If Saffers had some more experience and another batting allrounder (not Andile/) with Jansen coming in at 8, theyd be in with a real chance at the Cup.

you must be kidding. I just shared a stat on this ground only 2 300s in 53 matches. One was against Netherlands. Basically just 1 300 total in 53 matches. Don't blame the pitches for poor bowling and insane batting.

Red soil pitch which disintegrates but less help from spinners. Black soil pitch will offer a lot of help for spinners. Defending total will be easier provided the defending side has a decent set of spinners. During IPL they use black soil pitches. MSD can bully teams with spinners.

Depends which bowlers they pick - I would have dropped Hasan Ali for Mir. It’s possible to get few key wickets early and put them in choke mood, even bowling first; but for that Babar has to show big heart - May be risk conceding 360+ it it back fires, but he has to attack with spinners and get wickets, to restrict SAF under 275. His usual moods operandi will cost 330+ every time.

Guys like Pathirana are too raw. In a way he is their trump card. WHen he gets hit around they have nobody turn to. For heavenake he played under-19 only few years back. Wellalege played under-19 world cup last year. Fairly inexperienced. No Hasaranga, No Theekshana. No Chameera.
