India (160/6) clinch last-ball 4-wicket victory over Pakistan (159/8) in the final over at the MCG

One or two players choked on the occasion and lost the ability to either think clearly or deliver what they intended.

Overall was a good fightback by the batsmen and top class bowling by the attack until the choke in the last 12 balls or so.

That was a performance capable of beating a tournament favourite, if the team can get their heads screwed on.

First match in a long time where my heart was beating a hundred miles an hour..thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Gutted with the way we lost but on a positive note it took a superhuman effort from kohli to win it..we controlled that game right till the end and even then nearly won..so head is high and hopefully they don't collapse against the other teams..gotta focus and win all our matches..

I felt we had the wood over them throughout the game..also felt we should have got about 10 more runs. Still happy with the team..real fighters this lot..

Well played kohli..just superhuman effort.

A quick shout out to Shadab Khan.
The only Economical spinner in the entire match and his control over line and length is now absolutely superb.

Even when India were 30 or so for 4, I was never convinced that Pakistan would win this match.

The tactics and approach were not spot on and to win such matches you have to be near perfect.

India dominated the first 10 overs and high chance of winning with only 160 target.

However, looks like in the end it was Pak who chocked. Also, the last over by Nawaz looks very sketchy to me.

T20 is a pathetic format where all it takes is a couple of sixes to change the momentum of the game and losing early wickets means absolutely nothing.

We keep letting teams destroy despite being 95% on top.

1. Semi last year.

2. Asia cup final.

3. Today.

All 3 had the teams on the back foot struggling yet choked to a loss.

Pakistan will struggle to beat good teams unless it finds a fast bowling allrounder and a good batsman to replace Asif Ali and Haider Ali.The management couldn’t look beyond Khushdil,Asif and Haider. No need to play to spinners in Australia.Pakistan should go with four seamers.

Thats the faux RizBar does we were 10 runs short nothing wrong bowlers did in fact they fought out of their skin, poor team selection and regretful batting Saqi & Moyo should be held accountable

No one's really commented that Shan Maqsood could have been run out by VK before he even scored.
Or ifteqar also got a life.
put that into perspective

Shan Masood was dropped by Ashwin 3 times ( Any other fielder would have caught that )

He escaped an easy runout by Virat.

Spidercam saved him

Basically he was out 5 times and still only scored 50 odd from 42 deliveries. Basically he has cemented his position by a fluke innings.

Pakistan could have easily killed the match long before and waited till last over and fans complain of cheating. If Pakistan was good enough this scenario should not even come.

There are huge positives from this match. Iftikhar and Shan Masood (albeit patchy) came good, Pakistan posted a total of 159 even when Babar and Rizwan got out cheaply. Pakistan's bowling is good, add one more fast bowler and one more genuine batsman in middle order and they will be unbeatable.

'Cometh the hour, cometh the man'.
Kohli has done majestic chases before.
However this inning was special because of the occasion (Diwali), the location ( last time India Pakistan played at MCG was B&H final 1985), the tournament ( T20 World cup) and the match situation ( India were 31 for 4 chasing 160),and surgical operation of the so called phaaast bowlers i who if one reads this forum once in a while will fall prey to the false assumption fast bowlers are some mythical characters who are the only ones capable to taking wickets,

after what Wade did to us in semi final...and Kohli did to us yesterday....Amir should come back. Guide bowlers...whatever he was, whatever he did but there is no substitute for experience

Amir himself is no good under pressure. He is not the same bowler anymore. He isn't going to trouble anyone with his medium pace 127-132 km/hr cutters. He has not even set the T-20 leagues on fire and he refuses to play domestic cricket in Pakistan to earn his place back in the team, keep the shodda away from the team.

What is he doing these days?

Agree......I was talking about guiding bowlers.....Babar is too timid. Love him as a batsmen but as Captain i have my doubts
