What's new

India [201/3] beat England [198/9] by seven wickets in third T20I to seal 2-1 series victory

The biggest takeaway from this series is despite all the issues in the Bowling and selection process, India didnt allow England to score 200 in any match. That's brilliant I must say considering their lethal batting attack.

After the initial carnage, it was a good come back. India got away with 198 runs with no Bumra, Bhuvi, Kuldeep in the side.

Excellent result for India considering the bowlers who were missing. Now just need the batting to click.

From England perspective India lacks depth.Dhon is not a T20 batsman. They just have to slow down the top order or get rid of top order. They will register a huge win. Either it will be a comfortable win for India or comfortable win for England. Nothing in between is expected.

Even though Dhoni is in the evening of his career as a batsman but still one of the best keepers around

not about the runs but unlike their batsmen, ours don't get off the blocks quickly enough and allow the likes of Willey to settle nicely.

England top order can throw the bat at every ball because they know someone like Plunkett can hit a few sixes batting at no.10. India's fire power stops at 5.

India isn't chasing this. Batting isn't quick enough and Eng have 5 proper seamers who won't bowl half volleys

If England has score this many, Indians should also be able to score.

For me, the1 and Raina are the key players today..

Speaks a lot about England's batting strength, when 198 is considered a below par score. India has to bat out of their skins to chase this down

They should still look to bat aggressively because the alternative means that we dont even stand half a chance at winning.

England scored 88/9 in last 10 overs. Shows their batting strength ? I dont see India losing the match

No way the Indians will chase this total ..... watch Dhoni mess it up to keep his average up !!! Hope I am wrong !!!!

Wiley getting some swing and Sharmaji struggling and then hitting him a six in the next ball.Things are happening!

I wish England bowlers get out Sharma cheaply so that team management are pressurized to replace him.We aint winning any tournament with his tuk-tuk

People have no idea about the pitch. England should have gotten 215-220. India will have to play pathetically. England have shot themselves in the foot by not getting 215-220

If India wants to win tournaments they would need to build a better bowling attack and not be completely reliant on top three for batting.

I dont think bowling is the issue. We dont have top 3 bowlers, so it is natural for that to have an impact.

Batting, yes. Plus Kohli needs to get smarter as a captain.

When rohit bats this way he is more entertaining than kohli & kl rahul for sure but too sad he does that once in 3 - 4 innings.

Indias match. Seens england innings and they just lost it . 200 is minimum heere. This is pitch made for players like rohit, fakhar etc player

Jordan is a good death bowler. Will be useful in 2nd half of inns

Rahul should stick to proper cricketing shots and really needs to work on his technique against moving ball

They are chasing 198. He had no choice. After power play is over it is not that easy to accelerate like this.

One reason it is hard for others to emulate Kohli is because Kohli is predominantly a groundstroke player. He doesn't rely on aerial shots. That is why he is way more consistent than lot of batsmen.

I just feel it is unfair on Engalnds bowling. If you have scored 210-215 then there is always that psychological advantage. England must be shooting themselves in the foot. Have to blame Morgan snce he was slow to begin with. If england had 220 , trust me India would have struggling

Kohli should remain at 3 in the big games. In bilaterals it's fine to experiment though.

Fielding has been the difference between the two teams today.India needs to bring their level up.No excuse for bad fielding.

India's match to lose from here ... Eng's attack is worse then India's and they didn't finish well in the death overs ... but we'll see

India is on the right track it seems. Well above the required rate.

Rohit with a great shot. When he gets going , he's nearly impossible to stop.

The thing is he's ultra aggressive in limited overs, hitting aerial shots on purpose. That looks great when it comes off but is still risky.
He is batting at No3 in a T20 chasing 190 plus. Not a time to play percentage cricket. He can do that in ODI.

Is England's bowling attack the worst among top 7 teams?

Stokes bowling wide and full outside off.Lankans used similar tactics in 2014 WC final to shutdown our batsmen.

England cannot be going into a World Cup with this bowling attack. Ed Smith needs to scour the domestic scene.

England's fielding has been the difference today. Till now saved 10 runs and took 2 game-changing catches.

I can not believe england are favourites for the world cup. They do not score 300, they cant defend
