I'm not shy and have to say he's quite a looker, also his undying spirit of never giving up in spite of repeated failures or missing straight deliveries is truly inspirational and I'm not ashamed to admit that I've shed a tear once or twice inspired by him :6:

Its not a big deal. Fawad Alam has few fans here. Imran Farhat is thousands times better than him. So there may be many farhat fans. btw i am not one of them.

Yeah I mean, Fawad cant even clear inner circle and still score runs while Immy can hit it big and get out on great scores like 5 and sometimes he gets out on a duck just so Asad/Younis gets a chance to play.

Imran has such a big heart :afridi

They are two different kinds of players. Farhat's an opener, he needs to have a stable technique to face the moving ball, he needs to know how to pace an innings, he needs to take advantage of the powerplay overs and lay a platform for the middle and lower order. Fawad is more of middle order oriented player. His strength is rotating the strike, finding the gaps, making sure the scoreboard keeps ticking in the 25-40 over region, from where the lower order can accelerate and push towards a bigger score. Unfair comparison, in my opinion.

Never compare Apples to Oranges, whose the apple and whose the orange? I'll leave that you :))

Qualities which u mentioned for a middle order bat are lacking in fawad.he possesses none. Regardless of batting positiom imran is much much better than fawad.

This is not an effort to counter "does imran have any fans" :p Immy beats fawad hands down. Its my opinion.

Just for defense of the poor bloke,

I actually supported an opening stand of Imran nazir and Imran Farhat over Salman or Yasir once ... Imagine having 2 openers with the same first name man :13: ... sadly both never stayed in the team for long :(

and played important role in winning test match vs aus in uk.

Imran Farhat has played a bajillion ODIs and averages what? 30?

Imran Farhat is the worst thing to happen to cricket. Could've done cool things, but lacks a brain and motivation. The fact that his damaad was the selector probably stopped him from achieving his potential.

Do you guys actually remember that NZ knock? Do you remember how Farhat was playing? On a number of occasions he played shots which even the other Imran, Imran Nazir, would consider a bit too crazy. In one particular shot, he just swung the bat like a mad man, like how you may do in the park if you needed 6 runs to win from 1 ball and your dad was batting. The commies started questioning his 'mental' strength.

Fawad looks more solid. He can bowl as well as field. If properly groomed he can easily be bowling 6 - 7 overs a game , and bat in the top 6. It will give Pakistan a chance to go in with extra batter.

I appreciate Farhat from the 'Farhat-Hameed vs New Zealand' days.

Opinions on Mirza Malik are divided though, he was an embarrassing captain but a decent player. Now that he's half Indian i have no option but to support him. :yk

Imagine if the Pak XI consisted of 11 Imran Farhats. Atleast one of them would score a quick 50 then throw his wicket away. The rest would just throw their wickets away.

your so called best openers in the past the rocksss amir sohail averages 30ish so does ramiz raja....

yasir hameed the same imran nazir has played more then hafeez and farhat and averages like 23ish thats even better o welllss what can you say all his hate should go to his father in law not him,,, he does not sit outside the selection room and pleeed to be picked im a millions percent sure any of u who cant even hold a bat if u had the chance to play for pakistan you would,,, anyyy one would so i dont blame him,,, until his comeback in 2010 before that his father in law was not a selector or n e thing and the funny thing is hee is not the selector now sooo letsss start bashing iqbal qasim now...

yes i saw that innings..and I agree that it was one of the luckiest 100 ever...

but it was still a 100 ...and he remained not out...

but against Australia
