have to go back to sleep now, thought I was in for some explosive batting but so far it is very underwhelming from SAffers.

It’s like watching a mid 90s match from Sharjah.

Scouring rate need to move up.

Any example other than imam and pakistan?
Abdullah, imam, Babar and rizwan (Useless)(pak)
Bavuma (SA)( Useless)
Smith and labu(Aus)(Useless)
All of England (Useless)
All of Bangladesh (Useless)
Kane Williamson (NZ)(Good but doesn't fit current combination)

^^ All soft scoring stat paddlers minus England who are all out of form atm.

Dhoni post 2015ish

After 31 overs, Proteas have scored 162 runs for the loss of 1 wickets. Good going atm

We are watching a top 5 WK batsman of all time who, sadly, will not play nearly as much Test and ODI cricket as he should have because of the advent of T20 cricket.

I don’t blame him at all but he is born at the right time. De Kock playing for South Africa in the 90s and early 2000s instead of Boucher could have allowed that Proteas team to push Australia closer.

He is a tremendous cricketer.

rassie is going at a strike rate below 75. He really needs to put his foot on the paddle now.

I see de kock fails 9 out 10 times in crunch games.

Pitch isn't a belter but might get better under lights. Somebody needs to strike well and get set because this does not look like a pitch where you can go beserk at the end.
But South Africa need at least 350 so should be accelerating right now.

Snoozefest!

Hit out or get out, guys.

Need a score in excess of 325 here.

Why would you insert SA in? Yet another game where team winning toss will lose the match, this has become the norm this tournament.

Qudrat ka nizam working
Ferguson injured
Henry injured
Chapman injured
Williamson injured

Is it just me or has Southee just been getting smashed in the last couple of years.

Qudrat ka Nizam would have made it Pakistan's game after that brilliant Haris catch. That match went from qudrat to anti-qudrat pretty fast.

I quit ages back lol. So boring. I don't like seeing rubbish on flat decks. So boring. Nothing for bowlers.

Now SA will get lucky as they get to bowl under lights. Becomes harder to see althought It comes onto bat nicely

NZ always tries to load their side with batsmen and less bowlers. At some point it was going to hurt them. It did against Australia. now SA

And people were calling me a rizwan hater for saying qdk is superior to rizzu. 😂😂.

Funny fans this lot

For QDK INdia is like home ground having been lynch pin of Mumbai Indians for so long. No surprise he is having fun.

Time for Proteas to play T10 now or T12
