What's new

India [189, 274] defeat Australia [276, 112] in the 2nd Test by 75 runs to level the series 1-1

Some balls are keeping low , Aussies need a solid total otherwise chasing 150 will also be tough .

The pitch is not easy here , there is a chance of losing two three in space of few overs , the batsmen set must play long.

Runs making is not going to be easy on this pitch , even a 30 - 40 runs cameo is like gold.

India are actually bowling pretty well

India one review gone , but so far India have not given away much runs , kept things real tight

Aussie need contributions from everyone here , a quick 30 - 40 would be gold here , lasting too long is difficult on this pitch.

Ashwin needs to pitch the ball outside off area which Lyon thoroughly exploited.

Ball is spinning miles when pitched outside off.

Smith is blocking so so well, this pitch is almost worse as the pune apparently

Scoring runs will be too difficult

Renshaw is so comfortable playing spin though a bit shaky against fast bowlers

austrlia will have to bat very very well to get past indias score. I guess india will get a healthy lead of 30 plus.

With smith out now, 8 from 52, I feel next batsman is going to out sooner or later, better to play shots, and score 20 off 30 than 8 from 50

Not easy as we say! It is just that instinct of playing shots gets you out! It is like handling a cobra! You need somebody like Sehwag who can can cover the line beautifully and get to the pitch. Another man that comes to my mind is Laxman who did it in his own classical way! Sidhu, Azhar and so many brilliant players! Even Vinod Kambli! Sad that land such produced such classical spin players is struggling to save their face today! The reason for the fate in this series are these batsmen! Otherwise our bowlers are doing their job against gritty Australian batsmen!

Not easy to do mate, on this pitch no one will get a quick 30-40 like starc did in pune, you might get 2 boundaries trying to slog 3rd one will be out. So it is essentially the same with lot more probablity of scoring playing more balls you face than just slogging.

No wonder half the people here have never picked up a bat in their life. The RR is not at all a problem. Australia need to dig in and get past the Indian total. After that they can go for their shots because then every extra run will have India very concerned.

Starc and O'Keefe are the key here, it's always the tail ender that makes difference in low total

I am already considering 30 runs as a given when Starc comes out to bat. In such a match, bowlers like Starc are worth their weight in gold.

They say a broken clock is right twice a day. For a change, your defensive old-school mentality is absolutely correct. If manage to crawl to within 10 or 20 runs of India's score with even 5 wickets left, the momentum will shift and they will get a pile of runs very easily. They just need to not collapse and it's theirs.

Still in the game! We missed a leg spinner (or even a conventional off-spinner)

Ashwin is a bit disappointing today - almost entirely bowling to lefties ..........

IND lost last 5 for 15, which can be decisive in this match.

Trail by 55 runs..What if they attack and add 105 runs from here?

A 50 run lead enough??

We've been squeezing them for runs and the RR is very low.

Hope the wickets continue to fall now.

Jadeja is probably a better pressure player than Ashwin.

When the chips are down, he is the one who has been more lethal and effective than Ash.

Handscomb will continue to have a tough tour. He needs a true pitch with bounce

Not at all easy for the righties with the rough outside off. Australia have a bit of an advantage here with the 4-5 lefty bats as against India with only one in Mukund.

Wonder how marsh getting picked again and again

He's just useless especially in asian conditions

Anyday maxwell can play a more handy role than him, maxwell's way of playing can add some precious 30-40 runs which may change the course of whole match

Mitch Marsh is playing ahead of Maxwell is baffling in these condition.
