What's new

India [189, 274] defeat Australia [276, 112] in the 2nd Test by 75 runs to level the series 1-1

Aus should chase this with 4 or 5 down.

Collapses in both innings is going to cost them dearly.

Aus to win this series 3-1 or 4-0 :smith

Jadeja is the key! But we have to get rid of the openers and other left handers. Ashwin & Seamers also need to play their role. Team effort (including captaincy) can only win it for India. But at least 250 was needed here!

THat Bye 4 should be accounted in Ashwin's account ......

Australia should treat this as 1 day match and try to play 50 overs. India should bowl all those 50 overs within the line & length, then automatically wickets will fall. But it seems like they are off-target as of now!

Getting whitewashed by this current australian team of all teams on our soil will be embarrassing. And this will be one thing we can never dream of achieving in Australia. Winning 2 back to back test matches let alone drawing it.

Ashwin used to field in slips, which he should continue.

Exactly.

If anything Australia is more ahead than India.

70-30 to Australia.

No way!! Come on man . . have faith in your team . . This if overhauled will be the 5th highest chase ever in India . . and then you put into context the pitch and the pedigree of Ashwin and Jadeja on these sufaces . . there is no chance for Australia

Warner is key for both teams. Most dangerous batsman in the world. You don't want him to stay too long with a small target. Big test for Kohlis captaincy

Ashwin has to do with these two left handers (very soon). Otherwise the target comes within reach.

These byes and easy runs (and luck) is somehow drifting the match towards Australia. 22 in no time!

Let's see what ashwin is made of. Pitch suited for him and 2 left handers

He has the skills & experience to do it! But not sure (INJURY) if he has the agility & strength to do it for all 6 ball in the over through a full spell!

Indian seamers need to aim at the stumps. I know it sounds like something Wasim akram would say but it's what they have to do here

I am not a fan of umpire's call but I don't want Kohli (just like Dhoni) complaining about umpire's calls going against their way. One of these reasons Dhoni failed to adapt in this format was that he used to find excuses for his failures.

If Ishanth gets both Warner & Smith somehow in this spell, he will justify his legendary (troll) status :)) To be honest we persisted with him for so long because of scarcity of pacers in the country!

Smith is so ugly to watch, yet he averages 60 in Test Cricket. :don
I can't believe there are some who enjoy watching him bat. He's extremely effective but extremely ugly to watch. No class just awkward.

Ashwin needs a break. No point playing a half-fit spinner who can't even impart sufficient revs on the ball.

Why doesn't he trust Jadeja? :kohli

Ashwin has been by far the least threatening of Indian bowlers in this series.

You saw the trouble the Aussie quicks caused with the new ball, Kohli should have let Umesh share it with Ishant for at least a couple of overs and get them both bowling round the wicket at the stumps.

I can kind of understand opening with a spinner but if you're going to do that then that spinner should have been Jadeja imo

Cannot afford to leak runs like this. You need to suffocate batsmen. The field setting should be attacking, but the bowlers should bowl cautiously! If Ashwin doesn't get 1 of these batsmen now, the match will slip out of Indians.

This one was even more unlucky for batsman than Kohli's dismissal.

But Warner is useless on such pitches anyways. He was there for the taking.

Goes round the wicket, out first ball. This captaincy stuff is easy, get Sharyar on the phone and let him know I'm ready to replace Misbah when he retires in 2020

To quote cricinfo: "This is pitched outside off, the ball has straightened, and I don't see any part of ball in line. However, the machine is showing "umpire's call". I don't know how. I must be wrong, but I will need an explanation from somebody here. Don't see any part of ball in line. They show umpire's call. Both on impact and the stumps"

Guys how is that umpires call? It hit outside the line even on hawkeye.... commentators are saying the same. It should have been not out. What's the point of a review if they're still gonna give the wrong decision? They lose the review too

Should bring Jadeja now. Marsh won't be as aggressive as Warner against him! Smith's wicket is the key and Jadeja should get him now!

Anyone else think it was outside the line, but it showed umpires call for some reason?

Will need to see it from an aerial view, must have been 1% in line.

Since Warner is out it is india all the way from here.on this minefield aussies won't be scoring more than 120.

Cricinfo guy is talking **** it is marginal call with ball hitting just in the hawkeye grey area, can't say inside or outside just like Kohli's dismissal yesterday.

Just touched the line, like it happens in tennis.

What's up with Ashwin?

He's getting outbowled by everyone.

It's allowed to pitch outside off. Hence why it says pitching outside off, impact was umpires call. If Ashwin went around the wicket, it would need to be pitching in line.

Bro, he means when it touched the pad, the ball was slightly in line which it was TBH

It would be interesting to see if that would have missed the wickets or not but it's really ridiculous not to go for it even if there is just one review left. That looks not out.

This.

poor decision not to review. Also S Marsh is one of their best player so had to take the chance.
