"Imran Khan is older than me" : 89-year-old former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah

KARACHI: Former Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah, 89, on Wednesday said that former Pakistan cricket team captain and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was in his heydays of cricket when he was studying in college.

Talking to the media, Qaim Ali Shah said, “Imran Khan is older than me. I used to be a college student when Imran was the captain of the Pakistan cricket team.”

“He is better suited to cricket and looks better on the pitch”, he observed.

The former Sindh CM has been elected to the post for three terms and holds the title for the longest-serving chief minister of Sindh on combining his last two terms which sum up to 8 years. His days in politics begun with being elected as Khairpur’s district councils chairman during Ayub Khan’s regime in the 1960s.

Imran Khan, 69, played international cricket for two decades in the late twentieth century before entering the field of politics. The cricketer succeeded Javed Miandad for captaincy at the age of 30 in 1982.
