India (150 & 487/6d) beat Australia (104 & 238) by 295 runs in the 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Solid stuff from Hazalewood and starc. Might not be scoring more runs but this hold is definitely gonna be helping other batters later on to learn thing or 2. KOHLI?

46 is an in-between lead. Not great but not useless either. Hopefully, we can weather the early storm and make something of it.

Australia all out for 104.

They were played 2 more over than indian team.

Lead is 46 .how many runs india can score in 2nd inning?

I think india is going to score around 135 .

Australia target 180

Australia to win by 5 wickets

What you are saying? In such low scoring match 46 lead is very crusial. Indian batter in 2nd inning should take advantage of 46 lead. Remember Aussies r batting last I.e. 4th inning

Aussies dropped 2 catches. Otherwise, India could've been all-out for 130-140.

Anyway, I expect Aussies to win by an innings here.
:p wake up from the dream and check the reality. India has taken 46 runs first innings leads.

Australia can still win the match but some arogant expert's are hiding from this thread .

Astonishing performance by India. Despite bundle out at low score of 150, Indian bowlers pull out the lead. Indian batter now should take advantage of 46 runs and extend lead beyond 275+ and put Aussies under pressure in 4th inning

Remember Rohit Sharma and Shami are not playing. If Shami was there, Aussies would have bundled out below 70 runs

I do recognise the value of those 46 runs but don't batting fourth is any disadvantage when you'll be batting on Day 3 - probably the best day for batting on this pitch. It'll lose a bit of it's sting but the do-called 'snake' cracks won't be a factor yet.

Given the brittleness of Indian batting, I'd make it 55-45 or if I'm being generous 60-40 in favour of India. Not a huge advantage under the circumstances.

Day 2: Lunch Break - Australia trail by 46 runs

IND 150
AUS 104 (51.2) CRR: 2.03

Where ia Daniel Alexander? I want to ruin hi face.

WinViz giving it 54:46 to Australia still. We are so bad that their model doesn't rate us even after a lead on this pitch.

Not hiding, will pop up when Travis head and steve smith come back

Bruv i am a weekender with a dodgy knee. i am a better batsman than Kohli after a pint. Twice as better when playing with my left, while my right holds my second pint.
Not saying kohli doesn't suck. He does bad.

But do you really believe you can even get a touch to a 140 kmph ball?

Harsha said something about the Aussies which I liked. If you play hard cricket against Aussies and give it back to them and win, they respect you. If you play soft cricket they don’t respect you.

Rana looks like having some skill. India needs to play him and give a long rope. Early days, but looks good.

Early years Pandya vibes

Rahul looks like a nervous wreck, not for the first time in his career.

I think in India's case they don't just respect them but also fear them now.

This is the best he has ever looked tbh. What are you talking about lmao?

I do not want him to play but if he can score 20 30 runs and bat like 80 90 balls I would take that.

Good running by both batsmen. Good rotation of strike, something which didn't happen in the first dig.

People have zero concept about tesr cricket. You need to bat time. Get some overs under your belt. Tire rhe bowlers our. Grind them to paste. Give your bowlers rest then attack with intensity.

That's why nations with no test cricketing credentials should open their mouths
You cant expect bumrah and co to bail your useless batsmen out all the time. Lmao

They need rest

Once Rohit & Gill come back for for 2nd test, who'd they replace?

Padikkal I guess and then Rahul will go back to his usual 1 down.

Not sure who'd Gill replace.

It's been a difficult pitch. So far it's been all about survival.
But these 2 Indian openers are now beginning to feel in control

Incredible how India has been the most superior touring side in Australia for the past 6-7 years and England, New Zealand in comparison are no where near as good

Bumrah debuted 7 years ago.

Rohit needs to go home. Get lost. Don't disrupt our ryhtym.

Paddikal out and bring in pradosh instead.

Kohli needs to be sacked.

Need to pick up a wicket here, these two are looking comfortable. Can't allow openers to go big.

India up their intensity vs aus, SA hence they drew there and also vs england.

But some reason intensity is much lower vs nz. No idea why

Australia's last wicket partnership probably taught us a bit about how to stay on this wicket. So not everything was bad about that partnership for us.

lol, nothing of that sort is going to happen except for Padikkal going out in favour of Rohit.

Aussies looking toothless now against these two. Their composure and patience is incredible. India have conquered Perth

They are super meek against NZ always. NZ is a strategy based team. Indians play right into their hands more often than not.
