Where do you think Chahal replace Ashwin/Jaddu combo? Check the dedicated thread about Chahal/Kuldeep combo. Because of them India reached top ranking. They did across the world.

All those variables are excuses those things happen in WCs as venues are different, teams are different. You will be making similar excuses for him after T20 in Australia although he is a better T20 bowler than 50 over.

Ashwin is a bigger match winner and yes chahal performed in bilateral but when it mattered and teams had their strongest sides out he failed.

Not excuses. Fact. APart from Rashid Khan there is no better leggie than Chahal in the world in T20.
 
Last over for Chahal. BD should see him off and target the remaining two overs.

Okay lets see what he does in the next WC. As of now he failed in the only one in played and Tahir definitely out shown him that too with a struggling team.

You can't even call world cup a failure where all spinners were ineffective. Anyone who followed the world ucp would know. Rashid Khan was massacred by England. What is the other tournament where he failed? Infact Ashwin played in world t20 2016, played in world cup 2015. Played CT 2017. All failed. Ash did well in 2013 CT.

Indian seam attack need better back up. Chahar is barely okay. Khaleel, Dubey are waste. Every single short ball by Khaleel went to boundary today.
 
Why is Kuldeep not in the squad? He is a better player than Chahal in T20’s.

How come? As facts are that both Adil Rashid and Shadab Khan are higher in International T20 bowlers rankings and rightly so because both have better economies than Chahal. Adil's is around 7.4 while Shadab's in 6.99. Ish Sodhi is also higher.

Chahal is ranked 35 in international T20 ranking of bowlers.

Dubey is a batsman who can bowl. A better hitter than Shankar.

Chahar is a good bowler. He is pretty good with new ball.

He will be ineffective again - Ashwin did better than him in most WCs he played and CT. He had more than decent 2015 WC. It was only due to fakhar freak innings that he is sitting out.

Not enough games. He is not a preferred guy because he can't bat. They go with guys like Krunal, Sundar.

Ashwin did well in 2015 wc in Aus.India underestimated his bowing,Should have played 2019 WC.
 
This is India's match to loose. India should chase this in 15 overs

The CT final wasn't the main reason for jadeja and ashwin getting dropped it was the final nail. They had been ineffective at taking wickets in the middle period for too long, the final just gave the selectors the reason to finally get rid of them, especially ashwin for good.
 
Khaleel Ahmed is as mediocre as it comes. I don’t know how this dude even gets selected. He would be massacred by big teams if he makes it to 2020 WC. He bring backs the nightmare Indian fans had to grew up watching games in 90s. He needs to be dropped permanently

India started turning a new page only after twin leggies started playing. There are dedicated threads discussing about it. Kuldeep went off the boil last IPL. HE will come back soon after injury. Only reason these guys are not regular in T20 because they can't bat or field.

He has played 32 games which are enough in comparison as Shadab has played 37, Adil Rashid 39 and Sodhi 38, Adam Zampa 27 and all 4 especially Shadab, Rashid and Zampa have better records than Chahal.

Chahal is a pretty decent spinner but I think in subcontinent we hype players after a good season or 2, Chahal isnt as good as the hype and same is the case with Kudleep. SA tour was exceptional for them other than that they are decent but nothing extraordinary till now.

Dhawan will be india's undoing in 2020 the way rahane was in 2016, even at his best he isn't going to scoring at higher than 150, a 120 SR is good in odi's but as an openor in t20's that's bang average especially considering rohit mostly plays the holding role.
 
If BD want to beat India, they need to chase always. India are too good when they chase.

This Al Amin against Gayle would be fun lol Atleast 2 or 3 balls would have disappeared by now. Dhawan hardly times the ball against his 120 k thunderbolt.

Ishan Porel took a fifer in Vijay Hazare. India should continue exploring other options. He has got enough chances to seal his spot as a backup.
 
India as a unit they hardly play any T20. It will be a challenge for them to gel well right away in world T20. They can drop that tournament as leagues are far more popular than international T20.

He has good physique decent height and decent pace but the lengths and bit of movement he showed early is nowhere to be seen. He has regressed by the looks of it since his debut.

If India really wants a left arm seamer than Khaleel should remain with Bharat Arun as long as he can as he can definitely help him with his lines and lenghths and eventually with seam position as he has done the best job out their amongst any international bowling coach in last couple of years with not only Bumrah and Shami but also improved Ishant a lot.

He's been fantastic, BCCI should be getting him involved in NCA. The young bowlers can't do much better than him as a coach, the only guy in the indian international coaching setup right now who actually earns his keep

I am as straight forward as a poster as they come, never compared Khaleel with anybody, was wrong about Rahul and admitted that multiple times in this forum. I speak as I see it.

Not taking anything to heart but I find it outrageously silly when people compare established players with shady ones based on t20 ranking. Wasn't Fakhar among top 10 t20 bat sometimes back? Does that mean he is better than the ones ranked below? Imad wasim ranks second in t20 forget crying put loud 😂.

Wish Bangladesh scored 200, we could get to see 5th international ton by Rohit. Imagine scoring a ton in T20 while chasing!

Only chance BD had of defending it was to take wickets of Rohit and Dhawan early.
 
Regardless of how he goes, this Aminul leggie is a good addition to their T20 outfit. Leggies rule in T20.

Dhawan is pretty much useless in T20s and can be replaced by anyone. Also one of the reason we have such a poor record batting first in T20s as his tuk tuk costs the team a lot

BD should persist with this leggie. Leggies can be expensive at times. But back them. They are wicket takers.
 
BD was up against it In this series. Competed decently in patches. In the first match they bowled well.
 
Rahul should open with Rohit in T20Is. Dhawan should be axed asap. India is guaranteed to win every other match with Rahul and Rohit opening.
 
I hope Rahul lets Rohit have his well deserved ton today. It would be a shame if Rohit gets stuck in 90s.
 
For those saying dhawan didn't perform well, i think he did supporter role really well, when your partner is in such blazing form like rohit, you are meant to try to give him as much strike as possible, which dhawan tried to do
