And now it is raining for the SA-Netherlands game.
Horribly organised tournament.

Haters gonna hate but what a tournamentIf Netherlands win today, this World Cup will be in reckoning for the greatest ever.
Not sure, if there is a good balance because we haven't seen a team defended a small total successfully. Pitches are offering support for the batsmen and the spin bowlers but there is very little help for the fast bowlers. There is actually a good balance between bat and ball comparatively which is being exploited by everyone.
Way better than 2015 for now.
and yet 4 out of top 5 bowlers are fast bowlers. Santner is topping only due to his fifer against NEDNot sure, if there is a good balance because we haven't seen a team defended a small total successfully. 96 few countries didnt play in Lanka, 1992, rain played a heavy role in PCt and England qualifying. So far from what I've seen of the world cup is that it's moderate. Bar India games, most of the other games are failing to generate quality atmosphere.
For me it's not a patch on 92, 96, 99, and 2019 world cups
True all games going into final few overs not a clue who’s going to win. All games are master pieces, especially between overs 11-39On the way To become GOAT world Cup .
We are 3 weeks into the tournament, every team has played 4 matches already and we're not even half way through the it. It isn't just a long tournament it feels very long.
2011 was the same, 2015 was similar but because of the time difference I didn't bother watching many. 2019, was long too.
2007 was frankly the worst international tournament there's ever been for any sport ever. It was terrible.
Cricket isn't helping itself, it seems to me they want to kill the 50 over format for good with these never ending world cups. I don't disagree by the way - 2007 should have been the last 50 over WC.
This is not an upset, wait and watch where Pakistan end up.How is this not the GOAT World Cup ? Another quality match with the 3rd big upset and we are not even HALFWAY through.
Laughable to suggest that the dross 2019 edition was better than this.
I have a dirty feeling about India vs Sri LankaHow is this not the GOAT World Cup ? Another quality match with the 3rd big upset and we are not even HALFWAY through.

Came to this thread to write exactly this. Definitely the best, marred only by the one sided final. The greatest of all World Cup was 1999. Nothing compares in quality due to all the legends and greats of the game plus the competition and some of the most memorable games and upsets in its duration. The overall even contests between bat and ball and basically all skills equally shining (batting, fast bowling, spin bowling, fielding).. nothing since then compares personally
Had some great games (mostly two Aus vs SA), anything else? But it did have a dumb rule of the points carrying over. I remember India suffered because of losing to Zim.The greatest of all World Cup was 1999. Lol. That would be really embarrassing. Think we are playing them at WankhedeI have a dirty feeling about India vs Sri Lanka
The only thing going for 2019 was it featured arguably the greatest final ever.
As a Pak fan, I think a GOAT tournament needs the "big" nations to compete and have a meaningful presence in the tournament - England and Pak have failed so far in that regard. Australia are picking up but looked scratchy prior to the match with Pak. After the partnership the rest of the line up didn't show much and 380 should have been 420, maybe more at one stage.Even the commies lamenting the lack of competitiveness in their tournament.
Some astonishing cricket been played, no doubt, but a GOAT WC needs GOAT games - these could be GOAT to some people. Afghanistan (for brilliant wins over England and Pakistan), Netherlands for that incredible win over SA. Indians will no doubt be enjoying the dominance but there really hasn't been any drama, any competition - largely blowouts.
Not a GOAT for me as a sensible (IMO) fan of the game, removing any loyalties to Pak.
They already tried this, what ended up happening was the art of reverse swing was almost killed and the art of bowling was almost made extinct by the endless barrage of boundaries.Change the ball from 2 balls to 1 ball. Matches on these pitches would have turned lot closer (esp. India vs Australia, India vs NZ, Pak vs Afghanistan, Ned vs Srilanka...)
The gulf between the teams is the yawning chasm, in most instances. and in some instances, the impossible happens. But true, there have not been any competitive games thus far.Still not a single good game. All the games are one sided.
Many pitches have been disgrace some were decent but teams are not able to compete.
Lackluster event so far.
Almost half the tournament is over not even a single close game.
It's been very boring world cup so far. 24 matches are done today. The gulf between the teams is the yawning chasm, in most instances. and in some instances, the impossible happens. But true, there have not been any competitive games thus far.
maybe we will get one with south africa and australia, or india and south africa, or new zealand and pakistan.
This has to be one of the most boring WC I have ever witnessed. I mean when you get a WC like 2019, hard to top it.
Also, there are no nailbitter matches, I can't even think about any close matches either. Most of the matches were convincing win. Even teams like BD/SL is flopping whereas in the previous WC, because of their competitive play, they made the WC exciting since it was geniuenly hard to predict even at the end of the last round robin who would make it to SEMI. This time around, with almost half the matches left for all teams, maybe 1 spot is up for grab (that too is a big maybe depending on if PAK wins all games) and rest are very easy to predict who will go through to semi.
Yeah man. It seems like a gully mohalla tournament. Even gully mohalla matches are more interesting than this boring event. It is the most boring WC till date after 2007. No close matches and very low competition between bat and bowl. I think it is a end of ODI format starting from this WC
Broadcast money money.. its not like football that you have separate viewership markets and concurrent match won't impact ad revenueWhy are we not having two matches every day. This is unnecessary making this a long World Cup. It’s not even half way yet. Getting fed up actually.
Sri Lanka is former world champion. How it can be upset?Low scoring thriller coming up with semifinal race on the line .
Can SL cause the 4th upset of the tournament ?![]()
You bet on the wrong horse...another one sided game and probably the worst World Cup yet...Low scoring thriller coming up with semifinal race on the line .

What logical reason makes this a great world cup so far?To Indian posters, Pakistan is not doing well guys. So accept it, this is the most boring WC. No logical reasoning is gonna change that.

Add England and certain fans for Bangladesh .To Indian posters, Pakistan is not doing well guys. So accept it, this is the most boring WC. No logical reasoning is gonna change that.

Fact is india winning all the game so far also not digest for some fan's.
Not only this WC, for me ODIs are a mess these days. My point is, this WC is not different from 2019 WC. Only difference is the faster bowlers are travelling this time while it was the spinners last time. Can you tell me why this World Cup has been exciting to you? I can list at least 5 World Cups which were better than this (1992, 1996, 1999, 2011, and 2019).
2019 was most pathetic I have seen where rain and flat wicket were effected most games .Bangladesh always lose badly in every WC.
I was referring to overall experience. Do you think this World Cup has been better than 1992, 1996, 1999, 2011, and 2019 ones? I don't think so.
Too many one-sided games in this World Cup. That was a turnoff.
2019 was most pathetic I have seen where rain and flat wicket were effected most games .
It’s been a pretty terrible World Cup.
The round robin style format doesn’t work. Needs to be canned. We already know the identity of the semi finalists and there’s so many games to go.
Add the bowling graveyard pitches, ridiculous dimensions and complete lack of full houses.
India have done a poor job.
That would be my preference.I think they should make 2 groups.
Good news is they are supposed to do that for 2027 World Cup (14 teams; 2 groups). South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia are the hosts.
You are talking about crowd .let's me explained you few thing .most Asian game had good crowd not becouse England fan's were there to watch the game but Desi dispora were watched the most of Asian game .2019 WC final was possibly the best World Cup match of all time.
2019 group stage matches were entertaining. There weren't many one-sided games. Also, crowds seemed more engaged.
I think 2019 WC was pretty good.
Both NZ and South Africa have tough game ahead so Australia will definitely finish at 2 or 3 but not 4 .What if the top 4 is in this order?
India
SA
Aus
Pak
NZ have tough games coming in future.
