ICC World Cup 2023: South Africa (399/7) destroys England (170) by 229 runs, leaving England's World Cup hopes in jeopardy

Look at Bairstow bat high up ready to swing only Ifty holds the bat like that for Pak, rest have half a swing hence no 6s

I am hoping for a thriller today. Given the importance of the game i expect good response from England.

England are very much in the game. Only they can chase this 🔥🔥
Seems like they will easily chase down the highest ever target in the WC history.
In 2016, they chased down a record target on the same ground, against the same opposition (different format though)
Fingers Crossed

If there's one team that will still believe it's England. They have done it regularly but chasing is different

I’m usually quite respectful towards you, but take a look in the mirror. The bafoon stands in front of you.

Someone else on this thread implied they enjoy the sixes and fours and the imbalanced tween bat and ball and I respect that.

You on the other hand brought Pakistan inti this for gos only knows that reason...

If you enjoy the imbalance between bat and bowl then so be it, no issues.
But why bring Pakistan and their lack of six hitting into it?

Why not??? Is it against the rules to bring Pakistan into a cricket discussion on PakPassion?

As much as I like Eng- they are not chasing 400 here. And this stupid penchant for chasing is ridiculous as I said before. These are WC games and scoreboard pressure is huge. One mistake and the batsman is gone - so chasing has lot of pressure. Ind has been different as they restricted teams to less than 300. Even ind will struggle to chase 300. Eng WC is pretty much over. Their bowling has struggled and they look totally cooked this WC

Context.
When I say that I am not enjoying watching bowlers getting smashed to smithereens doesn't mean that I am talking about Pakistan.

As Simone who loves the game I want to see more balance between bat and ball...

So why bring Pakistan into it?

Also hence me asking whether you're being stupid on purpose...

Nasser and Atherton resort to talk about general topics now that things are going south for England

Look at the carry lol Don't call this patta. There is reward for good bowling. Brainless bowling will get punished.

What a ball from Jenson. Good pace and bounce at the Wankehde as expected.

Joe Root absolute joke

Why was this guy not playing ODI in the past 4 years when England knew they needed him in the World Cup??!

Imagine Temba addressing the team on the eve of next match and says

"Reeze, well played man !! So happy for you. You are OUT.. Aiden, you be my assistant again. We shall make history "

Tbf, he was also the weakest link in the 2019 squad. On England pitches he's the epitome of soft run scoring.

Ironically he and Smith made me take back what I said. These 2 are the definition of why Pakistan needs to evolve.

Kane is also a 75 strike rate guy. He has one of the worst strike rate in 2019 world cup.

He was a master anchor. Probably on par or marginally better ODI player than Babar Azam. But, certainly better than Williamson
Master anchor for sure, but was never a match winner in ODIs. His style of batting isn't suited for high ODI chases.

Rejected me how? Explain? Are you being racist again?
He's being racist for sure. Anyone who knows your background knows what he's doing.

I've never said this before about any poster but it's about time, mods ban him for good.

Root was never ever close to Williamson as an odi player 💀. Bruh.

Root only performs on England pitches and is the epitome of soft scoring. He's basically just a superior version of Babar azam but the same mould.

Williamson single handidely carried the entire fragile NZ batting lineup in 2019. Rn Williamson is the weakest link cause the current unit of Conway, Chapman, Mitchell, Ravindra, Philips etc are modern day batsmen and this tournament is proving why the era of accumulators like Smith, Root, bavuma, williamson, Babar is a facade and beyond outdated. This WC has been a reality check for all these accumulators.

Out of these guys, only kohli is the one who has always adjusted to the modern game and knew which approach to take on what situation

Eng should bat normally till over 30. Then recalibrate the options whether to go for it or NRR salvation.

I partially agree with you (y)

Umpire is blind as a bat.

No wait, a bat would have gone deaf with loudness of that edge!

The hype behind England was real! This is a shambolic performance!

Jos Buttler the captain surely shares the blame here.

Because the whole batting lineup was beyond fragile in 2019, 90% of the time he was forced to anchor and save the innings.

He no longer is needed in 2023 because Conway, Mitchell, Ravindra, Chapman, Philips all play modern cricket.

As I said before this WC has proven to be a wake up call for all these 1990 era frauds in root, Smith, Williamson, Babar etc. It's time for the 2023 approach which is why India is so succesful and why sa is tanking 400 scores and why NZ has been strolling through win after win without Williamson being a thorn
