India (150 & 487/6d) beat Australia (104 & 238) by 295 runs in the 1st Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

India should be 1-0.

Question is can Aussies bounce back? I still think Aussies should win the series eventually.
Definitely favourites. Australia that is. We are in transition and shami isn't there. Unless our young gen steps up and cover for our useless oldies.

They are not a low calibre team. They are a quality side. So they will bounce back hard. They have strong school system.
There's no immediate bowling talent beyond their current starters and the betting cupboards been long emptying

Plenty of bowling options if they can select.

In batting department they have some problem .

i think australia will bounce back in next test and still big favourite to win the series 4-1

there is
lance morris good player
jhye but injury prone
there is also fergus o neil. quick bowler
and boland is decent

batting has a few guys but test calibre they seem to have more ARs like hardie and so on. not pure batting talent.

2-2 is my prediction before series started

Very poor shot from Khwaja. Low in confidence definitely and wanted to attack. Judgement was bad.

it is still possible if head and smith can score double centuries....this pitch is a batting paradise....

Head is showing who the boss is....great aggressive stroke play from him

Indian Bowlers have found the perfect length for australian conditions. They are not fast but they are not that slow either.

They mostly operate at 132-138 ks but with good length and decent seam bowling skills.
Due to good bowling india has been successful in australia.

Shaheen was trundling at 123-124 km/hr in the Perth test last year.

Every single Indian pacer is easily touching 135-139 km/hr on average.

Huge difference in the fitness and endurance of the pacers of the two teams now.

In this heat 133 to 140 pace is quite fast.
If it's cooler Indian bowlers bowl 135 to 144

our bowling is Quality
Batting is mediocre.

I think we should add another wicket taking bowlers instead Reddy/ Sundar for next test .

At what point do India panic?

It would be a troll of epic proportions if Australia cruise home near Tea tomorrow.
Aus has 50 odd runs so far. They can put 100 more runs without losing wickets and India will be still a huge favourite.

Washington doesn't really have any control. We cant play him as an alone spinner going forward.

Ball is softer now. Needs to keep India pacers bowling for a long time.

As per our current form, We are going to emulate first innings kind of spectacle more than second innings brilliance in the series.

I'm surprised really. I thought this was going to be a century partnership the way the two were batting. There's going to be one at some point. I've mentally prepared myself for us to be bowling through the day and for them to end up a bit above 300.

Smith in the last fifth of his career averages 36. Not the player he once was.

Head is going to score big hundred.

He is walking wickets at initial stages but once he set he can smashed any Apposition .

Bowling is our strength so strengthen them more .

Playing with only three quality bowlers is no use when we cant bundled out Apposition cheaply .

Need four wicket taker bowlers.

Australia will be on back foot in the next test as well , it will be very hard to make a comeback , specially with Rohit Sharma coming back.

Fantastic away going delivery from Siraj to get rid of Smith.
Smith was playing inside the line of the ball after getting dismissed LBW shuffling across in first innings

Never a good sign for any batsman when he's forced to change his technique in middle of the game.

Padikkal isn't helping his cause. First next to no runs in this test and then this dropped catch.

Marnus Labuschagne is often seen as a batter who thrives on flat tracks, but struggles to adapt to challenging conditions.

He could benefit from studying the aggressive approaches of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh, who consistently demonstrate an ability to score rapidly.
